My parents grew up during the depression. I was a baby boomer. They taught me you can be poor but not look poor. We lived with bare essentials were poor. I remember the toes cut out of my shoes when they were to small, wearing cardboard in the soles because they were worn out. Had 2 pairs of underwear and 1 pair of socks washed out everynight stuck in register vents and if coal furnace went out during night went to school wet clothes. But I learned how to economize,we didn’t have fancy meals but mom taught me how to stretch a meal. Didn’t have lunch meat but pb & j, creme cheese jelly sandwich. All with home made jelly from picked berries in woods, canned all our fruits and vegs. The lessons I learned as a child carried my family through hard times in my younger married years when my husband was out of work and also during Covid. I don’t regret being born and living poverty it has made me the frugal person I am today.
My dad passed away when i was 23. Im 66 now. Miss him so much. My beautiful, caring mom is 89 and the matriarch of the family. I think she keeps living just to keep our family together. ❤ love her... for being my mom!
💛
I was adopted at 2 & my dad had a 6th grader education (born in 1936) and my mama had an 8th grade education (born in 1944). Daddy was a truck driver, alcoholic and gambler. Mama worked hard to make ends meet the best she could. I grew up literally with only love. We lived in a 2- room shack with no running hot water & an outhouse until I was 10. We moved into a 1969 single wide trailer and I thought it was a mansion. Both have since passed but as a teacher this life was my testimony. I wouldn’t change it for the World. It has helped me be a better empathetic teacher for the last 20 years❤❤
💛
My dad was diagnosed with MS when I was a kids, he loved me so much! Daddy died when I was 15, it made me a mess, I had also been dumped by my boyfriend just weeks before Daddy died. I felt like I was totally abandoned by men I loved. My mom raised us 3 kids by herself. She did the best she could do. My mom was always a classy dresser. She was dressed to the T all the time. She passed away in 1992 from cancer and emphysema. My brother and sister and I all went in different directions. I loved Mom and Daddy!!
My parents met in Austria while my grandfather and father were in the military there. My mom didn’t work until I was in 11th grade. They raised 6 kids and only had one car after my dad was 30. Most of my clothes were made by my grandmother until I was 13teen. We didn’t have much money, got a treat once a month, tv 3 hours a day while in Germany, but I saw castles, all of Italy, and Holland during tulip time. I loved it.
💛
My parents were farm folks, hardworking and down to earth. Dad was 25, mom was 16 when they married (back in 1940). Both extremely smart, dad was always finding ways to pose real life questions that made us think. Mom only attended school through 8th grade but was lightning fast with math - I learned how to figure percentages in my head at a very young age while shopping with her. Dad was a farmer, a farm machinery mechanic and could charm any animal into being his friend. Like most farm wives, my mother cooked everything from scratch… always a huge meal on the table and often hauled food to the field to feed dad & others (no paper plates, always real dinnerware and utensils). She could hang wallpaper like a pro, sewed clothes, crocheted like a dream, cooked & canned, kept our 100+ year old house as clean as possible, and worked outside the home for many years. Lost them both within 2 years, over 25 years ago.
Dad had an 8th grade education and was the sole supporter of our family of 8. Mom stayed home and cared for the 6 kids. We were blessed with the best parents!
💛
My parents were hard working. We lived in a small town, they taught us values and good work ethics. Although we didn't have a lot of money my mom always cooked the best food. She and my dad always grew a huge garden and my mom would preserve the vegetables, because the garden was so big they shared with the neighborhood. They always said "God has blessed us so we can bless others". We never lacked in love. I am now 61 years old and still love to cook & preserve food the way my mama taught me
💛
My mother died when I was 8 but my dad died at 92 he was the best in his later years.all in all I am grateful for my life
My dad was a printer in NYC. He always helped me with my homework. I never went without a thing he was my biggest fan! My mom was my biggest supporter. She was their to guide me and to make mistakes. We moved to the projects when I was 14 after my dad died. I realized we were poor.I worked to get extras things in high school. I worked to get myself through college. My mom was so proud. I miss her she died in 1990.
💛
My mom was an amazing woman. She was generous to a fault with both her time and treasure. She worked in the school cafeteria and was our Girl Scout leader. When she passed, when I was 18, it was a tragedy to our whole community. My dad, who is still with us at 88, is a charmer. He's one of those that everyone loves. My parents were quite a pair!
💛
Thank you 🙏 I can’t believe all the things they have for gardens that would be very useful. I am looking forward to my next trip to Aldi.
