- Translation by AutumsTwilight has surfaced of the new novel ending for Final Fantasy XV revealed in the Dawn Of The Future entry. This cancelled FF15 DLC covers everything from the end of Ardyn’s story arch, confirmation of Bahamut villain theory vids, Aranea Highwind boss fight badassery, Shiva and Ifrit love story, a Noctis X Luna reunion, Somnus / Ardyn fleshout, a badass summons showdown and an ending that could have blasted Final Fantasy 15 to masterpiece status IMO. I enjoyed the episode Prompto, Ignis, Gladiolus and especially Ardyn DLC’s but FFXV needed a profound ending that flowed out some of the DEEPS I am reading in this Dawn Of The Future. I may be Excited for 7 remake, but I will never forgive them for 15.

Except for the part where they replaced all the English VA's without even telling them. All of them wanted to return, and many recorded their lines. Square replaced them right out the bat and they found out during E3 when the rest of us saw it. They saw their respective characters, but did not hear their own voice.

Cody does well as a new Cloud, and thanked fans and Steve, but its not as good when Steve has perfected it since 2002.
The new voice of Sephiroth, Tyler, does not have that chill factor that George had. Tyler also didn't thank fans or George at all. He's not even promoting that he's Sephiroth.
Also Quinton Flynn has sighned the petitoon as well. (Reno's VA) on Twitter there's a group called "Operation Reunion."

My name is Disney Boy. I have sent you a few letters in the past by my real name. I was wondering if you could restart the development on the last three DLC for Final Fantasy XV. You see, fans were very disappointed and angry when you canceled the DLC. They actually want to see the ending Tabata so desperately wanted you to complete and since to book came out it was so awsome and now they want it more than ever and I have confidence that you can do it. I don’t want you to give up on it and I feel like you can continue with these ideas:
1. Maybe the old director, Mr. Tabata, could be brought on as a consultant
2. Possibly you could get Tetsuya Nomura who started the main game back when it was Final Fantasy Versus XIII. It was be a full circle idea because he started the game and could end the saga by finishing the work Tabata left behind but keep it the same as you already have
3. I would also like for you to revive the Mod Organizer and as well as the Ebony Level Editor and also your Consumer Trust as clearly you lost it as shown by a mod. There's even a petition on Change.Org to finish it so I think you might wanna get to it as soon as possible
4. I would love it if you would dedicate the game to Tabata
5. You already have a script for it in the form of a book so I think you can adapt it into the DLC fans always wanted.
6. Go on Change.Org yourself and start a petition to see if fans still want the DLC. I know That you felt you couldn't do it without him but thanks yo the book I believe you can. I have faith in you and I don't even believe in giving up. I even want you to announce the petition live and go all public in it so that it can come to fruition.
7. Bring the team back together as I feel that they can carry on without him and that is what he would have wanted. I don't know why he left but I believe that you can do that to and make a petition for the team to come back together as well.

FFXV should have been a multi-part game they could of fleshed out the story so much better
I don't it needed to be multipart but it should never have approached as a road trip from the perspective of Noctis.
Simply because all the good juicy bits are happening with other characters when they aren't in Noctis field of view.
The approach of the story comes off as well a spin off DLC.
NOmura wanted the game to be that with Versus....that's why FF7R is like that

If the production of 15 hadnt been so fucked, we might have had a Final Fantasy, with all this planned content and would have had one of the best FF's of all time.
A total lack of planning and vision by the higher-ups at Square-Enix. Always chasing the latest in technical innovations while failing to keep their eyes on the ball. It was a wonder that XV got made at all.
Damn Nomura. If only Square would have kicked him out of the project a 1 or 2 years earlier.

I'm seriously pissed and a little emotional as well, everything from this book is the perfect ending to FFXV, I was ok with was giving with the original ending but after hearing all of how it could've played out I now do think SE did screw up FFXV.
Maybe Square should just write the books first and then make the game?
Well if FF7 can get a remake, maybe in a decade they'll remake 15.

ff15... could've been a series to be remembered by all if it done things differently. If been able to put all the dlc in the main game but make it a two part (with luna's death being the end of part 1 but we get all of season's one aside from prompto's in it. Then in part 2, we could've continued on with Noctis's journey up, along with episode prompto until he goes to sleep where we'll go into ardyn's and aranea's episodes, then go through the normal ending only for it to be a dream of what to come and then get into dawn of the future as the true ending.

