@@Re-flame I thought it looked familiar until I saw the Cyrillic. I used to collect lighters. I have a rare porcelain one from the 1920s that still works.

@TOMMYRestoration This is an electrolyte of electroless nickel plating. I made it myself, a recipe of four chemical reagents + you need to maintain a constant temperature, but it’s much easier to buy a ready-made composition for electrolysis
Hello friend, I am sorry to have to tell you that your lighter is a cheap copy or plagiarism of the Sarome company Produced from 1959 to 1960 The typical VINTAGE SAROME cigarette lighter. Kunijiro, originally a producer of high-class toys, manufactured several of his cigarette lighters for fun. This model was one such lighter, manufactured in the motif of a cruiser. Only one other model at the time was designed with equal whimsy, the camera design model. CRUISER was received with delighted surprise as soon as it hit the market. Many units were shipped outside of Japan, especially to the USA

Why did the lobster turn red? Because he saw the Queen Mary's bottom.

Why did the lobster turn red? Because the sea weed.

So what is the purpose of the cotton?
The cotton inside the lighter is used to absorb the gasoline and prevent it from leaking.

What did you use to make it rusty in the first place?
time)
what is the clear fluid you used that turned yellowish?
it is a solution of hydrogen peroxide, citric acid and salt. it instantly starts to react with rust, so it turns yellow
