I just got one of these as a Xmas present from the wife. I'm glad that I ran across your video as this will take away a lot of the trial and error of figuring this thing out. The side by side comparison of the different modes was fantastic. Thanks!
Great video! Thank you. I'm a 75 yo great grandma, living in an apartment now, where we're not allowed to have gas grills. My Ninja Woodfire Smoker/Grill is expected to be delivered TOMORROW! I'm so excited. I'm a visual/verbal processor, also. So I now feel ready to try it immediately! Thanks SO much.
Great video, just what I needed to get started, I have a Ninja Foodi, too, so have some idea how to use my woodfire grill but your video was so useful. I just muddled through this evening but feel more confident after listening to your video. Thanks from a very happy 73 yo, grandma in the UK. Cannot wait to have the family around for a barbie.
Just got our Ninja Grill and smoker for Christmas. Your video was so informative and gave me far more confidence in using it. Also purchased all the accessories. Am so looking forward to using it now. Thank you so much and I subscribed to be able to watch your other videos and tips for using this great appliance. We love the other Ninja products we own.
Just bought one of these over in the UK, although our temperatures are different this was a fantastic start up video! Looking forward to smoking some brisket this weekend! Thank you 🔥
We got one for Christmas. Going to use it tonight for the first time. I'm used to an offset smoker, a pit Barrel cooker and a cast iron grill. So this will be different.
Great video. Our outdoor grill was on its last leg...2 years ago, I dont use it and say prayer each time hubby goes to ignite it. This is a great alternative.
Very well done instructions and demo! Best I've seen so far. I'm in my 70's and downsized from my Weber Silver I bought in 2006. It's a relief to have a good electric grill that is portable now.
I took delivon the XL today. Ran it through the initial burn in, then used your recipe and setting for three different cooks with the thighs as you did. The family loved all three types as I did too. Great device and smokes and cooks fast.
Thank you for the video. Due to new apartment restrictions, I'm having to get rid of my Weber smoker and go electric. The Ninja is quite impressive and gives me hope!
It’s very versatile grill and this is a very comprehensive how to. A few notes: it’s very compact and portable I use it even as a second side grill at friends parties, doing apps and whatnot-(the performance is guaranteed to impress your friends) but as an electrician, it pulls 1750 watts, which will blow a 15 amp breaker in a lot of situations. The solution is carry an extension cord to pick up a “clean” circuit. Invest in a short extension cord with min #14 conductor and even # 12 conductors if using over 100 feet. This overcomes voltage drop which adds to the life expectancy and the performance of the grill Secondly, using Pam on the hot plates as well as the drip pan, makes clean up considerably easier. Third, The thermometer is a pricey option, but it does make cooking fully automated and virtually idiot proof if you are entertaining while cooking Lastly I’m torn on cleaning the inside of the lid. Grease and smoke will build up which adds a unique flavor patina over time (which I like) but the grease inevitably drips down the sides, making a bit of a mess.
I just got my Ninja Woodfire Grill a few days ago and am ready to do all that it says it does and this video will help me get started. I like to SEE what's going on and how this little grill works. I can't wait to watch more of your videos. I'm now a subscriber. Thank you for sharing. P.S. LOVE the shirt! 👍
Hi! Just received my Ninja & found you here on UA-cam! So happy I did because like you I too am a visual learner! What a great video for first time users1. Thank you so much & I will continue to watch you here!!!!
Was unsure whether we should get the Ninja grill. Now watched a couple of your vids. Convinced. Will follow your other vids. From Bonnie Scotland, Bill
We've just bought one of these, your video is absolutely brilliant, thank you for sharing with us, with what you just showed us I think it'll be easier and a lot less hassle than an ordinary BBQ. We have Family coming next weekend so I am looking forward to using our Ninja to cook them some delicious food...
There's a killer father's day deal on HSN of all places so I got the XL today. Can't wait for it to be delivered. You and CJ are the best recipe and how-to channels. I'm eat mostly protein so this is going to be a game changer for how much variety I have. I've been sleeping on Air-frying so I'm looking forward to trying that feature. Smoking always rules of course.
Great video, exactly what I was looking for to learn more about my new Ninja! Thank you for the detailed explanations and demonstrations, I learned a lot! I appreciated that you explained everything at a reasonable speed and didn’t rush thru it. I liked, subscribed, and rang the bell, looking forward to more videos😊
Great video brother, I've followed some of your videos and the food was awesome, alot of great tips and tricks that made it easy for me than just winging it on my own, much appreciated and please keep them coming.
I have the same model as you first let me say I really needed to watch your video. I destroyed a porterhouse steak tonight. Won’t do that again. Loved your video and I’ll keep watching your others. I have the same model as yours as stated, and was confused by the Bluetooth setting and finally assumed this model does not come with that.??? that’s assuming if it’s even needed the app. Thank you.