I always loved aranea. Wished she got more screen time.
Maybe that's why Regis said in the Omen trailer "May the Gods forgive me" for following Bahamut's orders and making Noctis fulfill his role of "True King", the one Bahamut set on him. Technically being the enemy in front of the other Gods.
Just hearing all of this I can imagine all of it and its amazing down to that Ending watching the Dawn together with everyone sounds like a it would've been a beautiful scene and moment, but it sucks that we'll never get to experience it T T
If they get enough voices wanting this DLC they will add it, all the stuff there is able to be added the problem is that they just shelved it they didn't just scrap it.
I read the translation a bit ago. It hurt a lot reading it, because what was happening... just make it a FF15-2, the amount of content, I'd honestly pay full price. It would have been amazing, and is a great shame that it didnt happen. Omg, just, this would have been amazing. They tried too hard with the extended media and wasted their effort on aspects that could have been better served in the base game. So beautiful, but such a shame. And they never released the modding tools, this game was a weird and mixed disappointing experience, but it's still just really good for what is available.

Gosh this would have been so goooooood, I really want this! Seriously, it would wrap everything up so nicely, give all the characters more screentime, fixing the loose ends and getting all those beautiful themes in there. I love the dark, death of main character ending and all the wonderful feels that we got in the game. But imagine if this was the ending of new game+ or something like that. This dawn of the future ending is just... wow. This would have been so good. But who knows, as someone else said, maybe this will get remade.
The story is way more emotional and intriguing than the actual game as well as the other additional content. I guess it sounds xenoblade ish but man this would've been a better ending.
And sadly, the best part of FFXV will never be canon, the Omen trailer. It was the only piece that agreed with the very first Final Fantasy Versus 13 trailer from 2006, which was responsible for all hype. It was this trailer's (FFVersus13) popularity that propelled a concept into a game, but they did not remain faithful to the original story. Thus, Omen trailer was just a memory of an idea that would never be.
Though changes from Stella to Luna were made, what could have been, is an ever slumbering dark prince of evil named Noctis. He could only contact his deceased betrothed while alseep. In the end of the story, he would discover that the one he has been searching for to avenge his love, was he himself, but his mind couldn't remember the fatal stroke he gave his bride because the very crystal which gives him ultimate power has possessed this prince to wipe out it's enemy, the good and pure Luna. This is why Noctis' father King Regis has a horn protruding from his head, the prolonged use of dark power causes him to change into a demon. This is also why Noctis's eyes would change to red, signifying that the demon inside has taken over his body.
Stella & Noctis would have been a Romeo and Juliet story.
Noctis and Luna would have been like a Cloud and sacrificial Aerith story.

The dawn of the future is clearly by lightning returns or the FNC still.
Bahamut=Bhunivelze: wants to erase humanity cause they're impure, both use light, both exist in a different realm and are the gods above all others.
Even the ending is like lightning returns. The hero's join together to kill God. A crystal creates a new world and in 15's sense metaphorically and then the world is more like the real world.
It’s insulting that now we’ll never get the chance to see any of this happen onscreen let alone be able to play it :(
After the remakes? You never know. They may finish the collection. I would pay for the “Complete” version.
At this point, I would be overwhelmingly excited to have this made into another movie. At the very least we'd be able to see this epic ending realized.

Not gonna lie, I just forgot about this game for the last year or more, I lost track of time on this one. Moved on to other stuff, accepting the reality and stopping being sad over characters in a game I never played myself anyway.
And here I am, after watching this 40+ minute video, emotionally devastated, with memories of late 2015-early 2016 in my head. Excitement over the game back and just GOD FUCKING DAMNIT, SQUARE, КУСКИ ДЕРЬМА, КАК МОЖНО БЫЛО ТАК ОБЛАЖАТЬСЯ?

