    Hello! Just wanted to comment and say thank you 👍 I'm 13 and i'm planning to start riding lessons. I attempted to do so a exactly a year ago but had to quit very early, after two lessons, due to health issues that I have since taken care of. Since i've handled it, I think i'm ready to try again! I'm trying to get down all the knowledge I can know as a beginner, and starting extra workouts now will help, I believe. As a teenager my whole thought process is trying to be cooler and smarter than others, and that has clearly gotten the best of me, lol. But back to the point, this video is very helpful and I'm adding it to my playlist 😊!

      Hi! I'm sorry to hear your riding lessons got interrupted by health issues, but well done for powering through and getting back into it - I'm excited for you! I'm glad these workouts are helpful and I hope you will have a great experience getting back in the saddle. I'd love to hear how it goes! 😊❤️

    i feel it more in my arms than my core right now 😭

    • @HorseLearnerFitness
      @HorseLearnerFitness  Рік тому +2

      That's quite normal. There's a lot of weight put onto the shoulders and arms in a plank position. Try to remember to keep pulling your belly button towards the spine to fully activate the core in the plank position as well. Great job! 💪😊

    Will this also help me lose some of that fat on my abbs and waist and add strength for riding?

    • @HorseLearnerFitness
      @HorseLearnerFitness  Рік тому +1

      Hi Amber. I choose not to focus on weight loss on this channel. Regular exercise (strength and cardio) will certainly help you lose weight, but I'm afraid that is not the goal of the workouts I create. I hope you still find them useful and that you reach your riding goals! 😊💪

  • @WalkTimeEquestrian

    How do I engage my core more? Because for some I feel it more in my legs than core

    • @HorseLearnerFitness
      @HorseLearnerFitness  Рік тому +1

      Hi there! That's a great question and it's completely normal to feel plank exercises in the legs and arms/shoulders more than the core, especially if you're not used to them. As your core gets stronger and your technique gets better you will find it easier to engage the core. What you can think about is to pull your belly button towards the spine and also try to imagine that someone is about to punch you in the stomach so you need to brace to prepare for the blow. Of find those 2 visuals very useful if I struggle to tighten the core. Hope that helps! 😊

    • @WalkTimeEquestrian
      @WalkTimeEquestrian Рік тому +1

      @@HorseLearnerFitness Thank you very much!! This is very helpful since I am going into a sport that requires me to use my core a lot more when I ride! So this is helpful 😋

    • @WalkTimeEquestrian
      @WalkTimeEquestrian Рік тому

      Also will this exercise help me get decent defined abs? I’ve been doing this every morning for 3 days now would you say about 6 weeks?

    • @HorseLearnerFitness
      @HorseLearnerFitness  Рік тому +1

      So what defines the abs (like the six-pack abs) are the abdominal muscles. Those are superficial and only on the front of the body. Here we are strengthening the core muscles which are deeper muscles that stabilize the spine and are found around the trunk of our body (both front and back). When we ride, it is really the deep core strength we need for stability, balance and to be able to use our leg aids independently. Abs won't get us very far. So, yes you will notice changes in your abdominal muscles as well when doing this for several weeks, but that's more of an added 'bonus' and not really what the video is focused on :-)
