Seeing that tall corn slapping under the boom reminds me of cultivating corn in early 70’s when dad still wire checked corn and I cultivated it 3 times, long ways then crossways and then longways when the slapped under the cross frame of the 4 row front mount cultivator. It could get hypnotic so I’m impressed you could stay on the rows as well as you did. Good job!
Very interesting indeed and the corn looked magical as you drove through it at that height :). I'm a New Englander and I have always thought that corn fields are beautiful...I get to see just how beautiful through your channel and I learn just how hard and ongoing the battles for farmers are. I'll wish for Mother Nature to cooperate with Iowa and thank you so much for the videos. (PS..please give hugs to Bandit :).)
Fungicides are both preventative and curative. They are either contact or systemic (absorbed into the plant). Curative is basically when the disease is present it shuts it down from doing any more damage. Just my 2 cents being a golf course supt. dealing with turf. Enjoy all of your videos!
Spent 10 years in a dts10. Sprayed tasseled corn with it no problem. If you plan on doing much fungicide on corn I'd build a rear boom for the middle section so your not putting chemical on the windshield.
Really cool. It would have been crazy to see a camera view from the underside of the sprayer just to see how much clearance you had; you’d have probably lost a GoPro though lol.
If considering a used hagie, is there significant maintenance to a sprayer, non-mechanical person, At what operating hours #, would you expect concerns, ?
Maybe I missed you saying it. But what kind of fungicide did you use? I tried valtyma this year. My agronomist claimed it will keep the canopy 10 degrees cooler during pollination. About 3 days ago the flag leafs were out, so tassel time is right around the corner.
I thought you said the fungicide treatment was intended for 5 ft. corn. it looked like you were running through 7 ft. corn. Don't trust Bandit with the tape measure.
I think that’s the tallest corn I have seen a piece of equipment run through. Or, your sprayer died and you never got it out of the field and corn grew up around it.

Thanks Rick!
Great video Ben
Awesome looking corn crop

Shorts, boots, pliers on the belt, and a pearl snap shirt = chicks everywhere lol
Nice tips.

Ellen Lee thanks for watching!
It will be interesting to see the outcome on the yield. Great video!!
Jim Clary thanks for watching!
Corn looks good
Hi Ben, more videos! You really have a lot to offer - great knowledge and set-up. You need to grow your channel ! Hi Molly !
Reminds me me of running Haggie buggies thru seed corn fields for Pioneer seed co back in the day !
Charles Kittler taking off corn tassels?
iowANFarmer yes driving wheel pullers for detasseling instead of hand pulling !

Todd Hauschildt I agree with your statement. It stops further spread but doesn’t reverse damage.
It's hard to tell but I think you had a tipor nozzle plugged out towards the end of the boom !! 😂Lol !!! Glad you were driving through there!!
Better have your BIG boy 👦 pants 👖 on to ride with you!! Great ride a long. Thanks 🙏.

Nathan Wagner no doubt!
Nathan Wagner did you every have to tighten up the steering?
Changed tie rod ends once. Sitting still turn your steering wheel back and forth and see how much play is in them.

Chris Wells it was rubbing the belly pan the whole time.
50% of. I see what you did there. 😂👏
How much corn do you loose turning on the end rows with the corn that high? Awesome video though!
John Wightman not too much. That’s why I wouldn’t spray end rows on the straight rows.
How do you like the dts?thinking of buying one and it would be my first sprayer.
how are your test plots coming that you did a couple of videos ago? The ones where you planted different rows of different things.
Arron Lockyer check out the Van Roekel Family Farm Service youtuber channel. I give and update. Thanks for asking!
Do you run over and damage some of the corn during this process?
John Medlin on the end rows yes.
Hey Ben, you need a Drone for an overhead view.
Boomer Rube I’ve actually got one. I just need to get it working

BILL UPSTATE NY haven’t researched that enough to know unfortunately.
BILL UPSTATE NY but great question!
What fungicide are you using
Maybe I missed you saying it. But what kind of fungicide did you use? I tried valtyma this year. My agronomist claimed it will keep the canopy 10 degrees cooler during pollination. About 3 days ago the flag leafs were out, so tassel time is right around the corner.
Bob Kyllo I didn’t mention the product name but your right on track. That’s quite the clam of agronomist and I’d tell him to prove it.
I don't know how you can see driving through those rows. That looked a lot taller than 5 foot corn.
damanifesto I just put the centerline in front of me and go!
I guess a group 11? Did you use a full rate at this stage?
TwoHappyChildrenFarm Veltyma full rate

Chevy +Durmax = churmax

Ste Park check out the Van Roekel Family Farm Service UA-cam. I did an update.

What fungicide you use?
