Unfortunately, there have been so many iterations of the S1 wiring, I believe that the assemblers can't even keep up. I purchased an Elite Strat. Though I love the guitar, I tried 3. Looks and sounds lot like my Mexican Nashville Deluxe Tele that I got for $800 that plays fucking amazing.. Better than my American Standard does. I could buy three of them for what this costs.. Not that I'm knocking expensive guitars, I own several. I'm just saying you're paying a ton of money for the same parts that are assembled by Mexicans in America as opposed to Mexicans in Mexico..
Fret work on my American & Japanese Fenders is so much better than on any Mexican model. I just watched a Silver Sky SE get put head to head with a Mexican Player Stratocaster and the biggest difference was the fret work. Perfect on the SE Silver Sky with well finished fret ends. Virtually no finish on the ends of the Player series and the frets were far from level. You do get what you pay for and there's a good reason these Ultra models are nearly three times the price of a Player Series guitar.
While these are really awesome guitars the price is just insane to me. You could build a partscaster with all of this for a ton less money. That being said, the Cobra Blue HSS Strat and the White Tele are my faves. Those two are sexy as hell.. I do like the Strat HSS switching too.
01/09/2020: Nice review for a very nice UltraTelecaster guitar with contoured heal and belly-cut, and other cool features. However, I think the new Noiseless Pickups are thin and tinny sounding. The Fender S-4 pickups were better. Also, Fender missed one feature that would inticed me to buy this guitar at $1,888.99. They needed to add a sloping contour for the comfort of the right arm area as on Stratocasters. Telecasters are too box-like with sharp body squared-off edges, and not comfortable to play. Change that feature in 2020 and it would be perfect!
even though they are the most beautiful looking telecasters ever built, the ultra teles have a chronic problem, they all sound robotic and dull. the issue is probably caused by the noiseless pickups.
Lol ya, so do others, like charvel GG for 2.5k ( almost identical design) or Ibanez ( the things called superstrats) etc. by coping Fender and Gibson designs from the 50 and sixties. There are so many brands basically coping those old designs to get a piece of cake because people actually love those ‘timeless’ designs. Anyway, play what you want and pay as much as you want for anything you want no one fucking cares!
Ive been a fender player for decades. Though the changes are nice, I particularly dont see the justification of the cost for some sanding of the body and a set of $50 tuners. Most of these alterations can be done on an American Standard for minimal cost. Ive done it. I also see that No one at fender changed the Trem block to a full size one. I could pick at least ten things minimum the change on these guitars to possibly justify the price point they are at. I say this, Fender WTF are you doing
ElectricGypsy Blues they have changed the term block, check out the specs. Slightly bigger and higher mass. These are very expensive guitars and should have stainless steel frets on them for the money
@@keanuuuu sorry man but in all these vids, when they turn the guitar around, it has the same angled block as the American Std. I just changed my block on my Am std to a solid Callaham block.

i see a number of demo,s were they act like they dont know that it only works on middle position...thats why i bring it up....
@@jlgis77 yes, you're right. I've seen a vid where it was mentined it boosts the pickup in neck or bridge position. but is makes still the same for elites and ultra's too. just both pickups in series. I think it's pretty enough. Tele should be simple.
Unfortunately, there have been so many iterations of the S1 wiring, I believe that the assemblers can't even keep up. I purchased an Elite Strat. Though I love the guitar, I tried 3. The S1 worked/didn't work differently on each. I don't believe they ever got the wiring correct for the 1 position. I think they simplified it out of frustration and nobody is picking up on it.
@@northof50now yes, strat's S1 on elite is more complicated and has been simplifiad on ultra. I prefer simplicity, on strat defualt 5 tones is more than I liketo choose from :) but on the the S1 perfect. 3 classic tones plus one bonus :) but I could live without S1 anyway as I love sound of single coils
🔥🔥🔥
For that money, I would have liked to see stainless steel fretts
indeed
True story
Suhr you can have it.
@@jamesm4957 Yup for only $2495 MAP for their HSS "Strat".
Agree with you totally, that's actually the only reason why i don't play Fenders, have two Suhr teles, they are just awesome.
Me encantaaa!!!!
Playing starts at 3:53
Super!
I Love Stratocaster Single Coil if belong to Fender
anyone know the amp he's using?
jeez I can prolly make this $2000 guitar sound like $200. lol Well played! Nice review! Thanks!
Tele is verry beautiful
01/09/2020: Nice review for a very nice UltraTelecaster guitar with contoured heal and belly-cut, and other cool features. However, I think the new Noiseless Pickups are thin and tinny sounding. The Fender S-4 pickups were better. Also, Fender missed one feature that would inticed me to buy this guitar at $1,888.99. They needed to add a sloping contour for the comfort of the right arm area as on Stratocasters. Telecasters are too box-like with sharp body squared-off edges, and not comfortable to play. Change that feature in 2020 and it would be perfect!
The fretboard radius on that Ultra looks pretty flat up by the 12th fret and above. Do my eyes deceive me? lol
compound radius neck.
I Want a Guitar But I Can't Afford even a Cheap One🙂
even though they are the most beautiful looking telecasters ever built, the ultra teles have a chronic problem, they all sound robotic and dull. the issue is probably caused by the noiseless pickups.
2000 euro ??
The Ultra features Fender promotes existed 20 years ago!
Fender is still selling the same design from the 50s, now for 2000 dollars. The only thing innovative here is the marketing.
I find your whining to be innovative.
Dave Carsley I find your retort lazy and uninspired like these Fender.
They're also selling the same design at various price points, right down to as little as £500, ignoring of course the Squiers.
Um, they are in business to make money, as well as provide innovative products.
Profit is only evil to Socialists.
Do we plAy indian classical music with this. Where these guitars available. Kindly guide
And still no strainless steel...
Does the S1 switch on the telly do something also on 1 and 3 position? I don't hear differences.
No, it's not supposed to. Only on the 2 position. It switches from parallel to series.
Whats that beauty behind😍?
Thanks for not shoving a Schecter in my face. I didn’t watch because I would rather have a guitar shaped like a Fender.
Just way too expensive... A thousand maybe 1200 but not two grand!
Yep, it's a Telecaster
again wide frets which I hate.
Better than the strat *sigh*

No money, No Inglish
Is that done in texas tea beautiful 🍒
I’ve played strats all my life until I played an Ibanez AZ .
I see your point the AZ line has everything that I love on a guitar. Beefy baked neck, stainless steel fat frets and locking tuners. However I can´t get over the looks.
Them pickups are false sounding
