It's funny that people think Foxworthy is some bumpkin from the south. His father was actually an IBM executive and Jeff worked in mainframe maintenance at IBM for 5 years.
Definitely, he's also always been real christian and he runs groups in Atlanta/GA that helps people get back on their feet. He spoke at a church I was going to for a short while and he is a real great person.
It's that accent, man, and years if media stereotyping. Half my relatives are from the south and im still prejudiced.
If you’re actually southern, you can tell the difference between bumpkins and the rich ones. Anyone doing standup comedy is automatically excluded from being a true bumpkin, as all the real bumpkins are at home getting drunk with their friends because they either 1) can’t afford the comedy club or 2) can’t be bothered to drive an hour to get to the nearest city big enough to have a comedy club 😂
I’m from a farming family in a rural town in Alabama and my graduating class was 30-40 kids-I know a bumpkin or two 🤠
A lot of comedians like, Jeff Foxworthy, Andrew "Dice" Clay, George Lopez, Dan Whitney AKA "Larry The Cable Guy" develop a stage character for their live shows.

Rodney definitely reached back to help those who came after him.
And in return those people reached around Rodney.
He helped some HUGE names get off the ground, he had an uncanny eye for talent, he knew who could get famous...he was generous and really intelligent...RIP
Once Jeff got famous he did the same for others who came after him. And the cycle continued...
Those guys revere him. That kind of generosity pays dividends.
