    Everybody has an ironclad opinion, usually negative, on guitars they haven't even played.

    • @ShredCo
      @ShredCo 5 років тому +7

      A lot of people are mainly concerned with the sound. I don't think people could tell the difference in a blind listening test. Would you not agree? Therefore you can pass an educated opinion upon hearing it... no? Its a cash grab IMO

    • @ShredCo
      @ShredCo 5 років тому

      @Cletus Anfernee Jackson By cash grab I mean... a grab for cash in this particular instance.

      Nailed that one man. That’s who the cheap guitars are made for I think. Lol, oh well....

    • @niconois
      @niconois 4 роки тому +6

      @@ShredCo If one is just concerned about the sound, he can buy a 150 euros second hand Harley Benton, put some P90 pickups on it, and have it fine tuned / improved by a pro for 100 euros or so. It'll sound as good or even better than a 800 euros Fender, because when it comes to solid body guitars, the sound is mostly made of the pickups and the amp you buy.
      But the thing is, a guitar is not only about sound, it's also about playability, comfort, aesthetic, appeal and the way it makes you feel, and those things have no price.
      On another note, spending money on an expensive guitar hurts when you spend it, but you're not actually losing a lot of capital, if you take good care of your guitar you'll be able to sell it for a good price when you need money. If you buy it on the second hand market, you'll be able to sell it for the price you bought it, no loss. It's not like buying an expensive smartphone or anything like that. You buy the guitar, AND its value.

    I'm not saying some of the criticisms in the comments aren't legit (e.g. the lack of stainless steel frets, less innovation and bang-for-buck than other brands etc) but the vitriol is hilariously baffling given the manner at hand. These are gonna fly off the shelves and there's nothing you can do about it. Fender's market is bigger than nit-picking boomers.

    • @HooksBill
      @HooksBill 4 роки тому

      Well maybe Fender shouldn't have called it an ultra lol. For the price, it should be standard. You can get equal in quality and much better guitars for the same price with stainless steel frets. No need to defend Fender. That shouldn't be a big deal, but I think these are things Fender reserves for their more expensive guitars merely to justify the price. I have Martin and PRS guitars that cost substantially more this Tele so I don't say this because I couldn't afford it. It just makes sense to me.

    I love my EVH Wolfgang special because it’s neck is fantastic and makes me play with less fatigue. Never liked telecaster because all I have played had such thick necks. Stop in a GC to buy a player telecaster. Again the neck would take a while to get use to. While there I checked this Texas teal telecaster out and the neck was so great. I ordered myself one. Now I have the telecaster look and sound with the playability of a shredcaster.

    • @itspaddyd
      @itspaddyd 3 роки тому +2

      Is it so hard to get that they are not perfect and are going to continue to be refined until they are? I think everyone would agree that they don't have exactly the same sound as traditional ones, and Fender is probably going to iterate until they get that sound from noiseless ones. It's not some grand conspiracy, just step by step iteration.
      They're also not saying that you need to ditch your previous gen ones and buy these. Why wouldn't they put their latest pickups in their latest guitar?

    That rosewood fretboard on the Tele looks lovely. But the tone of the noiseless pickups, even bearing the "vintage" type name is rather cold... I'd rather do with some noise and more body and dynamics... The Strat sounds nicer though :)

      Unfortunately, there have been so many iterations of the S1 wiring, I believe that the assemblers can't even keep up. I purchased an Elite Strat. Though I love the guitar, I tried 3. The S1 worked/didn't work differently on each. I don't believe they ever got the wiring correct for the 1 position. I think they simplified it out of frustration and nobody is picking up on it.

I prefer simplicity, on strat defualt 5 tones is more than I liketo choose from :) but on the the S1 perfect. 3 classic tones plus one bonus :) but I could live without S1 anyway as I love sound of single coils

    Looks and sounds lot like my Mexican Nashville Deluxe Tele that I got for $800 that plays fucking amazing.. Better than my American Standard does. I could buy three of them for what this costs.. Not that I'm knocking expensive guitars, I own several. I'm just saying you're paying a ton of money for the same parts that are assembled by Mexicans in America as opposed to Mexicans in Mexico..

    • @talkychris
      @talkychris 2 роки тому

      Fret work on my American & Japanese Fenders is so much better than on any Mexican model.
      I just watched a Silver Sky SE get put head to head with a Mexican Player Stratocaster and the biggest difference was the fret work. Perfect on the SE Silver Sky with well finished fret ends. Virtually no finish on the ends of the Player series and the frets were far from level.
      You do get what you pay for and there's a good reason these Ultra models are nearly three times the price of a Player Series guitar.

  • @addicted2tone349
    @addicted2tone349 5 років тому

    While these are really awesome guitars the price is just insane to me. You could build a partscaster with all of this for a ton less money. That being said, the Cobra Blue HSS Strat and the White Tele are my faves. Those two are sexy as hell.. I do like the Strat HSS switching too.

    01/09/2020: Nice review for a very nice UltraTelecaster guitar with contoured heal and belly-cut, and other cool features. However, I think the new Noiseless Pickups are thin and tinny sounding. The Fender S-4 pickups were better. Also, Fender missed one feature that would inticed me to buy this guitar at $1,888.99. They needed to add a sloping contour for the comfort of the right arm area as on Stratocasters. Telecasters are too box-like with sharp body squared-off edges, and not comfortable to play. Change that feature in 2020 and it would be perfect!

      Lol ya, so do others, like charvel GG for 2.5k ( almost identical design) or Ibanez ( the things called superstrats) etc. by coping Fender and Gibson designs from the 50 and sixties. There are so many brands basically coping those old designs to get a piece of cake because people actually love those ‘timeless’ designs. Anyway, play what you want and pay as much as you want for anything you want no one fucking cares!

    Ive been a fender player for decades. Though the changes are nice, I particularly dont see the justification of the cost for some sanding of the body and a set of $50 tuners.Most of these alterations can be done on an American Standard for minimal cost. Ive done it. I also see that No one at fender changed the Trem block to a full size one. I could pick at least ten things minimum the change on these guitars to possibly justify the price point they are at.
