This is the best video on utube on this Ninja!! Man do i want one. I live in a apartment complex and grills are not allowed. Not going to renew the lease so in 8 months i can get one! My wife loves jerky so this will sell it to her easy!
@@DadGotThis Thanks. The fun will be greatly enhanced now I've watched a few of your vids. I love the fact that you leave your mistakes in so your viewers can learn from them too!!
Son, your video is the bomb. I just bought a Pro Connect XL and have been learning about it. Your video helped so much explaining the different settings and features. One question though,... how do you get it to make a margarita? ;-)
To change the temperature reading fromFahrenheit (°F) to Celsius (°C) press both the "+"and "-" at the same time for 3 seconds and thedisplay will change accordingly.
The only way it works with the lid open is in the Grill setting. In that setting it does not yell at you to close the lid all the time. It basically heats the bottom grate. I did notice from a user comment that it also does run the fan when you close the lid in the grill mode so it also circulates the air. You can also use the smoke feature in grill but it of course only adds smoke with the lid closed.
can anyone tell me where the second probe is, one was loose, there are two entrances to the probes, and I can't find the second probe. woodfire xl connect pro 😅
@@DadGotThis Unfortunately, in the Ninja store in the UK, there is no separate probe for this model yet 😒 thank you for your answer. I have to find something to replace it.
DGT, Would a 12" diameter Pizza Stone fit in the XL on the standard Grill Plate; Also what smoker modes (Bake, Roast, etc) support a 500 degree internal temperature? I think you know where I am going with this....
I have totally thought about that too. I need to measure but I am not sure on any round stones fitting. Maybe if there was a rectangle one like my pizza steel I use. But that thing is very heavy and would scratch the heck out of the base. I have even wondered if just the flattop would do. The only mode that does 500 is broil though. That is the issue but the other go to 450. Which could get the job done.
At 9:58 when I am going over the grill setting features I show you can turn on the Woodfire feature to use the pellets and smoke. However it will not work if the lid is open.
OK... just as I posted this, I found it! Keep up the great videos and are all your Vids geared to the use of the Ninja Grill? I plan on subscribing. Don
Not all of them are but a lot of them are right now as I currently have the Woodfire original, the XL pro Connect, and the Outdoor oven that I have been using and testing. I also have a series I just started on Propane grilling. I also have older content on Instant Pot, Sous Video and other recipes. I plan on keeping up with at least 1 Ninja Woodfire video a week and then adding in additional content on other cookers and methods. Hopefully there will be something for everyone!
I know you cannot turn it on as the BT / WiFi is powered off. But can you turn the XL OFF by the App only, or do you have to do that operation in front of the Grill?
Discovered by accident, that the XL will automatically Power Off after 15 minutes when the cook cycle has ended. Project this week is to cut down the Pizza Stone from the 12x16" size to fit the Griddle pan opening dimentions.
The only one I can really think of would be the Ninja one. I have not personally tested it though. My grills all live on a covered and screened in patio so I don't use covers. Here is a link to it though. amzn.to/4972Qey
I noticed on my in first run of this grilled some food with wood pellets and the grill closed. I then tried to grill up some burgers. It kept forcing me to close the lid even though the pellet setting was off. I like open top grilling. Pls help
I have tested this. The only setting where it works with the lid open is the grill setting. However, if you have Woodfire on with the grill setting it will give you the close lid warning. If you turn off Woodfire, make sure flame icon is off, it will not.
Great video on a great grill. It's pretty good, but it has it's issues & app is on ver1.01, so obviously needs work. The "dad shake" is actually necessary!!! It packs the pellets in better, keeps it smoking more reliably. If U don't do it then it might stop smoking, or smoke less, especially when you open the cover cause they roll to one side. Had it quit smoking several times, only way I've found is to note time left & restart the grill, grrrr! Yeah I agree the flip thing is annoying AF. Also I have never been able to connect it to WiFi & the BT connection is non-std to Android specs as it won't actually appear in you connected devices on BT! Shame! Do not put grill plate in the dishwasher! The top side would do just fine, the bottom is uncoated bare metal & will be quickly destroyed! (don't ask lol)
Reinstalling Bluetooth/wifi. Go to settings, your appliances, click on the grill, Appliance detail, delete appliance. That will take the app back to the beginning and allow you to do a complete set up. There is no other way.
My left ear is so lonely. Audio panned to one channel is a bit annoying to watch with headphones on. (Voice is always best running in MONO mode unless you have a specific stereo requirement). That aside -- LOVE all your videos. We've been running a maraton of them. Love the style.
It must have slipped through on this one. Or is it on others? I do t edit with headphones on, or watch with them on so I never noticed it. It was an issue with my wireless mic. I tried to catch it and fix it once I noticed it.
This is the best and most detailed review of all those offered on UA-cam. Thank you .
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the kind words.
I just for my XL Pro Connect! It’s so good! Cooked up a whole chicken to start
Love it!
Nice!!
Just received unit and this is the best UA-cam information video I have seen, THANKS !!!
I am glad you liked it. Check out the rest of the channel for some great recipes.

