Hurricane Lee brought epic surf to the East Coast and Caribbean this week! New England, New York, Florida, New England, Puerto Rico, and Virginia Beach were some of the standout locations.
Lido Beach in New York got an epic rating on Surfline on September 14th and 15th. Friday was the bigger day with occasional double overhead sets. The deep water offshore held the size and offered dozens of peaks up and down the beach. The wind was howling offshore offering surfers barrels all day long. New York surfing was on full display during this historic run of hurricane surf!
Check Surfline for the latest Hurricane Lee updates as more swell is on the way for select regions.

Guy in the bucket hat probably didn't need it that day with how much time he spent in the shade
Max Beach 💪🏽
Bucket hat guys rad w style
FCS Bucket is $$$$
Yes but the FCS has a pretty secure strap system to hold it in place.@@senorplaya1649
Idk how these guys make it look so easy. I was out there so much Thursday Friday and got pummeled for the most part😭. The craziest thing about this swell was how little current there was. You could be out there for hours and barely break a sweat!!!
No idea such deep barrels existed like that in NY, you boys almost made it look easy. Thanks for the great vid!
Incredible waves. Incredible footage. Keep up the awesome work. 🤙
Thank you for the support!
Best day in history
Historic
Average hurricane swell , far from historic @@SoCalSurfer
Everyone settle down a little. Historic? Ok please enlighten me on the history of hurricane swells in NY …. SO-CALsurfer. Or just stop making claims about surf spots you barely know about. Thank you
Hatboy is ripping
Max Beach
Start spreading the news. - like Puerto Escondido *the drowning hands statue is gone
:47 felt like it hurt just watching it. Simply a disaster of a wave altho i feel like dude who was further inside couldve just gone right and avoided the pile-up
Bucket hat guy is so irritating to watch!
whos the guy in the white hat? He shreds!
I went to long Beach Highschool. Use to surf there in lido back in 1993
Love to hear it!
Swallowed completely covered up.😅
Lee brought me some 10footers over in florida…. My 13 yr old body could barely last those 10 wave hold downs, very fun waves never the less, probably caught 50 in a 7 hour sesh
Best barrels on the entire East Coast from hurricane Lee🏄
AWESOME! Those waves were chucking. Epic clips of talented surfers getting shacked. CHUR FROM THE NAKI NZ
Yew! Thanks for watching 📺 🌊
A once and lifetime in NY
How does New York have this level of talent? Were all these guys shipped in?
Historic surf brings talent. ✈️
@@SoCalSurfer good call
ever hear of a guy named Balaram Stack?
@@terencehealy9225 Yes but I'm from Cali so he's not necessarily on my radar. Balaram is one of those guys that I'd probably see in Bali and be like, cool! I know his name! I've seen him in videos about NY surf throughout the years at Pipe and the usual suspects.
NEW YORK’S BALARAM STACK WINS “WORLD’S MOST PRESTIGIOUS SURF CONTEST,” ETCHES NAME ALONGSIDE KELLY SLATER, ANDY IRONS, GERRY LOPEZ AS PIPE MASTER!
Size matters.. Head-high perfection does not.
"Awh Man!" That water is 🥶
Was good out there
Super excellent waves,😎
Not bad for Jones Beach 👍
The best waves on the East Coast are Ruggles in Rhode Island and Reef Road in Florida. I never surfed them, this is what I heard.
i have 48 yrs surfing New England: From 1989 to 2003, Ruggles and the Lighthouse were on a roll (1989 Gabrielle swell was the greatest of all time.. Then came Bill in 2009, a fairly close 2nd. But, i've begun to question how often R.I. actually outdoes EVERY spot on Long Island. The short answer: it depends on a lot of things coming together. If the storm hits the sweet track, winds tend to stay offshore, or light offshore. The last storm that did all promised: was Bill in 2009, Earl in like 2010 was big for a very few hours, then, blown........ More or less, R.I. has been on a long losing streak. But, Long Island has had many, really good days (much like this video above). One problem: R.I.'sBermuda
Sebastian Inlet's North side used to be the best breaking wave in all of Florida until the jetty was rebuilt and the solid concrete panels were replaced with batter pilings. New Symerna inlet is now tops but is shark bite capitol of the world. Hurricane Sandy moved so much sand from the keys to Maine and changed many of our surf breaks in Florida.
Long Island hasn’t been as good as it used to be either. We use to get far far more swells . @@odurandina
Yes but NY\LI has way more barrels for those talented and fit enough to surf it
thats fucking cap they’re both inconsistent as hell, the best spots on the east coast are the ones no one besides the people that live there know about
wow amazing
these are the real heroes
Huh ? For riding head-high waves ????? Check your priorities button, then thank a Policeman, Fireman, or a US Military service person.
Sick! I grew up on Long Island. Surfed just about every spot there over the years. I've since moved to Maine though
Stay in so cal kook
Wait...was that guy wearing a helmet at a beach break?
Bucket Hat
@@SoCalSurfer 😂 indeed

You must not be as old as you look or maybe you could make your longboard work in those waves😂
Shacked all day in OCEAN CITY , NJ 🤟🏼
