He is a legend. He was out of his comfort zone. He didn't fit in. But, he finished in a Bob Dylan way. He didn't quit, like one did, and didnt turn it down. All that deserved respect.

About twenty. Obviously you're a clown and you only know black music. I'm not even a Bob Dylan fan but to say he isn't a legend is ridiculous. He's every bit as much of a legend as Tina Turner for pretty much anyone else in that room aside from maybe Michael Jackson and Bruce springsteen

@@rjchiedogWhat are some of the songs that made The Doors or Howlin Wolf or Van Morrison legends? Oh wait you have to Google search them don't you. Just because YOU don't think he's a legend doesn't mean shat. Personally if Quincy Jones, Bruce Springfield and Lionel Richie believe that man is legendary I think your comment again means absolutely fkn nothing.

Just watched the documentary. My husband is 57 and is a huge Bob Dylan fan! I’m 52 and didn’t know him as well. My husband explained to me what a legend he was and he absolutely should’ve been part of this collaboration. He adds his own style in such a beautiful way. I can’t listen to this song without crying and remembering all the images of children dying by the hour in Ethiopia. EVERYONE donated to the cause. EVERYONE!!! I miss those times when Americans were united. This song is timeless…

  • @ashleev4605

You should give Bob more credit. He was one of the first in line to sign up for the cause. The point was to have diversity to reach a more broad audience. Bob happens to be amazing at what he does and he was out of his element. The cause mattered more to him. So you’re just being mean for no good reason. Plus…Watch the documentary…you’ll learn why he isn’t singing the full chorus. Might not be high either…He stayed all night and recorded his part at like 6 am.

Quincy was making a charity record. He wanted different colors, different styles and the biggest superstars united on one song. If the purpose was to make a Soul music joint, James Brown would have been the right person. We have Country guys here, Pop-Rock singers, Jazz singers, so the Folk champion is at the right place. First he was lost in this crowdy different universe, but he stayed till the end, he tried hard to do it right and put a lot of heart in it. Finally he did it perfect

I watched the documentary on Netflix and part of why they chose Dylan and the others is because they were trying to get artist who sell lots of records and Dylan would fit that bill because he has a large following even if you don’t like his voice. Also for the choral parts, they didn’t want people singing in different octaves or harmonies, so those who couldn’t sing the melody because it was out of their range were asked to not sing.

Bob was the best thing about it ....what ya talking about ..the fact he even showed up ..shows that he was there for the true purpose to try n make a difference...the rest was there to boost there profile...Bob didn't care nothing for all that malarkey....Bob is the man

Bob Dylan contributed greatly to this song...if you don't like him..fine. Bob Dylan is a high functioning Autistic. He is having trouble dealing with the number of people, the chaos, the late night and anything that is setting him off.
Quincy Jones gave him credit for singing during one of the parts.. He said that's beautiful man.
Bob Dylan's tribute to folk music is a celebration.

Dylan as one of the best parts!!! Why so much hate. They said it in the documentary, he was uncomfortable because of how many people their were.

Bob Dylan is a legend of you listen to all of them talk about it they were all a little nervous there were greats in there ! Bob Dylan is a shy man and he didn’t want to step on toes. We are the world is a great great song and video. That was back when people weren’t crazy like they are now. The whole industry is shot

Dylan was acting like this is because “we are the world” this kind of song is just not his thing. It’s not kind of a song he is used to sing. However he still try hard to express this song in his own way. He could’ve just refuse to join this “life saving” project but he still join it even the recording process was not comfortable for him (he is a very private person). Dylan was so respectable.

When you know about the We Are The World story, you will understand Bob Dylan's behavior. Dude, this is like 4a after the Grammys. All those artists did not rehearse, everything was improvised at the last minute. If you look at some of the performers, they looked lost.

If you watch the documentary as you said, you should why he didn’t sing in that part. He wasn’t the only one though. But because he was “a legend among legends”, the attention was kinda on him more than others.
