The American Elite with a new name and new colors. Which a few years ago was the Deluxe if I'm not mistaken? Only thing Ultra is how fast Fender's marketing changes.
The elite series never had compoud radius necks or sculpted heels. I believe some of them had the s 1 system built in, but I don't think all of them did. These are definitely an upgrade, but the base strat model isn't much to write home about. The new HSS strat, Jazzmaster, the Jazz bass, and the Tele are all pretty significantly upgraded
@@MojoStrummer I have an American Elite that I bought in 2017. It definitly has a compund radius fretboard and a sculpted heel. And the neck goes from a c shape to a d shape on the back. It also has the version 4 of the noiseless pickups.

No series switch to stack the single coils? I would choose that over a coil split and just have the humbucker auto split through the main 5 way. Im more into bypassing that all an throwing in a simple freeway 10 way switch. 10 pickup combos on 1 guitar is 2 guitars in 1. People know the combos of different guitars in there collection on 5 ways and 3 ways. 10 way is not alot. Also this guitar needs stainless steel frets and baked maple neck for its price point. Some would say the harder frets would brighten those noisless pickup highs in the right place.
#Fender These are beautiful! I love the contour in the neck for the easier access to the higher frets! I had also watched the other promotional videos, one on the Fender Telecaster Ultra Performance model and loved the noiseless pickups! My main rig is my baby the Fender American Special Telecaster with a Maple Neck & Texas Special pickups (and just a black/ebony finish w/ single-ply black pickguard) into my Deluxe Reverb Collectors Edition, and if I owned any of these beauties I would love to pair it with this, or also the Limited Edition Vibro-King I've been playing lately, especially the Ultra Performance Telecaster with the Noiseless pickups with the Wampler Ego Compressor, now that would be a heavenly setup! Keep up the fantastic work and I am, and will always be an endorser of all things Fender! ✌👍🎸🌺
@@billybob728 Don't know that anyone can tell (hear) the difference in SS frets. It's not the frets or pups or tuners etc. that make a guitar. It's always the player. BTW there have been thousands of hit records and multi-millions of records sold by people playing guitars that didn't and don't have SS frets.
@@mitcharney1 Alright, first off SS frets have very little to no difference at all in tonality to nickel, and I never said that they did. The point of them is that they don't wear and they don't feel as rough when you bend a string. They are literally an improvement in every way, and the only reason most companies don't use them is because stainless steel is much more difficult to work with because of how hard it is. In regards to your comment about all the hit records, that point is irrelevant because SS frets do not make you a better guitar player, they just make for a better instrument. Creativity has nothing to do with functionality.
I've got a Fender Strat Plus Deluxe since 1993 (Kinman Woodstock pickups, LSR roller nut, Schaller locking tuners). Slightly different features, same concept
Look for a 2018 model, 600.00 is what my HSS was, and it's pickups sound much better than the Ultra. Sure it's an MIM, but it's a great instrument and you're right, the HSS is very versatile.
When you split the humbucker and it works like a single coil, why should someone go for the sss version. Just don’t understand the difference. Thank you
Because if you really need that twangy/bright single coil sound on the bridge, the splitted humbuckers generally get you close but don´t match perfectly the type of output of a real single coil. It is a pretty common situation found on superstrats, for example. It normally sounds "similar" to a single coil, but not "identical". There are some cases of pick ups that get really get close, though. But Yes, I do agree with your general reasoning. In a Strat I definitely prefer the versatility of a HSS configuration (eventually with the possibility of splitting humbuckers) and if I really, REALLY want a typical classic extremely bright sounding single coil pick up on the bridge I would probably put the Strat down and better think of Telecaster type of guitar, or something like that. In any case I would not go for the SSS version.
The HSS strats have much hotter outputs on all of the pickups including the single coils giving a significantly different sound than on the traditional strats. It's a big significance when going for the single coil tone.
Surprised they decided to hide the clean tone behind the delay. I would want to clean tone for a demo. Not a wet tone, or pretty saturated one as we have here at the beginning. Especially for the single coil. And no Heavy tones from the SSS? Come on!
Been waiting for this for so long. I hope they also come in more classic color (sunburst, arctic white, etc) options though and have an SSS version with rosewood fingerboard.
agreed, show the natural wood in more beautiful ways. even a clear coat varnish would be amazing. covering it up with blue or red paint etc. is a crime.
You should bring back 3 things: 1.- V neck profiles options, 2.- s1 that switches between parallel/Series, not just blending a pick up as that can be done for very few bucks on any strat via blending wiring, 3.- Tobacco sunburst/2 tone sunburst and other vintage looking colors, not everyone wants an orange, blue or crazy sparkle guitar, believe it or not, not all of your customers are teenagers in Instagram.