@@rohanshan7698 Was it meant to be the actual ending. If so, all endings could be viewed as alternative. The one where Noctis dies is just viewed as the real ending because the unfinished game/story could make this fit easier with how ardyn was viewed as the main villian anyway. In episode ardyn, they threw some of the true colors of Bahamut. If it was stated as just an alternate ending, please correct me.
To be honest, SE was so terrible at the organization of this entire project in a nonsense way... looking how they organized FF7 Remake tell you that they could do it that way with FF Versus/XV but they just fucked up everthing by:
1) Overcharging Nomura with two heavy projects at the same time.
2) Pushing Luminous Engine over Unreal Engine (which is way better and optimized).
3) Wasting resources on a movie which story and content should been in the game.
4) Wasting resources on an anime which story and content should been in the game too.
5) Creating irrelevant events over real important content.
Putting said real important content into DLC that you have to pay for, and released much later than the game.

@@noavsnow7134, It was information of Japanese article translations and from 4Chan leaks, from a developer who worked on the game under Nomura when it was still called "Final Fantasy Versus 13". Nomura was taking too long on the project, so they gave the project to Hajime Tabata, which is why they changed Stella to Luna, a new but difficult Luminous engine and a new story altogether with remnants of the old, like the main characters that Nomura created. After the overhaul of changes, many developers were taken from the project to work with Nomura on Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. This is why the Final Fantasy 15 story seemed incomplete, because it was. The first trailer was just a concept, it didn't have a complete story. It was the high demand from fans that caused them to give it its own number title instead of being an extension of the Nova Crystallis universe (FF13). Also, they didn't actively work on the game for ten years, they put out the concept trailer and then they didn't touch the project for years.

They made the biggest mistake Removing this Ending and everything you said. This is the True Ending, the game’s ending we got was more of a Good ending but not the real one.
That explains why Luna art was like that in the FF15 logo.

Not really. Luna reflects the logo by the oracle of the prophecy painting. In the fight of Chapter 14 of the Royal Edition, she was to appear resurrected to help Noctis. That comes in the image note in the novel. It is simply an art that is reused in different ways to accommodate it in the new narrative of the alternative line.
Would be amazing to make this into a movie and do it up real good. I will always wonder about versus XIII but wow did I sure fall in love with XV too.

your enthusiasm towards ffxv is infectious. i understand the criticisms leveled at it, and some of them are warranted, but the story and characters hold a special place in my heart and it's so good to see someone this positive and sincerely emotional about it. thanks for the playthroughs and the breakdown of what would have been an excellent addition to the game

It breaks my heart that this wasn't put in the final game. All that time and effort put into all those otherwise pointless product placement cross-overs could have easily been spent on Dawn of The Future. I've kept track of every bit of news and removed content and all the theories and everything concerning the development of this game ever since the very first 2006 trailer. Everybody knew this game was going to be incredible. That the story would be tragic. That Noctis would be one if not possibly the best of the main FF characters. But the development hell was so real was this game, possibly one of if not the worst in recent history for any AAA Mainline Final Fantasy title. There's a lot of speculation as to everything that really happened behind the scenes, but the cold reality in the end is that Square really fucked this beautiful game up. That is the most tragic thing. I love Noctis, and all the characters. All the music, the world of Eos. The Multiple Timelines and seemingly infinite possibilities. But this really is the ending the game needed and it is very sad hearing how everything was going to go down while imagining playing it all as originally intended.

@@rohanshan7698 Exactly. The DLC episodes they picked literally a result of a post game survey. I'm sure some parts in the early chapters of this book where things they had in mind, like the Somnus and Ardyn backstory, but everything in Episode Luna on up is clearly completely new ideas that they thought up.
I wish there was like a kickstarter or something like that to fund square to do this in-game, I wanna see this ending so bad. It feels like a true FF ending. # justiceforLuna
I doubt they'd go through with it out. From what I've learned recently, they canceled even before Tabata made the decision to leave the company. If they're the ones that decided to pull the plug on XV, then I doubt they'd accept any funding.
I think all the other endings that we received were what if's and the books ending was what they truly wanted to do with the characters but didn't have the time or possibly the resources to make it. I'm wondering if that's why the director was let go, if I'm remembering right, because he wanted to change the ending they had made and they wanted to focus on promoting FF7.