Excellent overview of the Ninja. Best one on the web
Well thank you.
I baked some biscuits with cherry smoke. Very tasty.
Sounds great!
Awesome video. Thanks. Looking forward to getting mine next month.
Have fun!

@TheJonkilleen Awesome thanks! I figure I mess it up so you don’t have to lol!
Awesome job. Just unboxed mine. Thank you - from one dad to another.
Glad I could help!
Thank you so much for these videos. It helped me tremendously.
You are so welcome!
I am looking into buying one of these and I have been watching your videos all day. I think you have me sold lol. Also subscribed for further help 👍
Thanks for the sub!
Thanks, been watching your videos all day
Glad you like them!
A totally indebted video owner’s manual of this item. Great job, I am newly subscribed. 👍🏽
Thanks for the sub!
Thanks for this! Helped me a lot, I'm so lazy to read manuals!
Glad it helped!
Really enjoy yur videos! can you tell me where you got your table? I'm not seeing much from Amazon for the XL one... Thanks!

This grill is super!😊
It really is!

You use the ninja thirsti lol! Thanks for the kind words!
Hi. Does this come with pellets or sold separately? Ty
Nice review! Please can you tell me how much space is required from the front of the grill to the back with the lid open?
It needs to be about 5.75 inches away from the wall for the XL version at least.
hi would you know how to change c to f as mine is in celsius regards clive

What table is that that you have it sitting on?

Do they have a griddle yet for the XL like they have for the older unit.

Check back today at 4 for a video using it!
Where did you get your table/stand? Do you have a link?
I have an XL grill cart for it. The fooprint is 20.5 x 18.5 inches. This is the one I use in my videos. amzn.to/3Ty5wfi
The longer the cord the thicker it needs to be. I would use at 12ga. Not the usual 14g
Good tip!
Just brought one home, what do I cook first?
Ribs are always a good first cook.
What do you use the Bake function for on the Woodfire grill?
Honestly I do not know. I never use it. I’m either using smoker, air crisp, broil and grill.
Biscuits with cherry smoke flavor 😊
I do have a pecan pie video coming up :)
Would love to see a piece of crispy Porkbelly.
I do need to do that!
can anyone tell me where the second probe is, one was loose, there are two entrances to the probes, and I can't find the second probe. woodfire xl connect pro 😅
On further research, it looks like they sold some kits that only have one probe, and you had to order the second probe as an additional cost.
@@DadGotThis Unfortunately, in the Ninja store in the UK, there is no separate probe for this model yet 😒 thank you for your answer. I have to find something to replace it.

The flip! Oh how I hate the flip lol!!!!
Buy it from Ninja. I got the grill a stand and cover a bag of pellets with the cover for 450.
That is a great deal!
Ow all you need is a robot to take it out and serve you😊😊😊
Right!!!
Tesla bots need to hurry up!

Thanks for the info! I know a lot of Android users seem to be having issues.
Aluminum grill rack, not cast iron
Disregard my last comment. I just realized you answered this at 12:28
I was grilling chicken breasts yesterday and after a few minutes of having the lid open, it kept telling me to shut the lid. Is this normal?
If you have the Woodfire on or have a probe plugged in it will yellow at you to shut the lid. To stop it make sure you do t turn on the “flame”.
@@DadGotThis Ah, ok. Thank you!

Hmmm, have you tried other phones?
It only connects to 2.4ghz wifi
