"What's Up, Doc" is an all-time favourite of mine, saw it more than once in the cinema, later got the DVD. Ryan O'Neal was absolutely perfect for the role. His Dr Howard Bannister will not be forgotten. Hilarious, drop dead gorgeous looking, perfect timing, and that chemistry with Streisand...

Oh he and Barbra had great chemistry. Ryan was charming , despite personal demons. I can see why Farrah liked him. He really was a nice guy. No body is perfect, even as a parent. Pray for O’Neil family, I hope you made peace. Oh he is so happy with Farrah now. I hope Redmond can get through ok, I know he was troubled. RIP! So ironic, how a movie can come back to haunt you you, years later, Love Story.

@@gaysy1stSorry but Mr. O'Neal did NOT force nor Tatum, nor Griffin to sniff cocaine ir inject heroine
      in themselves..
They both did this on their own.
      They were adults then.....!!
They certainly were NOT easy kids, then adults, either..

I'm not sure many of the youngins' today are even aware of what a mammoth superstar Ryan O'Neal was. From soap opera hunk in Peyton Place, to Love Story, Wild Rovers, What's Up Doc?, Paper Moon, Barry Lyndon. Long before Brad Pitt, Ryan O'Neal (and Redford) were the poster boys for the blond blue-eyed hunk.

Good-Riddance! He was garbage! Why? He was horrible to all his wives. He stole his best friend, at the time, Lee Major's wife, Farah. He was abusive to Farah. He was a horrible and irresponsible father; i.e Tatum and that criminal son Redmond is proof. He was a serial philanderer! 🤮After Farah's death, he threatened the University of Texas to return the paintings...the gift extended her alma mater. UofT gave the paintings back under threat of a lawsuit; HORRIBLE! 😱

He was horrible to all his wives? I'd would like to find out his side of the story, it always takes two to tango. Farrah Fawcett stayed with him for decades, and she was a pretty sweet woman. So he wasn't all that bad. He stole Lee Majors wife? Hmm, from what I understand, everyone has freewill. Farrah Fawcett choose to divorce Lee Majors, and shack up with Ryan O' Neal. Ryan O'Neal also had an addictive personality, and drank and did drugs, from what I understand. His son Redmond, ended up in prison, for committing a serious crime, plus, he also was a drug abuser, like his father. Which has been shown, to run in families. Ryan O'Neal also wasn't such a good father to his children, and even Tatum O'Neal, his daughter was estranged from him. He even admitted he wasn't a good father. Ryan O'Neal had some serious issues and some real character defects. If you're going to single him out, you might as well include also alot of other Hollywood celebrities too, because they also have alot of imperfections and issues. Why even bother to see any movies, for that matter, and cater to this industry? Yet, despite all the issues, major character defects, that Ryan O'Neal had, his work as a major film star, stands for itself. He was a very talented actor, who made some very good entertaining movies. On a last note, everyone has skeltons in their closet.

I agree. Men always seem to be villains in all realatioships. And some are, but not all. A man just died. We have our own sins, none of us are saints. There’s a difference in being a flawed human being, from being pure evil. Ryan wasn’t evil.