There are multiple models and this one did not have Bluetooth. An easy way to identify one of those models is they will have built-in thermometers. However, you can buy a wireless thermometer and do everything else except control the grill with this model and the wireless thermometer.
I started using the regular ninja woodfire grill (just grill, smoker, air fryer settings are only available) and watching your channel, you've given me a lot of great tips. I do have a question on using the smoke setting only and I'm not finding any answers anywhere. It enables me to change the temp setting, but it will only allow me to go up to 12 minutes and nothing higher. If I use grill or air fry settings, the temp and timer both can be increased a lot more. Anybody have any suggestions, or is my unit having a problem? Please keep up with the great videos and recipe's.
Just grabbed one of these on sale in France. Like great grandma below, I can't have gas or coals in the building. It's being delivered in 3 days and I'm heading to clean the terrasse. One question regarding re-igniting the hopper. Does pressing and holding for 3 seconds also stop the ignition? Looking forward to more videos. Just subscribed. 🔥🥩🥦🫑🌶
Great video. Using mine for the first time tomorrow weather permitting here in the UK. Going to do a whole chicken. What setting/tips would you suggest? 😊
I'm considering purchasing one of these as I like the versatility and ease of use for smoking. I am also considering a pellet grill. I believe the name is confusing as to what the Ninja Woodfire Grill actually is - an electric grill that is capable of smoking. The pellets are used strictly for smoking and not as a heat source like a pellet grill. My wife won't use my Weber gas grill and a woodburning, charcoal or pellet is more involved than she is willing to do. Therefore, an electric grill makes sense.
After using a full size pellet grill I can say that where the Woodfire really shines is ease of use. The startup and cleanup procedures are SO MUCH less time consuming.
I am using my new Woodfire grill for the first time and appreciate your visual cooking tips. I watched your video about testing different wood chips on the Ninja and you smoked the chicken thighs at 300 for 20 minutes. On this video you smoked the thighs at 375 for 20 minutes. Any noticeable differences in smoke taste or juiciness as you said both were completely cooked? Also do you ever use non-stick cooking spray on the air fry or grilling surfaces? Thanks for the videos.
The lower temp is smokier but the higher temp has a better skin texture. As far as juiciness they were both equal really. I never feel the need for any non stick spray. The coating on the ninja is so good.
I had an issue where my descriptions got nuked and I had to redo them. I forgot to add the link. Here it is: The BEST Wings I've EVER MADE! Ninja Woodifire Airfried/Smoked with Filipino Adobo BBQ Glaze!!! ua-cam.com/video/e2qYI_zwed8/v-deo.html
17:16 My guess as to why the chicken cooked more on the smoker setting is because the plate was getting hot And it's pushing that heat directly into the chicken versus when it's in the basket it only has air flowing around it.
Terrific video - got our grill about a week ago and haven't tried it yet. Looking thru the recipes that came with it, they have a smoked baby back ribs recipe - the ribs come out in the picture as SO very black. Honestly, they don't look very appetizing to me. Are all smoked foods black like that?
Just picked one up at Kroger on clearance for $180. I already have gills and smokers... but I couldn't pass this up! Also, I thought the fountain in the background was smoke coming out of the grill LOL.
The rule of thumb with any extension cable on anything use thinker wire than on the appliance especially with 110/120 volts lower voltage higher amps. You basically said that And if you know you not doing a long cook do u fill hopper Ps I’m waiting for my mine ordered on 13th
Good tip on the extension cord. I have never tried to not fill the hopper. I would think it would have problems igniting the way the heater is set up. I will need to test it now that you mentioned it.
@@DadGotThis I think others mentioned it I’m hoping will land tomorrow need know best stuff to buy if it lands … ps I’m in Uk getting too cold outside can see me smoking joints and finishing of in indoor ninga
awesome vid can i get a Cast Iron version of that Ribbed Grill Grate you show at 1:00 would really like this if i could cook with cast iron instead of non stick thanks for makin the vid
I used it in this video: Smoked Wings & Queso dip with Smokin Pecan Pellets on Ninja Woodfire Grill for the Big Game! ua-cam.com/video/M1VbdWt3jB4/v-deo.html
This was a demonstration of each of the modes. In normal use most people would not back to back cook in different modes. Space is a consideration with smoking in the basket, you can’t fit large items like briskets, shoulders etc.
I just bought this product. Just one question; why doesn't the grill plate sit flat and level? There is a button that sits under the grill plate that keeps the plate at an angle. Does the plate lay flat when you close the lid? The grease drain would need the plate to sit flat in order to drain the grease, correct?
What kind of utensils do you use on the flattop? It's nonstick, so obviously we shouldn't use the steel flippers, etc, that we'd use on like a Blackrock.
Hi, despite the instructions stating for outdoor use only, would it be safe to use inside, or in a well ventilated caravan awning, when using only the air fryer function without the smoking pellets?
