Great part 3! The connection between these activities and riding is hard to convey. But you do it really well! I’m a physio and a Pilates instructor and it is rare to see someone make it simple and available

Leg release. Sit on a chair with leg at 90degrees foot to floor. Add to a leg strech with foot sliding forward a pointed foot positio. Retract to 90degrees to original position. Repeat the slide forward. At the end of the extension, add the ankle external and internal rotation with a pointed foot. A good whole leg repeat is using the hip to internal and external rotation. These exs can be good release for tight calves, legs and trochanter from too much sitting.
I’m watching this from Australia, now in 2023. I hope this will help me. I’m in the process of buying a mare. I;m 55 years old, although I’ve ridden since a kid back in England. I now live in Australia. I hope I am not too late for your documentary. Susan
@@YourRidingSuccess I got told to sit more on my bum and I was like….but I’m sitting on my bum! After watching your first vid in the three part series I was like “oooooooh!, bring the pelvis forward!” 😂😂😂

Well done Alicia on your Pilates for Riders series. Enjoyed it and well described. Future thoughts. Videos are missing the breathing before lifts with the supportive exhale. Alternative muscle release The foot in stirrup position may benefit from using the opposite muscle groups. This can relax muscles and can be used after the stirrup position leg exs. Use dorsiflexion and planteflexion to balance the opposite muscle groups. Equal and opposite directions use and balance all the leg muscle groups through the foot flexions. Love the independent limb moves. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. Well done 😊🌹💕👍🐎🌠

Amazing insight! This has been incredibly helpful! Ive done pilates in the past, & this approach to riding has made so much sense for me. I am struggling a bit with these episode3 exercises! However, I've found my seat & stability in the saddle has already progressed more over the past few weeks, using your knowledge, than it has in years! Literally!! And the stability translates to greater confidence! My body has really changed in my mid 50's. But I'm encouraged now, thankyou to you! In the past few weeks, I've ridden horses that previously felt beyond me, but now Ive felt able to try & have actually achieved contact & was able to ride a rhythmic trot, and a collected canter, & getting smoother transitions in doing walk to canter, canter to trot, for ex!! I feel different in my riding! Better overall!!! My aids are clearer, communication better, all due to your advice & demonstrations. And I believe improvements will continue to follow applying your knowledge! What a great service you are providing! I love that your insights are offered for riders of all levels. So appreciate your videos! Thankyou Alicia & YRS Team! ❤🐴🐎

An edition to exercise 2 is streatching the leg back and moving it side to side. That Way you activate gludius medius as Well as gludius Maximus(buttox). Gludius medius is used as a stability while riding. My physio showed me that exercise 6 months ago and i can REALLY feel a difference 😍 great video