Fender Standard, Special, Deluxe, Ultra ....and you become confuse and don't know what is the best model to choose. And everything I want is a Fender which sounds as that Fiesta of Mark Knopfler in the recording of Sultans of Swing in 1978.
I bought one, but the locking tuner is loosing...... Even the worker in the music store don’t know how to make it tight...... But, after all, this guitar is AMAZING!
I went to guitar center to by a Fender Stratocaster Ultra. They had four in stock. I was going for the HSS but all the fret ends were dangerously sharp. I checked the other three Ultras and they were the same. So much for the super comfortable neck. I could have bought one and used my fret end file on it but for two grand I shouldn't have to. I was very disappointed. All excited and went home with out one.
I think they should have kept the Eddie Van Halen style truss rod adjustment...I think that's the only backwards move. Now it adjusts like a MIM Player Series Strat would...
I compared a Cort G280 DX that is worth the price of a fraction of these Fender. I preferred the Cort. I am a lucky man, I would have money to celebrate the new year.
Добрый день! А какой радиус накладки грифа у этих гитар? и какое минимальное расстояние можно достичь опуская струны от вершины лада до струны (первая) на 12 ладу? Good afternoon! And what is the radius of the fingerboard for these guitars? and what is the minimum distance that can be achieved by lowering the string from the top of the fret to the string (first) at 12 frets?
If anyone can please clarify, so with the HSS model, you can turn-off the bridge humbucker and have the rear pickup use only the bridge single coil and sound and function exactly like a regular fender stratocaster?
I believe that's what he's telling you at 7:40 Press the button in the middle of the volume knob and it splits the humbucker using the super new fangled 'double tap' coil tapping technology.
I went to guitar center and played the fender ultra sss and hss still trying to figure out which one to play. And then take to Larry Cragg and have him put the final touches on it. If you do not know who Larry Cragg is google him. We are spoiled in bay area cali.
2020 and the pole pieces are STILL staggered and STILL misaligned rather than being dead on the strings, cmon fender. If you're going to make an "ultra" stratocaster, I expect modern improvements. Many people are going to hate me for saying this but PRS has made the endgame strat. I think the only possible thing they could do better with the Silver Sky is to make the pickups noiseless. The silver sky is what a real modern stratocaster is to my eyes, its a shame that the company that makes actual strats can't even catch up with the times.
Henry J Anderson II gotcha I’m just wondering what the best splittable hummy is that I can use 90% as normal spank single and sometimes as hummy for leads .
200113: Fender: A 2018 version of this guitar had an Olympic(?) Pearl option AND a Rotating Wheel Adjustment Rod?? That is no longer available?? That is what I came to purchase. 200114 Edit: Thanks for the non response, Fender. I discovered that this is an iteration of the Elite-which you call the Ultra. Guitar mechanics here? Was the truss rod wheel a gimmick OR a godsend?? Pax.
Welcome back American Deluxe Series! ;-) But seriously, the Am Dlx HSS Strats are my favorite (I own four of them) so this is a good thing that this new line is similar. The blue HSS version makes me want to acquire one. Of course I need to hear more about the Double Tap humbucker (I hope its close to the old DH-1 humbucker). Oh Fender, why do you tempt me so!
It's expensive but hey, the ultra luxe status kind of calls for it. For a fraction of the cost you may upgrade and customize a cheaper but good guitar and get an amazing instrument.
@@sicjink I mean, I could do that, but I think if they are aiming for like "High-performance" versions of their guitars, floyd option should be offered. :)

These are beautiful!
Fender American Special Telecaster with a Maple Neck & Texas Special pickups ... nice
Seems like fender is actually stepping up their game to compete with guitars like shur and the silver sky.
Until they start using SS frets, they have nothing on Suhr
There is no comparison between a Fender Strat and a silver sky boring copy !!!
@@billybob728 stainless steel frets kill strings though, and idk about others but my local lutheir charges more to work them
I want a guitar called a Shadowcaster with a stereo output. It exists in my mind. Call me Fender corporation.
That sounds cool. Call him, Fender Corporation.
That does sound pretty cool
Call him, Fender Corporation
That sounds cool. Call him, Fender corporation.
Hi Fender Corporation, how are you?!
I was too distracted by this guy's exceptional playing
What a tasteful musician
I've got a Fender Strat Plus Deluxe since 1993 (Kinman Woodstock pickups, LSR roller nut, Schaller locking tuners). Slightly different features, same concept
We would really want nitro finish at this price point. Otherwise, looks fantastic!
Then buy a Vintera, Original Series or Custom Shop.
whats nitro finish ?
Love the color....
that's some very ellegant playing right there!