No it would not. If you had ever used pellets in it there would be residue built up inside the grill that would be released when heated up. If you are looking to use indoor they have lots of fantastic items built for that.
I would guess you can do it without, I haven't tried it. I believe the reasoning for the basket is it raises the the food off the grate allowing for better/more airflow under the food producing a better crisp.
For that you actually hold the woodfire button (the flame) not the start button. I go over that here at 16:07 in the video. ua-cam.com/video/nbMIvY3p0wg/v-deo.html
I don’t think so. You would simply take the basket out and wipe down the grate below it with a paper towel. Then cook your steak however you like. May I suggest something like this: ua-cam.com/video/M_TfcVvFhwc/v-deo.htmlsi=HDeVKGjXWZTx7X7F
@@DadGotThis ty for responding - yes hopper full - stopped grill (smoker) after about 20 min & restarted on "bake" - started smoking fairly quickly & ign displayed🤷🏼🤞

The cutting board is from IKEA. It’s called the and was about $20. The knife is a “classic”. It’s a Ken Onion Damascus Shun Chef Knife. I know it’s a mouthful. I have had it for about 13 years! It’s old. I bought it for $150 as a Christmas present to myself. It is crazy but I’ve seen them sell for like $800!

I just bought this product. Just one question; why doesn't the grill plate sit flat and level? There is a button that sits under the grill plate that keeps the plate at an angle. Does the plate lay flat when you close the lid? The grease drain would need the plate to sit flat in order to drain the grease, correct?
I through a level on mine. It is at a -1 degree pitched to the drain. That makes the grease run to the drain.
Smart money daily guy!
What kind of utensils do you use on the flattop? It's nonstick, so obviously we shouldn't use the steel flippers, etc, that we'd use on like a Blackrock.
Yeah, you have to use plastic or silicone tools.
I need that grill pan
It really is a must have accessory for the Ninja Woodfire in my opinion.
@@DadGotThis makes sense, and thanks for your quick reply :)
@@Goji_gaming_loves_god yeah the fumes would be really dangerous.
Do you have to put the chicken thighs in the tray when using the air fryer mode?
I would guess you can do it without, I haven't tried it. I believe the reasoning for the basket is it raises the the food off the grate allowing for better/more airflow under the food producing a better crisp.
Do you think if you used the flat griddle plate on HI it would create the crispiest skin??? Thanks....
I think if you can maybe get a press to keep some weight on it so the skin keeps contact and add some oil it would.
How do you reignite the pellets if you ran out? I've tried the start button but it doesn't go into that ignite mode
For that you actually hold the woodfire button (the flame) not the start button. I go over that here at 16:07 in the video. ua-cam.com/video/nbMIvY3p0wg/v-deo.html
If I air crisp hassleback potatoes then want to cook my steaks, do I have to clean the grill 1st after air crisp and before grilling the steak
I don’t think so. You would simply take the basket out and wipe down the grate below it with a paper towel. Then cook your steak however you like. May I suggest something like this: ua-cam.com/video/M_TfcVvFhwc/v-deo.htmlsi=HDeVKGjXWZTx7X7F
Great video thank you! Quick question, where did you get your shirt? I’d love to get one for my boss!!!
It is from RSVLTS, they are my favorite clothing brand hands down!
Can I use wood chips for blending instead of pellets?
I have been asked this a lot. I have not tried it so I can not give you a yes or no answer.
Thank you
I am glad I was able to help!
when i use the "smoke setting" how long does it take for pellets to smoke?? mine takes forever🤷🏼 ty!
Usually within a few minutes 5-10. Are you filling the hopper to the top? The igniter is at the top and not the bottom.
@@DadGotThis ty for responding - yes hopper full - stopped grill (smoker) after about 20 min & restarted on "bake" - started smoking fairly quickly & ign displayed🤷🏼🤞
@paulettehasty5334 did IGN show on smoker setting?
@@DadGotThis no - don't think so -
Did you possibly skip it by holding the start button down instead of just pressing it.
Question what is the sauce you used on the chicken?
I didn’t use any sauce cooking the chickens for this video. I just used salt, pepper, granulated garlic, and granulated onion.
If you are asking about the chicken at the end for the closing then it’s from this video. The BEST Wings I've EVER MADE! Ninja Woodifire Airfried/Smoked with Filipino Adobo BBQ Glaze!!!

what is that knife and cutting board you were using?
The cutting board is from IKEA. It’s called the and was about $20. The knife is a “classic”. It’s a Ken Onion Damascus Shun Chef Knife. I know it’s a mouthful. I have had it for about 13 years! It’s old. I bought it for $150 as a Christmas present to myself. It is crazy but I’ve seen them sell for like $800!
Because of this video i cooked Chicken first, do you have any Salmon videos?
Stay tuned!
