Agreed. People rag on games etc so easily, but these types of vids show the immense work that goes on behind the scenes (pun intended). I tried blender, and followed his donut tutorial (which is great), but the program kept crashing on me after I started manipulating the sprinkles 😅😅. Agree. I always get bored of long tutorial videos. Keep it like this.
Yup!
Your channel/videos came to my mind when Andrew, talks about compressing a lot of useful information into this video.
sorry for interuption , how to start learning image projection based modeling?
Idk why I'm here. I'll never use what I just watched, but you entertained me through the whole video even though I have no clue what you were talking about.
I’m in the same boat. I’ve never used this software, and I don’t even really know what it is, but this video is fascinating. Only difference is I might actually use the stuff in the video when I’m done with high school.
Now were all 3 in a ship
Ikr, proves how important a good presentation really is. He just stayed on point and shared the details that are important without showing the whole process. He probably spent a dozen hours on just doing all those shapes and textures or whatever the hell he was doing, but we only got to see the points that actually matters. I wouldn't be able to sit through hours of that stuff for example. Exellent editing, i wish more people would do tutorials like this...
Tiger Bears same lol
may I ask how you guys ended up here ? wondering because I´m just getting these videos on my landing page because I actually do 3D.
Definitely a good format, straight to the point and allowing us for more space to contemplate on the things that need to study further. Thanks man!
This is so useful, im just getting into blender and this was exactly what I needed to know!!! Thank you!
This is insane. My jaw is still on the floor.
I had no idea Blender was such a powerful tool, can't believe it is free.
I love this style of video. Its less of a tutorial of: "here's a scene, im going to show you exactly how o make it". And more of: "heres a scene, and some tips i used to make it look good"
Great! Yeah that was my thinking too. Most people want to apply lessons from a tutorial to their own project anyway, so why show every step? Cheers
Man, I'd love to walk through this in a game! It'd be such a cool scene to take in with the ambience!

I love your videos. I prefer the long detailed ones because I am new to Blender. I don't always watch a video to the end in one sitting but I usually return to finish watching. This lets me learn at my own pace. Thanks.
Everybody: You can't ignore his 15 years of experience in blender and do the same in 20 minutes just because you discovered blender two videos ago in an infinite UA-cam spiral that started the morning before!

exactly,im learning 3 engines from about 1 year and im not worried at having a game created,im a tattoist that simply likes to draw in paper,or digital or 3d,you can even do a 3d scene just to make a print screen, with the correct light, doing several wall papers from that scene in different angles, sky is the limit, imagination dont have limits, first learn the engines that you want, then you can do everything the right way,a game done in a hurry is a game with so many bugs, graphics errors, bad junction on meshes,i prefere to have months of learning and dont do a single full scene or level whatever, thinking about it,i often erase the things that i do,no,i dont even save it,just start another scene, just start another mesh,im not interested in having a my disk full of nonsense shit, lern, dont save it,lern the right way, like 2 walls that dont fit right together is horrible in a game, and a game with 100 error like this is not pretty to the eye neither to the mind, video speed building for me is nothing ,this is a great video,i will follow your videos, keep up the good work

2.8 is the way to go, beta in late this month and few months from now the release and it'll be amazing :)
So, it's nine months later...did you learn how to delete the cube?
@@biohoo22for me, here what i learned using only 2.8..
1) i learned how to compile blender myself to get 2.8 updates instantly no need for downloading or using blenderupdater.
2) mastered navigation,UI,tools, how to use input editor to modify my hotkeys and make my own hotkeys..etc which i think won't be needed since they are adding a more common left click keymap which great news.
3) how to use cycles/eevee in general and how the node system works...etc, and many more which i did in just few months of couse there is more to learn and these are just basics but in overall great experience..i can't wait for a stable release.

All thanks to math, physics and computer science.....computer graphic algorithms mimic the real world (today to almost perfection) with reflections, ray tracing, shadows, multiple light sources, textures, materials, colors, opacity, geometry of course., etc etc...everything is taken into account during rendering....anyhow i share the same feeling....
I like the shortened video format, but hope you don't stop making in depth and longer videos, they're very informative and step-by-step walkthroughs clear up any confusion.

Never dabbled with blender or rendering in any way, but the forest cabin came up in my recommendations and was amazing, then it brought me here. I am absolutely astounded - at times I had to play spot the difference to work out which was the real scene and which was rendered. Just incredible!
My only point of criticism of the final animation coming from a theatre lighting background is that the actual fluorescent light wasn’t flickering, just the light radiating from it so it effectively looked like a flickering light that was on an obscured surface, but otherwise perfect!
You are a natural born teacher and this format is great!
Well, I've learned two things in the first four minutes. Specifically the Blam plug-in and the Spin tool! I've been making bent pipes with curves for years just to get smooth bends, this will save so much time!). I think this new format could be a great time saver! The tips are more prominent. How about a 20 minute CORE video that gets to all the important steps/points/tips, but then have BRANCH videos that explain bits in more detail for newer users which link back to the original video/timecode at the end. This way, I can blast through and get what I need from the core video, but I don't have to sit through all of the hand-holding sections/explanations that I'm familiar with, but it theres something new to me I can branch off and watch it. Or instead of branching do say a 1 hour tutorial and an accompanying 15 minute 'digest' version for pros. Or how about an index in the comments that lists tools/techniques used so you can jump to that timecode? I don't want to create more work for you, everything you do is excellent, keep up the good work!
Wow really better the new type of video!
Thanks! Glad people like it. It's also more fun for me to produce. Nothing worse than starting a recording and knowing it'll be 2 hours long haha.

Thank you for your efforts and thanks for the Arabic translation
I think this style of showing general workflow encourages more creativity and originality than a straight up "tutorial" does - it gives people tools they might not have known about but encourages them to find their own reference image and attempt their own scene. Well done!
Couldn't agree more with this. Once he mentioned that focal length calculator I got excited to find some reference images to try and recreate.
You blow me away. You are a true artist with the added advantage of massive intellect. I have been an amateur artist for fifty years plus. This is next-level stuff, and I am hoping old dogs can still learn new tricks. I will keep watching. Thanks. (BTW I am not groveling, just inspired.)

Never heard of blender but u did an awesome job of showing me how stuff like this gets made.
This is epic! Nice psychology trick, shortening it and concise!
I love everyone and anyone who puts out this kind of informative content, so thank you.
As for the format, I think a great balance is to have both. You can have the entire, uncut, unsped up video available in all its multi-hour glory, then edit it down like you did with this one and release it as a separate video. You could title them similarly too. Like "How to _______, the long cut" and "How to _______, the short cut".
Something like that.
FSpy is amazing! As a beginner, I've tried to model a (simple) building from a photograph, and nothing lined up at first. Applying the camera settings output by FSpy (via the Blender plugin), and suddenly, everything worked right out of the box, just like in this amazing tutorial. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Tutorials like this are great, as long as you already know how to do a hundred steps that aren't included in this tutorial.

Too powerful. After watching this tutorial for so long, I still feel that its style and creativity make the whole case's skills. The key points are very transparent and exquisite.
Great video, love the simplicity and pacing of the tutorial. One question, we don't really have 'that guy' that does good, structured physics tutorials in Blender. I know you may be on more of the side of the visual aspect of tutorials, but I would love to see you teach the community about the fracture, molecular and weight brush modifiers/tools. I, and many others would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
