    Just wanted you to know that your channel is the only channel I have ever subscribed too, why? Real 4wding, granddad, son and his son a joy to watch, responsible driving and track respect, no habit destruction by burning huge logs for a fire, unpretentious and no macho man crap and the opportunity to watch your pure joy of the experience. Thank you.

      Very much agree. I'm subscribed to many 4x4 channels, but Tylers channel is by far my favourite. Very responsible driving, non destructive to the tracks and bush.

      and no mention of beer or alcohol every second teaching young boys the bad habit. My 9yo loves these sort of videos but I have to stop watching due to beer promotion. This one is family friendly and encourages my son to be like that young fellow....join in for some good fun.

      Thank you! I want to keep enjoying the bush for many years so treat it best I can and we aren't really big drinkers, normally too worn by the end of the day and just go to bed haha

      Cody said everything I feel about this channel.
      Please don't change the way you film/edit, Your storytelling is awesome.
      Tell your dad to get a rear locker, Iess wheelspin will take the stress off the front diff/cv's.
      Keep the amazing videos coming!

    Hello Tyler and everybody asking about the track rating as double black diamond,
    I know one of the assessors for the tracks in the Victorian High Country. Once I drove on a track that I thought was an intermediate rating (blue). When I asked the assessor what rating he would put on the track he said 'Black Diamond, possibly Double Black Diamond". When I expressed surprise at such a high rating he told me the ratings are based on people driving a vehicle such as a Subaru withour any modifications. The reason was for insurance. If the track had a lower rating and someone damaged themselves, or their vehicles, then they could claim against ParksVic because they were not warned how dangerous the track is.
    I have driven Ingeegoodbee Track, Macfarlanes Flat Track and Cobberas Track from east to west and found it took about four hours.
    I enjoy your videos because they are informative without being macho and destructive to the tracks.

      @@TylerThompson90 mate, took two days! It's a tricky track at points in the dry, but this was mental. . . . The rock steps on the cobberas section were especially hard, but my little truck on 31s made it eventually!! Great vid, love ya work 👍

    Awesome video mate, love the channel. Having a a 4wd channel that is more about the adventure/destination rather than massive twin locked trucks on 35's is really refreshing. Love your adventures, and you have inspired me to make more time to get amongst it.
    We did this loop in reverse last Easter. that tricky section on the Cobberas trail was pretty exciting to drive up, but managed to get up it without winching, a fair bit of right boot helped.

    Easy to get into Macfarlane Flat a bit harder to get out. I drove my passenger rear tyre over that rock that your dad was standing on. Never been so close to disaster as that time. Been on to parks to work on those couple of bad spots. Not game to go back in until they do. Climbing out of Ingeegoodbie creek is a lot more difficult than it looks on video. Love your work

    Great track, done it solo a couple times. Shame its still closed, took a mate brand new to wheeling in his stock unlocked disco 2 on 31s there on qbw in 2020 just before it closed (and has been since). Hasnt been reopened due to budget or checking for aboriginal heritage, what a joke. It was very rough. We didnt get started until late and did most of the track at night. Had to get the winch out at 14:50. This and billy goats the next day, what an introduction to 4wding 😂 so enjoyable sinking cans in the passenger seat providing encouragement and spotting and playing winch boy. Its such a great drive, "remote". That entire far north east area of the VHC and into NSW (walk in only) is special. Shame about the wild horses trashing the joint though

    We did this same trip in May in the opposite direction. We had a small rainshower come through about an hour before the really rough bit. We all had to winch up those steps on the Cobberas - Very Challenging!! Really sorted out the men from the boys on this track. Last time we did it 6 years ago you could get a pretty much standard 4wd through. Not any more.

    Is there any chance now that you could put written time estimates going from A to B so we know how to budget our time if we replicate the drive? It would obviously be on same conditions basis as wet would change the tracks considerably.

