    These are great bikes for ripping around the city and country roads and reliable. You get bigger brake rotors on the DRZ400sm vs the dual sport DRZ400s model. In 2008-2009 Kawasaki made a KLX250SF supermoto that performed well, but not with the power of the Suzuki here. Kawi has a 300 supermoto now, but not the power of this beast you are showing here. I believe they are skinning you on the price of the 400sm here, as it has been out for ages & I am sure they recovered their tooling costs years ago. Lots of fun. Thanks for the video.

    These are nearly perfect urban bikes for places where the roads aren't the best. Sure an enduro will handle road surface irregularities but if you know you won't be going off road, supermotos can be the better choice. I love that feeling when I juice the throttle a bit and aim for a heave in the road. I also love when I approach a turning lane a bit faster and accelerate during the exit. I can have lots of fun without breaking speed limits. I bought my first bike in 1976 and I owned a GSXR 750 through the Nineties so I've had a bunch of different types of bikes through the years and I have to say that the supermoto is my favorite style of machine.

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  8 місяців тому

      I film in Canada where some EU laws don't exist. That's why they get away without having ABS on this bike. Competitors to this have switchable ABS to get around the legislation, but still deliver the tire sliding fun that supermoto riders want. I disagree about the single disc not being enough on this bike though, these are very light bikes and you can tell that the brakes are plenty powerful enough when you watch a skilled rider take a bike like this and use it in a way that it's made to perform. Keep in mind there are 600 lb cruisers with single disc front brakes. These bikes will out-brake a lot of bigger bikes.

Also, MSRP is 9 thousand, so it's a bit under 10, but yeah, I think everything should be fuel injected by now, but maybe the tweak ability of this bike is part of the appeal and a carb will allow for a bit more tweaking?
