5:29 It would have been optimal to move your second rider to the East North East, or better still to the North East. By doing that, you would have uncovered the second village, and would have been able to put your first rider on it on t1 instead of t2. Plus moving your second rider North East would mean you could step onto the ruin next turn as well. If the second rider didnt find a village, what you did would have been alright.
6:40 Leaving the ruins for the entire game was a massive blunder. That could have been a tech or stars or an explorer that totally changed the game in your favour. The later you get ruins the less effective they become.
8:39 Always build roads diagonally. If you'd built your roads diagonally instead of straight, you would have saved stars in connecting your other cities closer to his boarders. Also, you would have had more flexability with the giant you had just created, being able to move him 2 tiles/turn instead of 1.
8:53 You should have upgraded your c3 (that you'd just connected) with the farm. It would have been a free upgrade and gotten you an extra spt next turn. Not a big issue, but something always to be mindful of.
9:28 On dryland maps, villages can never spawn within 2 tiles of the map edge. They always spawn at least 3 tiles in. The warrior is still useful looking for ruins, but it will never find a village considering where that fog was
9:36 I don't get this road play. Never make a play that you can't benefit from IMMEDIATELY.
9:44 you could have upgraded the Easternmost city for 2 stars instead of the 5 stars it took to upgrade this city. You may be arguing that you'll need the population on that city in future, but considering you could have trained an extra rider this turn, *plus* you could have upgraded that city later, this was the wrong play.
10:30 3 fruit would have been better by 1 star. 1 star isnt a big deal until it is...
11:15 using the giant to get the ruin instead of a rider or your warrior is inefficient. If you don't get your most powerful unit in the game soon, you're out
11:19 See note from 9:36. Don't make plays that dont bring you benefit immediately. Also knights probably aren't the move here. His units are pretty well spaced. A knight won't get you much value
11:37 I'm noting that you're playing pretty fast here. Kind of reactively. You have 6 minutes on the clock. Lots of time. Slow down. Think about your plays.
12:14 see note from 8:39 lmfaooo
12:20 It's generally better to put riders ON the roads, just because in the next move they have more flexability. Keep it in mind
13:21 A major strength of the knight is that when they catch the opponent unprepared, they get crazy value. They have vision on your middle city. Now that they know you have a knight, they can prepare accordingly
13:42 why would climbing be beneficial....?
13:53 Healing that rider achieves neither goal that a rider in that position could hope to achieve; it won't capture the ruin, and it wont hit that defence boosted warrior that I'm imagining you're about to chain through.........
13:58 an oversight that could have been spotted if you'd taken some more time
    14:35 that doesnt track.
15:12 I know it's tempting to get the free heal that comes with veterancy straight away, but it's best to save it until you really need it. Let your rider get down to 1hp and then get 14 free healing, rather than just the 7 that you actually got. Squeeze as much value out of your units as you can.
15:33 Well done! The veterancy was accidental but that's exactly how I would have done it probably
15:59 woahhhh that's a lot of techs man. The fewer techs you can survive with the better
16:33 this is good insight. You never know what your opponent is thinking. In a lot of games I'm thinking to myself 'ok he has control of the water, he's getting close to my cities, I think it might be over for me'. But my opponent is thinking 'I don't think I can hold out. My economy is shot and he's going to counterattack and I'm done for'. Many times you can get an unexpected resign, which is why you should never resign. Well done MD. Good video

Wow. That's a tone of information, thank you for taking the time to write all of that out! There's a bunch of great points in here. You've managed to pin point a couple of my weaknesses, being impulsive, not taking the time to plan and rushing my turns which leads to poor calculations and lots of mistakes. I am working to overcome these shortcomings but it is taking me a little time. Thank you for your kind words, your helpful advice, and your accurate criticisms.