I really love the hss concept its very versatile in many ways, I want to have want but its so expensive. Maybe soon
I still have my Fender Strat bought new in 1955.
I'll never part with it.

Ryan McCarthy 🤣
Was hoping for a 24 frets with those high access heel. Name it Fender Soloist 🤘🔥
Surprised they decided to hide the clean tone behind the delay. I would want to clean tone for a demo. Not a wet tone, or pretty saturated one as we have here at the beginning. Especially for the single coil. And no Heavy tones from the SSS? Come on!
He played a clean tone right after the intro.
@@weschilton But used pedals to mask it's real sound. the Pups are garbage
Fender makes the best guitars.
Been waiting for this for so long. I hope they also come in more classic color (sunburst, arctic white, etc) options though and have an SSS version with rosewood fingerboard.
My fav one is the texas tea color
agreed, show the natural wood in more beautiful ways. even a clear coat varnish would be amazing. covering it up with blue or red paint etc. is a crime.
OK I'm sold on the guitar but can I take some lessons from this GOD
🔥🎸🙌
Jamie gives lessons!
The opening sounds so much like SVR
Stevie Vay Raughn?
Yashvardhan Gaur Stevie Vay Raughan and Trouble Double
Please fender i want one of those
Amazing playing.
sick strat!
What's the matter with it? It doesn't sound "ill" to me. Sounds pretty good.
I bought one, but the locking tuner is loosing...... Even the worker in the music store don’t know how to make it tight......
But, after all, this guitar is AMAZING!
Getting tempted. Great Player too...
will there be a ebony fingerboard version? ... please! :)
I second this!
There is
Root strat only lol
I want a Super, Maximum, Uber, Primo, Classic, Ultra, Pro, Hi Fi, Studio, Mega, Deluxe, First Class, Hyper, Royal, Master, Platinum Stratocaster......
you forgot Quadraphonic my man! ;)
Finally Fender get neck heel right with all access to higher frets
Phillip Francis The Elite has this heel.
Such a bummer these won't be available again until 5/22+
Love the specs of this model!
I went to guitar center to by a Fender Stratocaster Ultra. They had four in stock. I was going for the HSS
but all the fret ends were dangerously sharp.
Love Jamie's playing. What song is that at the beginning?
PS - The bridge looks like a Wilkenson, another fave of mine on Strats.
Super Dooper, deluxe, especial, limited edition was already taken.
Remember the real old ultra? flamed-top,lace sensors, ebony fingerboard, locking bridge and tuner? That was THE THING....
Proud owner of the very guitar you describe, as well as a jeff beck signature strat with similar specs
Stainless Steel frets or normal nickel frets on this series @fender
If anyone can please clarify, so with the HSS model, you can turn-off the bridge humbucker and have the rear pickup use only the bridge single coil and sound and function exactly like a regular fender stratocaster?
I believe that's what he's telling you at 7:40
Press the button in the middle of the volume knob and it splits the humbucker using the super new fangled 'double tap' coil tapping technology.
@@Swampster70 Thanks mate!
Need to know more about the ultra series :)
Wanted that colour, but Nathan (at Fender) told me on the phone that they were discontinued, likely because that finish didn't sell too well.
No it's because fender had to stop using that wood due to it being endangered
More distortion from Fender would be nice!
really wish there was a clean channel demo for each pup combo on the hh
He had to use pedals. I've played one of these and without pedals to compensate the pickups are total crap.
Pax.
That`s some tasty cheese from a versatile tone machine. Well done.
I really hope the next move from them is new left handed guitars in all series.
Great demo! What amplifier is used in this demo?
Beautiful guitar, sadly I can't afford one 😢
It's expensive but hey, the ultra luxe status kind of calls for it. For a fraction of the cost you may upgrade and customize a cheaper but good guitar and get an amazing instrument.
I love it.. awesome ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nice sound of the Fender American Ultra Stratocaster.
Is it OK for rhythm guitarists/vocalists?
Any plans on making a floyd rose version of that hss strat?
Call up jackson
@@sicjink I mean, I could do that, but I think if they are aiming for like "High-performance" versions of their guitars, floyd option should be offered. :)
Lovro Knezevic i think fenders more rock and “grunge” jackson more into the floyd rose shit
Lovro Knezevic Floyd Rose, OMG...are u serious?
@@sicjink well, there ARE fenders with floyd already (player series), but as I said, they are losing out on a big portion of potential customers here. High performance guitars should at least have the option of floyd (charvel for example has hardtail, floyd and regular two point trem options, and yes, I know fender owns charvel :)
It shares a lot common features with Fender Modern Japan
Fender how about a "Modern Series"
ACamp * that would be an appropriate name!