I really hate to be this guy but this really should've been in the game. The fall of the empire, Sol, Luna, and Bahamut being the villain seems kinda integral to the story. The Ardyn stuff I can see being DLC even if it seems better in novel form. This game would've been so much better with all this. It makes the game's ending seem really lame and pointless in comparison. Ugh missed opportunities.
I actually prefer this over the current ending. I know it's a sudden 180 for Bahamut, but this sound a whole lot better than the final fight with Ardyn
Right ? Imagine during the fight between Ardyn and Noctis they realize something is wrong and then team up, then bahamut bring luna back to life and with aranea they fight bahamut
If this had of been how the game actually went I think the game could have easily skyrocketed into my fave of the series. The story presented there sounds amazing. It would have been so cool to see it all play out like that. I love FFXV but this just sounds so much more powerful.
You know in hindsight we should have guessed Bahamut was a Caelum. He's got the ability to summon swords, don't he? Kinda kicking myself for missing something so obvious now.
But all in all this was an awesome video Pez. Videos like these are what made me subscribe in the first place. I love your streams and your theories about older games but raw speculation and breaking down lore like you did here are my personal favorite's :) Looking forward to more!

That's the biggest hole left in the story. And yeah, Bahamut played some cruel games trying to destroy it. But how is it that the crystal just absorbed it all as soon as they killed him?

It is suggested in Ardyns story that it is a plague just like any other, one that happens to exist one day with no specific details how. It's just that this plague is more powerful than anyone expected so the Gods intervene and well that's everything in 15 starts
There's a new ending? So the game I bought played and beat within a month of the release isn't even the true game? Is this just what the world is now? Unfinished garbage sold at full price to the audience, only to be refined and re released for more money? Movies be made, released and then re released with unfinished scenes for more money? I hate.

The sheer enthusiam coming out of pez has made me excited when hearing about the story. Epic storytelling pez and yes it does sound like classic Final Fantasy. On to the next adventure my fellow Peseantz and hopefully for more stories from Tabata san.
Absolutely criminal that this didn't happen. Today is April 6, 2021 and I just recently beat ffxv a few days ago... and I bought it when it came out. I'm a final fantasy nut. I had over 100 hrs of gameplay when I stopped playing when it came out because the story didn't grip me at all. And that is because I didn't really know who Arden was, what his role was, how deep the game was really supposed to be. This is because we now live in an age where they release a 30 hour game and expect u to buy 10 different DLCs and watch the movie first and read the books. Does anybody else miss the days when u could just buy a Fantasy game and EVERYTHING WAS IN THE GAME ITSELF!? Hearing you tell this alternate ending Blew My Fucking Mind! If this had happened opposed to the ending we got it probably would've been one of my favorite fantasy games instead of the least favorite. In terms of story this alternate ending would only be behind 7 and 8 for me as much as I also love 10 and 13. It's just a real shame that I had to watch a ton of utube videos to find out who Arden was and what his story was like and see that bahamut is the real villain. Kind of important, dont ya think? Dont ya think these vitally important aspects of the story should've been in the actual fucken game? Unbelievable. This book sounds amazing though, just so unfortunate we dont get to play it on screen. :(

This feels like a fun alternate ending to me, but I'm not upset with the ending we got after Episode Ardyn, which made everything make sense (at least to me). I liked that FFXV didn't have a traditional "Kill God" ending, that its themes of sacrifice and accepting fate stood in opposition to XIII's. Honestly this ending feels like fanservice to me. The game was meant to have a bittersweet ending; tying everything up in a neat little bow like this and letting all the characters survive undermines the themes of the whole narrative and just feels like a way to appease fans who couldn't handle the real ending
Also, are the people saying "Why wasn't this in the base game?" just total fucking idiots? It wasn't in the original game because it had never been planned, and they came up with it as wish fulfillment for fans who couldn't handle the real ending
When they announced the dlcs where cancelled, I died on the inside and I swear I would sell square my soul to get this in a game....

