replace the voltage regulators with LM7805. had my 16.4.2 kept freezing up and sent it back to presonus for about $350 total a few years ago. said they replaced the board but they only replaced the voltage regulators with the same lame voltage regulators. 2 years later board freezes again, now prosonus says board out of service and wont fix it. found a guy to actually replace voltage regulators with beefier LM7805. so far no problems a few months in. good luck. dont have to toss a board where no parts can be salvaged. crazy design that they become disposable.

I've done a lot of research and I feel like this video is the solution to my problem but I want to make sure. do you know for a fact if replacing this will resolve my issue with my SL 16.4.2, it has signal though all channels but there's no output. nothing from the main or any aux outputs. not even the headphone jack works. do you think replacing the firewire module will resolve it? would love anyones feedback thanks.
My SL 16.4.2. is like a freaky corpse asking to be revived. At first, only 4 outputs were working, Sub 1,2 Aux 5,6 (same D/A chip) others dead (CR and headphones crackling), not sure for how long because I used S/PDIF output for the monitor and headphone amp. Then, trying to force a firmware restore (holding Alt + Ctrl) I got a dialogue box asking if I wanted "factory test mode" installed on the StudioLive, instead of what KB article claimed, which I confirmed. Now all LEDs are on and every time I try to flash checksum errors show up in UC 1.7.6 and while UC 1.7.2 completes OK, the process ends without changing anything. That is, I can't get out of 'factory test mode' so the StudioLive is effectively BRICKED. Do you happen to know a way out (hard reset other than UC menu, etc.) or would the 400-PG11394 or the main DSP board more likely be faulty? Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can provide.
A rather sad update. Now I really need a replacement DSP Board. Anyone with a spare StudioLive 16.4.2 DSP Board, preferably close to Sydney, Australia? Attempting to test the Atmel microprocessor's reset signal on pin 39 NRST I mistakenly applied a continuity meter (a logical high) to pin 55 ERASE (same position 7th pin but on another side) and pressing the reset button the 'Running' LED went off and isn't coming back on. In other words, I'm pretty sure I erased the bootloader for the CPU/SOC, which isn't something an outsider like me can get their hands on to flash into the chip. The Atmel datasheet recommends tying the pin to ground on production devices to prevent such accidents, but obviously it is not. So now the board really is bricked, it connects to the Universal Control, but Factory Reset and Check Firmware stop after the initial stage "Reading table of contents" going into "Resetting the panel" (normally at the end) and return a dialogue box 'firmware upgrade encountered an error, unplug your device, blah blah blah '.
Very useful, thanks. I have been suffering with intermittent full GR since 2013 when I purchased it new. New Firewire card makes sense as the firewire implementation is very weak/unstable which ultimately corrupts the software - sometimes you can recover it and other times not. Where are you purchasing the new card from?
@@ChristopherStoppiello Hi Chris, no I couldn't get any parts I am in spain, canary Islands. However my unit is running fine now after my fix. L left a detailed response to a previous enquiry, let me know if you can't find it.

@@coopjammin Any luck sourcing the part? I'm now completely locked out of the mixer for weeks now. Full GR on boot and no audio will pass through.
