Hi Dan, hope you, Danii and baby are all well. Congratulations to you both, first time mum and dad! You'll need to get her fitted with a helmet and gear, of course. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work.😉👍✌
Congratulations on the pēpi! 5 bikes!!! My DR650 is ready to for re-registration but with 15 month old twins I barely get time to uee the toilet let alone take a day out to do that! Would be good to see you do the gears!
Congrats on the baby! I just got a 2nd dr too. I thought I'd replace the 96 I just rode around Australia on. 2020 1500km cheap at 6500. The problem is that it is too new and perfect. I don't have the heart to start dropping it and pulling it apart. It's messing with my mind. I think I'm going to have to sell it. 5 Bikes isn't too many. I'd love to have 5 bikes and not 17............
@MOTODANS all the folk on the aust DR page thought irlt was a scam..... lol. My other option it to swap all the mechanicals between the new one and the 96. The 96 is considered a historic bike and rego and insurance is about $800 cheaper a year. I seriously have no idea what to do......
@MOTODANS I'd love it to be that easy. Yes I could do that but the first thing an insurance company want to look at is the vin and frame number. Glad to hear you're not selling the 1150gs.
Admirable diagnosis of oilchange particles; but what about any other symptoms; and what are the potential implications of continuing to run with broken circlip??
No other symptoms, it is highly recommened to fit a magnetic sump plug on these. If the circlip breaks further and comes out you will blow up your gearbox. Or it may never break and could remain as is with just the tip broken. It's a gamble. When it happened to my Dr i didn't ride it any further until fixed.
Thank you for your video. I purchased a 2002 DR650 in April 2024 with 6150 km. Has the part you replaced been upgraded so that this is no longer a problem? Do you advise me to change it now before it breaks? Thank you. Alain from Canada
Hey Dan - hope everything is going well for you and your family mate. Hopefully you’ll get an opportunity to upload some more content for us at some point. Cheers mate.
@astonebrook91 only gear issues I am aware of are the 16 17 models with the circlip. Part was never superceeded so would have just been a bad batch. Earlier models are known for 3rd gear blow ups no new ones have this happen I am aware of.
@ericcournoyer1595 just fit a magnetic drain plug and look for a circlip. It only seems to affect 16-17-18 models and more than likely most people miss the bit coming out if they don't have a magnet plug
Thanks for sharing. My DR is on its 20th year now. Just did a 6000-km trip to Chiang Mae, Thailand. 4 months ago. Singapore-Thailand.
Impressive 👍
@NS My Mbike mainly does roadwork. Almost No dirt road in Singapore. Still in reasonable condition.

Congrats on the new baby. And the new child

@volvogt21 wow that's a big saving. Swap the reg plate?

Hey Alain, this only tend to affect 2016/17 bikes to my knowledge. I would advise fitting a magnetic drain plug and just to be sure though

@@MOTODANS - great to hear all going well mate and enjoy every second of being a Dad.
considered putting all your good parts on this one and selling yours?
as you can see i commented before i finished the video...
Did Suzuki ever do anything regarding the gear issues in the newer bikes?
@astonebrook91 only gear issues I am aware of are the 16 17 models with the circlip. Part was never superceeded so would have just been a bad batch. Earlier models are known for 3rd gear blow ups no new ones have this happen I am aware of.
So you had to fix your gearbox at 10000K! Wow. Mine has 20000. Should I worry ? Any signs indicating a problem ?

@@MOTODANS Thanks for the reply