When my parents were young they took care of everything and everybody in our family. I moved in with them several years ago to help take care of them since they were getting up in years and needed help. Dad passed away in August at 90 years old and Mom has dementia and I continue to care for her at home. God Blessed them with long life and loving family.🙏
💛
I grew up with 10 other siblings, my grandfather, my mom's brother and we had a 3 bedroom row home. I was so blessed to have amazing parents. We didn't have a whole lot but we had each other and parents who raised up to help others, love each other and always be there for each other
My mom taught all of us ( 8 boys and 3 girls) to cook , clean, laundry ect
My mom passed at the age of 54, she was a blessing to all that knew her .I can remember being very young and she loved to take rides. She packed up probably 8 if us. One of my old brothers would drive
We never mew were we would ever up lol. One day we drove downtown to center city Philadelphia and she took whatever was in her pocket and gave it to the homeless people. ( My dad was a greyhound bus driver) we were watching all the homeless people. They were so excited and had smiles on there faces. We all knew then that we were so blessed to have a mom who gave the last of her money to other who really needed it. Love, kindness , compassion and a big heart mom had. We had such a great day. I miss my parents, but I never regret one day of being apart of such a big family and learning to love , laugh and enjoy each day and it was your last. My mom had me on Christmas day and the neighborhood were all worried that she would have me at home, lol
She told them she had 8 other children and she needed to have a wonderful Christmas day for them ( Mom was in labor all day) once everyone was feed, had a great Christmas, bathed and in bed she said it's time. So we had an amazing upbringing and always had fun, all because one woman who loved her life , her family and friends ❤️
Hi Amy! I found the Trespassing sign today! Yoo Hoo! It's going in the mulch next to my raised vegetable beds.
My mother retired from London Fog years back. She had her hands full with my 3 sisters and I. Shes 87.
My Dad was a Army Veteran. He was retired from the Chessie and the B&O Railroad. He passed away 3 years ago. He was my buddy. He and I watched the NBA, College Basketball,
And I grew being a Celtics fan, as Larry Bird was my Dads favorite player back then.
I'm still a Celtics fan to this day.
He was a hunter, and he and I loved trout fishing.
I could talk bout my Dad all day. He is missed very much.
He would have been 90 this July.
He passed away on the morning of the Inserection on the US Capital, on Jan 6th.
As a Army Veteran, he would of been very disappointed. ❤🤍💙
💛
My parents were of the WWII generation. My Dad served in the Army as a Mess Sergeant. My Mom was a Rosie the Riveter in Linden, NJ.
💛
My dad and mom were born in the late 30's. My dad was an educator and was always in that mode at work and at home. He was a kind and loving man, but passed away when I was 11yrs old. My mom was my best friend. She missed her calling as a nurse. She cared for my 2 aunts, my uncle and my grandparents until they passed
She even cared for my amputee brother until she was 83 and passed. She was selfless and so loving and I miss her so much!!❤❤❤
💛
My parents are amazing. I’m so blessed to have a dad stepmom mom and stepdad. And they all get along!!!
I don't need the quarter keep, I finally scored 3 the last time my Aldi had them. My Mom was a single mom when my Dad abandoned her, my little sister and I when I was 12. We went from 2 incomes to one and our standard of living rose. I am grateful for the good and hard times growing up. It makes me grateful for my life and helps me understand people more❤
💛
Thank You Amy and chewy. Have a Wonderful Blessed Day. ♥️♥️🙏🙏♥️♥️🐾🐾
I'm alot like my mom. She loved anything crafty or doing home improvements. My dad had a green thumb & loved gardening. They are both gone and I miss them every day! ❤
💛
My parents didn't have much money but they were both hard-working and gave all eight of us kids something to work for
I love my pan. I have had in for a little over a year. Looks brand new still. Doesn’t stick and cleans like a dream.
My parents are the absolute best. my mom is my best friend and my dad is so helpful when I need him. They are my biggest fans!
My parents were dairy farmers and taught us how to work hard by example. At a young age we learned that begging was a no-no. They said if they had said yes we wouldn't have asked the 2nd time so no need to ask again for a no. Mom also drilled it into us to look good for the good in every situation.
💛
I'd buy the mini protein bars for $7.99....anytime you can get them for under a dollar, even if they're mini, is a decent price.
The Yasso mint chocolate chip bars are yummy!
Thank you
Good morning Amy ❤🌼🌸 Mom was the boss, horrible cook, step- father adopted all 3 of us. He was quiet, worked a lot, funny , he was great on the grill. Grandmother was more of a mom to me❤ oh wow winter storm! The tornado funnel cloud went over my house at about 5:00pm Tuesday, then crossed the highway 1.5 miles away and was gone really fast. Didn't touch down tho!!🙏it was 74° and today its 40° 🥶lol😂
Good morning!
