    Hey Kristi, first off you definitely know your colors and your work is so amazing!! . Its mid 2023 now, have you found any other root shadow formulas that are your faves at this point for a dark blonde tone with minimal warmth? I respect your input. Thanks :)

    I know that obtaining such a light color can be difficult & is also very time consuming. The results are really pretty & your blend is quite impressive ☺️ however it is my strong opinion that one of the reasons you had continuous issues with getting the hair to fully lift to that 10 level, getting it lift more evenly along with why it got “stuck” at that level 8 you spoke of is because of using a level 20 developer & the “watered down” mixture while doing the bleaching. I am familiar with how amazing the Schwarzkopf developers & products are but an amazing 20 volume developer isn’t necessarily going to be amazing trying to lift a very thick level 5 hair to a 10. I def would’ve used a 30 vol in the new hair & maybe the 20 on the old. Her hair wouldn’t have gotten stuck at that level 8 or been so uneven if you had. But you probably realize that at this point. Everyone’s hair is different of course, but my thought was she probably should’ve been finished in like 4.5 hrs. Good thing you guys enjoy each other’s company lol.

      @hairbykristijennings6648  3 роки тому +3

      Oh yeah, I feel like I get worse lift with 30 vol. It doesn't keep its lifting power in my opinion. When i have used 30 I feel like it doesn't lift as good. The first few foils but after that it definitely slows down and doesn't lift as well. I personally prefer taking a low and slow approach to prevent damage. Especially with BlondeMe swelling, I'd hate to have any over lapping with 30 vol. Besides that I know I am a slower foiler tho. Her hair honestly just has lots of warmth to it as it lifts cause some people with even darker hair can get better lift..... everyone lifts differently I guess.

      @@hairbykristijennings6648 you’re right, I’ve definitely seen some 30 vol lose its lifting power, but I’ve been able to thwart that annoying inconvenience & had fantastic results using Redken. But again, we’re all different in our techniques & products. It’s really what makes this a very creative craft! I can’t argue though, all of your reasons are certainly valid for avoiding damage etc. You shared that as you went along too & no, you DEFINITELY don’t want to risk overlapping bleach! Even though my approach would have been different, there’s no denying the beautiful results & I’m most impressed by the blend. Nice chatting.

      Oh wow..... it really depends on the goal. If it's to be cool, a minority of an ashy shade but enough natural so that it doesn't grab TOO ashy. Everyone is different really and hard to say.

    All the numbers of the formulas are quite confusing to amateurs Kirsty. I want a nice cool smoky ash with no warmth that lasts and doesn't go warm after time... So 6.12 and 8.11 ? Is that igora?

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  Рік тому +1

      That’s igora and the number system is just how some lines label their colors. Keep in mind that all ashy tones go warm.

    Any advice on using blonde-me and the foils swelling? I mix according to instructions. I don’t usually use oloplex.Does the oloplex help with the swelling?

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  4 роки тому +2

      Yes!!!! I talk about this every now and then in videos... I add like little bit of water.... not much just enough to thin it out a little. This has helped so much and others have said so too. Not sure if olaplex contributes to swelling
