- Hey guys, GullYY here! Welcome back to another epic Polytopia competitive 1v1 video! In this video, we battle it out against DayCloud - a junior player for the Squids team on PolyChampions. The game ends up being pretty close, and there are a lot of lessons to be learned from watching this replay, especially with regard to unit placement and attacking. PolyChampions explanation: PolyChampions is a team-based competitive league for The Battle of Polytopia. Each team has a division of Junior and Pro players. Pro players demonstrate outstanding skill and understanding of the game; they are the best of the best. Junior players demonstrate a good base for understanding the game's mechanics and evaluating different game positions.

Amazing analysis GullYY! This was such a fun and dynamic match, the pressure of the live game timer, the 3 to 4 city disadvantage, and the battle for a successful push. My giant misplay there was pretty bad, but we all make mistakes and do learn from them. Overall a great match and one I will remember, great video man!

Why dont you use City Walls?
They can bei so extremly usefull
On this particular map it would mean a lot for the middle city. Archers would take longer to shoot the new unit down for sure.
I discovered this game like 5 days ago. Its so good game. But I dont have money to play it multiplayer... so I am practicing and watching your videos and trying to get better at game.

Thank you so much for your content! I love Polytopia, but before the multiplayer changes this mode wasn't very pleasant to me. Now, since the changes I see a huge difference between playing vs bots and vs experienced players, and your videos help me a lot in figuring out which tactics and strategies work, which maps are actually played - the meta, to put it simply. Much love, and keep up the good work!

On turn 15 when he giant sieged the middle city, he should have pulled is catapults south and maybe even taken the second giant towards that east city. Might have lost the middle city siege still but would be better positioned to control the unit zone around that city and kill any units produced there. Only chance he had.
Now that they have an elo system, the need to start giving out titles to players like chess.

So how could the grey player win? He couldnt run into offence and he could wait to just defend.
Essentially train a few catapults in his backlines with giants to ZoC, hold until he got chivalry and train a knight in his c2 (that I didn't have vision on.) From there he needs to hope I make a mistake and give him a chain into my backline; from there he can start a push
