You tell us that the cage supports the Lumix XLR Audio adapter, I was wondering if that space for the Audio Adapter is designed only for that specific hot shoe attachment.
I looked at how much the cage, the handle and the lsd holder from the camera cost .... The cage is made of gold or something, 390 euro, and this is only a cage.... Also, the vaunted viewfinder does not spin after connecting a microphone and hdmi
Try to visit Netherlands and check their income and apartments costs :-) So, for EU made item it is cheap. US cages can be even mroe expensive sometimes. As for VF - it is still only solution that resable old famous Varavon cage :-)
Yes, this is that I mean. But note that cheap cages are usually not same as expensive anyway. As they are mostly die cast (only minimal CNC), cheaper alu, worst though overall. SmallRig now is king of affordable cages - check them.

Would a loupe + rear screen be a better combination than an evf? I am usually on manual focus and find that the evf is too small for manual focusing

Original design idea is yes - specific to adapter, but if Godox thing will fit - it'll work same good.