    • @TylerThompson90
      @TylerThompson90  6 років тому +1

      I could mate but I reckon it would just throw most people off and then they would get annoyed with me haha.
      It changes so much depending on conditions, how many 4wds, what speed you travel, how many stops you make for lunch, swims etc, whether you run into any trouble/winching on the track.
      But the biggest issue I would have is our travel speed is a lot slower of anyone else due to all the filming so can be very hard for me to say how long it would take if you aren't filming.

  • @AustralianImage
    @AustralianImage 6 років тому

    Had you gone maybe a kilometre or so further down Limestone Road, you would have come to a track on the left, Ram's Horn Track, that takes you to the Ram's Horn. It's a short walk to the top and gives you great views over Native Dog Flat (a great campsite) and the mountains to the west.
    All these XX tracks are generally overrated as we've done quite a few of them since they were recently marked and they aren't that difficult. Unmarked tracks around the Dargo area are much more difficult than the supposedly marked difficult ones.
    McFarlane Track has some great campsites just after the McFarlane Flat Hut, plenty of Brumbies in the evening as well. Where the Ingeegoodbee Track meets the Snowy River Road, if you turn left, about three kilometres on there's a track on your right that takes you to the Snowy River and some reasonable campsites.
    The Snowy River Road had a major collapse a few years ago and isolated Suggan Buggan for a few weeks or so until it was fixed.
    There's also a great campsite before McKillops Bridge marked as Little River Junction, 4WD access only and right on the Snowy.
    Must go back that way soon.

    • @TylerThompson90
      @TylerThompson90  6 років тому

      Thanks for all the tips mate! Sounds like I've got a few good places to visit next time I'm back down that way.
      Yep I do find the ratings are a bit all over the place. The Davies Plain was easier then I expected but the tracks we did in this video definitely had challenging bits!
      We did see that Little River Junction turnoff but it was already dark so decided to just get to the main campground at Mckillops bridge quickly.

What are your thoughts about Limestone Track , I have Mitsubishi Triton towing Black Series off-road camper, I am very experienced but not sure about the track usual,conditions for towing.
    Keep up the great videos mate they are really entertaining.

    • @TylerThompson90
      @TylerThompson90  6 років тому

      Hey mate, well there is limestone creek track and then there is limestone road. It sounds like you're talking about limestone road which is just a main 2wd dirt road so definitely no dramas on it. But if you're talking about limestone creek track then a little risky with a trailer, some very steep hills on it and a couple are very chopped up.
      Cheers!

    Enjoy your vids Tyler but the way you pass these tracks off as easy shows your inexperience in the HC . You are driving these tracks in the best conditions possible , try these tracks in the wet Tyler and tell me their as easy as you say they are . I think you should have mentioned this as your commentary lulls less experienced people into thinking its a walk in the park .

    • @TylerThompson90
      @TylerThompson90  6 років тому +6

      Hey mate, I did say clearly a couple of times in this video that this track is difficult/challenging and I wouldn't recommend coming out in a stock 4wd or without experience, that you're a long way from help and need to know what you're doing. Definitely with the Davies Plain Track I did say it was easy which it was in the dry, but I did also say clearly in that episode too that if you were drive it in the wet it would be much more challenging.
      People are always going to have different opinions and ideas of whether a track is hard or easy and its very hard to tell from the camera. I just try and give people a bit of a rough idea of what they are going into.
      Cheers!

    • @HLsab
      @HLsab 6 років тому +1

      @@TylerThompson90 You did mention that you were far from help , which it is and it doesn't have a double black rating for nothing . I did it the reverse from you guys in November and it was medium to hard in spots , i also did it 3 years ago in the wet and it was a totally different track , it was every bit a double black track , very tough , on that trip we also did Davies Plain track and it was also very tough . I really enjoy your vids mate and don't want to sound to critical but that was the easiest you will drive those tracks . Look forward to more of your adventures .

      Top vid as usual. Pretty accurate assessment of tracks all round by I think. Knocking around this area for 35 years or so and have been stopped several times in a Carolla engined Sierra as well as recently in the current D Max on the steep bits you identified. Even my rear locked GQ was stopped near Cobberras in the rain. As you said it is very different in the wet. Don't change anything. A unique style. ta.