Always look forward to your videos, Amy. 😊
My parents were definitely hippies. ❤
My experience with the frying pans and pots is that if you drop things a lot, don't buy them. The first time I dropped one, the lid never fit right after that. Thanks for the video.❤
Good to know!
My family loves the Mint Chocolate Yogart Ice cream sticks. Costco also has them. I don't like mint so I've never had them but family loves them.
I'm here in sunny Florida 🌞...sending you and 🐕 warmth.
My parents were wonderful. My dad died of heart attack at 53 years old so I feel like he missed so much of my life. My mom was amazing also.
Love Aldi. I need to go more.
💛
Was ADOPTED> So parents were special!!!
My parents stayed in their marriage for me, though an earlier split would have been much better. Please enter me in the quarter holder.
Thank You Amy! It’s always a pleasure shopping with You!! 😉
You are so welcome!
Thank you Amy. My oldest daughter loves that yogurt. They were stationed in Iceland ( 6 months the closed the Air Force base), she found it was a more natural kind unlike our brands. I saw some items I need to jump on as soon as they hit the shelves.😅. Hugs 😊❤
💛
WoW lotsa goodies I will try to order! TFS 💕
I am the youngest of three, the "baby" of the family. I always knew that I was loved by my parents. They ended up not being able to live their lives together after 25 years of marriage but I never saw/heard them say an angry word to each other. Sadly, I lost my father last year but sso very thankful to still have my mother.
💛
Great video Amy. I have the potting soil sitting in my garage for three years. Hopefully it will be still good when we get around to using it.
I hope so too!
I have started counting on these to let me know whether to go to Aldis on Wednesday morning. I was going to get the rain chains on sale this week, but still deciding (probably be gone before I get them).
I am so glad I can be helpful
I had a great childhood mom was the boss dad was more laid back. We lived in a great neighborhood and had lots of fun. My parents did divorce but stayed friends; they just didn’t work as married. I guess I was lucky.
💛
I have a few Aldi pots. I like them. Especially the one pot dupe...
The Mediterranean Veg blend makes a great addition to vegetarian lasagna.
Thanks for the tip!
If you're a fan of pork rinds, I highly recommend the Turkey Creek Dill or Chili Lime. I have had both & I really like them. I try to watch my carb intake so these are a great snack.
Good to know!
I have used the hearts of palm pasta before and really like it. Never tried the rice.
I love the pans and I love the boots 🥾 I try to get all of them when they have them.
I'm gonna get that ginger peach tea , Thank you Amy

Bummer
Thanks for sharing ❤️
You are so welcome
Thanks Amy
You are so welcome!
My parents were the best! I just lost my mom to cancer. She was my best friend. There are so many moments my heart breaks in grief. I know that we all lose our parents at some point in our lifetime. I lost my dad many years ago. It seems extra hurtful to lose your last living parent. It is like I lost my person. My parents were good people, if I could pick anyone in the world to have as parents it would be them.
💛
I am so sorry for your loss.
@@lisadunham7173 Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I like the shelf. I place the heaviest items on the bottom shelf.
Thank you

My mom and dad got a divorce when I was 5. I will be 65 years old in June. My husband and I have been married for 43 years.

Thank you!
❤
Yes I hear the rain. We have it to cali lady.😂
I was looking for a pressure washer. Anyone ever purchased this in the past Please let me know if you liked it 😉
My dad was an angry man and my mom was not very loving?❤
💕💕💕
My mom was from Berlin and met my dad during the war. They were fun and totally awesome I dividuals. Miss them both. Thanks for the video. Jw is the weed trimmer heavy to hold, easy to use?
Not really heavy more than any others in that price range. It's just very powerful and scares me. For someone else I am sure it's fine
🦋❤️
Yogurt yum! THICK!
Hi Amy so many yummy things i want to try 😊
Hi 👋
I just bought garden soil it was 4.99...
😊👍👋
Siggi’s yogurt is very good..thick. This yogurt is not sweet at all. If you like real fruity & sweet, this is not. That’s why I like it.
My parents were much older than Me as I was the last of Ten Children…They were stern and no nonsense type of people But Family was always their main focus so anytime they could turn a day into a celebration it was “game on!!!” Holidays, BBQ’s, Camping trips, fishing trips, the list is endless with Family Fun Filled Memories…They were definitely the “Glue” that held Us Together and They Are Missed Greatly and Remembered Often…🙏🏽🫶🏻✌🏼
Morning I’m in NJ so we had that rain n wind till this morning but finally the sun is out have a great day 😊