Dawn of the Future should've been FFXV-2. Forget cancelled episodes. I think if it had remained as just episodes, it would've furthered a lot of those complaints that call it an "incomplete game".
I think FFXV was complete, just through a limited perspective (Noctis'). But this "FFXV-2" could've subverted that completeness, by revealing the other perspectives, and then even going in and further changing the ending. That would have been tricky, but could've easily been done by saying the ending we originally saw was still just what Noctis was viewing in the Crystal. Simple enough. Some would've thought it cheap, but it canonically works.

This makes me so MAD! I tried to always argue that what we got was a complete game and everything was just extra stuff because the core game revolved around Noct. But this just proves that we got something incomplete. Hell, I would have taken this in the form of an anime series like the anime leading to the game was or movie like Kingsglaive or Advent Children. So many fans probably aren't going to read this and are going to miss out on so much.
Nice Video Peasant. I guess I'm kind of lucky. I only bought the windows edition of FF XV earlier this year, partly to help with the lockdown and partly because I've never played a FF game before this one. So I didn't have the waiting for new updates like the rest of you and got the full experience in one hit. With all the additional footage, I did find the original storyline quite engaging and that final campfire scene is an emotional beatdown I've not had in a game for quite some time. However, as I worked my way through the DLCs, It did feel that there was an even better story hiding in plain sight. I only found out the final DLCs were cancelled after I completed Ignus, so it was a little gutting. Since then I bought the English version of Dawn of the Future, which has given me closure for the whole story (And what I would give for an AudioBook with the existing voice cast) but the fact we never got to play it, was such a shame. So, I guess it's time to let go of FF XV. It's only been nine months for me and it's hard to say goodbye, so goodness knows how people who've been playing this game since 2016 feel.
Praying for FFXV remake in 50 years. I don't even need to see it I can die the day after it's announced.

When playing fifteen I knew that there were different timelines. And when noctis sacrifices himself to save the world at the end I knew that it wasn't the true or happy ending. Something was missing.
I began thinking of ways it could have gone different and this is exactly what I imagined!! (Never would have thought of deamon queen Luna though but that's epic) The kings (Noct and ardyn) of light and their comrades along with the lesser god's standing against a mad grand God who wants to wipe everyone and everything out.
To me this is perfect. The true happy ending as Luna comes back at the end, all the bros reunited and ardyn being redeemed then the ending wedding finally taking place in altisia. I couldn't wish for anything else to make this better.
It's a absolute crime that square never added it in like this. It's a betrayal in my mind.
I think they should add it as a large update for those who have taken every route in the main character Doc's and have seen every ending. They should all lead up to this as the final TRUE timeline.
This was actually amazing Pez, I didn't like that Somnus' character got a bit of redemption cause I think that takes away from Ardyns story a bit and, plus if you believe that the ends dont justify the means then Ardyn still made all the right choices at the time, he saved more than Somnus and was a better king. Definitely gonna have to get a copy of this book. One thing I did notice though was a distinct lack of demonslayer Iris, that's a shame

Powerful and compelling stuff! After hearing this, I finally feel at peace with the conclusion of the game. So much depth here. I particularly enjoyed the fact that Somnus' perspective was explained and that the two brothers were able to work together in the end. I am satisfied.

@@angelsdoexist Actually it does considering the final fantasy 13 trilogy where the FNC started and 13 versus was a part of that before it became ff15. So yeah 15 has been burrowing themes, lore and story ideas from it.
Don't know if anyone mentioned this, but demon Luna's design is based off the logo of ff15. Pretty cool.
I have to say this was a really interesting and heartfelt alternative to the game's original ending. I also really liked what they added to the Somnus and Ardyn relationship. I really wish that at least could have been added into the main game. Ardyn's redemption was also really well done. With all that said...I still think I prefer the original more tragic ending to the story. This was a great what-if scenario though and I'm sad that I'll never get to play it properly.

Cuz this is the 4th or 5th official timeline and each one we see is closer to the perfect ending with this timeline being the best one yet
