Marianne Faithful DIDN’T turn down “Yesterday”, she turned down a 1968 Lennon/McCartney song called “Etcetera” that ended up released as a brass band instrumental called "Thingumybob" by the Black Dyke Mills Band. Marianne recorded and released “Yesterday” as a single in 1965. Her version spent a month from October to November in the UK top 100 chart that year. Though an obvious choice for a massive hit, Paul FAMOUSLY DIDN'T keep the song for himself, he brought it to The Beatles who ALSO recorded ‘Yesterday”, under the Lennon/McCartney credit, in 1965. Their version was released on the album Help! in August, 6 weeks before Marinnne's version. Paul chose not to release the song as a single in the UK to prevent media speculation it indicated a forthcoming McCartney solo career and emphasize the unity of the band. Steuart Smith one of the greatest guitarist out there, truly an inspirational guitarist to me, and one of my favorite. Gonna miss him playing his solo with the Ernie Ball Music Man double neck for Hotel California, and all his guitar skills. His legacy with the Eagles will forever remain as one of the greatest to ever do it,. Prayers for Steuart, blessings and safe retirement...

I saw Vivian right after he joined Def Leppard at the Gorge Ampitheater in WA. He did great and I saw them several times since, the last being when they returned to the Tacoma Dome several years after they played their last show of the Hysteria Tour there with Steve Clark. It was emotional for the band and me too, since I was there for both. I loved the in the round stage for the Hysteria tour! Keep strong Vivian, you are in my prayers!

Wishing him well! He looks healthy which amazes me with people with cancer. I have chronic Lyme and I look ILL! I suffer in pain everyday with various levels of pain--sometimes days turns into months. I'm barely the person I use to be. Same age as Vivian and I'm amazed at what the musicians like him do everyday and all the tours they go on. It takes so much energy which baffles me.
