I can't wait for the blue. He is ny favorite. I really hope the blue will be next.
Already up for pre order
@@jamesoboyle3026 For real?! Where at?!
I'm really hoping they eventually remake Tiamat in that scale
This. So much this.
Omg yes they totally need to!!!! And Bahumat
Man, they already remade Tiamat...
@@ThriftySteve did you not finish reading the comment? He said in this scale.
@@coreymease7851 yes... I don't want to buy another, bigger Tiamat! The young red dragon is a large creature on a huge base... this adult red dragon is a huge creature on a gargantuan base... that means a remake of the gargantuan Tiamat would be too big for a gargantuan base... what's the point of having that?
Seeing this on your turntable, Theo, I'm more stoked than ever for this one. The CGI preview image released does NOT do it justice.
He's pretty striking! -Theo
I can't wait until they redo Bahamut!
Oooo yeah - Tiamat too, hope they keep the scale going up and they're both massive! 😁
While Id love a Tiamat mini, Bahamut isnt high on my wishlist. As a figure with no official stats, Id rather save my money than them release a $250 paperweight. Bahamut is also a good deity and thus wouldnt see much play in anyone's games, even if he did have stats. You dont tend to drop a mini unless you are gonna fight it.
And tiamat!!!
@@ShadGray yeah i agree, Id much rather have one these grand expensive minis fighting my players then never actually putting one on the table.
I love this new line of minis
I always feel super proud to have been around with the Gallant Goblin since the Rage of Demons mini showcase. Glad to see you growing and producing tons of videos!
Hey, thank you kindly! We're super glad to have you with us, DoctorStaples! -Theo
Red is probably my favorite-looking of the Adults so far. Blue and Silver are the ones I'm waiting for.
Awesome!! This dragon has it all: detailed sculpt, superb paint job, dynamic pose, intimidating size and presence... bravo, Wizkids! This is definitely the best of their new dragon series so far, in what has been a superb lineup. If the adult dragon is this good, I can’t wait to see the colossal... erm, gargantuan equivalent!
And great job as always, guys - really appreciate the closeups, 180-degree rotational views, and above all, the side-by-side product comparisons! It’s pretty evident by now that really, nobody does this better.
Thank you very much, William! We appreciate that! -Theo
It's nice to see properly sized Dragon miniatures and thanks for showing so many comparison shots to other pre-existing miniatures.
To answer your question, I do think they should finish off the Chromatic dragons, but I don't think they should immediately move onto Metallics. I'd rather they focus on other massive but well known monsters, such as the Roc, Elder Elementals, Phoenix, Neothelid, Atropal, or Tarrasque.
I'd also be down for massive named entities, such as Lolth.
I like your idea, especially since those creatures are more likely to be used in battle. We'll see what 2021 has in store for us! -Theo
Lucky for you I never left the page and the comment was still there 😆. "Crazy! I would love for them to come out with a case that can hold these dragons either one type for each size or for all types and sizes!"
Very nice that red dragon. I hope they bring a new Tiamat
You know it's coming eventually! -Theo
It's so coooool!
Red dragons have always been a strong fave and this is easily the best model I've seen. Definitely pre-ordering - can't wait to throw him at my players!
I'm mainly looking forward to this one and Tiamat. I might get the ancient black as well. . . .
I am trying to collect only up to huge miniature sizes for many rea$on$ but it's very difficult to have discipline if they continue to bring this super-sized monsters to the stores! Very impresive monster!
So there pretty much smaug in personality... and just got mine looks absolutely incredible...... wizkids has definitely stepped up there game....
They grace the logo for a reason. Love it
Definitely Awesome! Can't wait to get it to add to my growing collection of dragons!
I love this mini so much. cant wait to get it!
Nice detail, no sure about the pose but very cool overall.
I think Green is the only one not represented in a "D&D" mini either old or new.
The rest of the Metallics would be great but I' not sure how much use people would get from huge or bigger Metallic Dragons.
I'm so happy about the demon lords and archdevils line. If they don't finally make a green dragon around this size (and a second blue), it would be ridiculous, though. 14 years is a long enough wait. They should make similarly gargantuan metallics and a spectacular enormous colossal Tiamat, too. There are people with kids who've been waiting for this stuff since grade school.
Looking through the comment I can see that I am not the only one who neeeeeds Tiamat in this scale.
Awesome looking mini
That will be on my want list
Gorgeous. Love the black dragons pose but the red is also cool while flying
I'm hoping they do a green dragon next, we never got a gargantuan one in the old WOTC line.
That would be awesome!
Surprised it is red next and not Green. Thought they were going in order of size. Still an awesome looking piece.
awesome r3view as ever, my adult red arrives Monday!! Hope to see a Tiamat to scale
I really love the edge work paint job on the wings and frill down the back a very nice paintjob and great presence.
Agreed! Thanks for watching! -Theo
i was waiting for this miniature!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!
Looks grand, though I would love a little more tone on those horns, but the wings and the scales look great. Gonna have to pony up for this one too. I'm just excited to see more of these guys come out, Blue and Green are really going to pop.
I’d really like to see more of each dragon stage. I like the idea of having a parent dragon or dragon family (especially for Metallic dragons), and having an appropriately sized mini for each stage would be ideal.
We seem to be seeing them fill in those younger dragon gaps in their full case releases. We'll see what the future brings! -Theo
Tiamat is gonna be $200. I can feel it.
Wizkids made the Apocalypse Dragon years back for Mage Knights. You can prob find on Ebay. Good stand in for Tiamat!
have they done any miniatures at that price then :O i hope not...
Ship and Tower both had a $250 MSRP... so your guess is probably a bit low. More likely would be in the $250-300 range.
@@ShadGray oh yeah fair enough... i thought it would be around the same price as Arveiaturace. But i guess Tiamat would be as grand as the ship or tower
@@VikentiosHD TBH... still worth it at that price, if they were to release one. It would be highly sought after.
One of my favorite minis I have is the shadow dragon from the Tyranny of Dragons icons of the realm set. It would be awesome to see that in a giant form! Works great with my under dark and shadowfell campaign!
I think we'll see another larger shadow dragon in this line at some point! -Theo
gorgeous!
Thanks for showing the scale of each dragon. Now I know I want them. I actually still have the ancient dragons from previous dnd editions and Orcus from 4th edition. Very tempting to get it from the current edition.
Oh very nice! Glad we could help! -Theo
I loved the pose! I really hope the do Tiamat and Bahamut "minis" hahahahaha
Blue is my favourite so I’m hanging for that one - although if they recreate Tiamat I’ll be pretty keen to have that in my shelf!
I’ve made the decision to collect these awesome dragons! I picked up the adult white today, and I’m gonna get the adult black next
Great job n pronouncing all those tongue-twisting dragon names!
*bows* Dexterity is my tongue’s dump stat. -Theo
Just give me the adult green dragon, and then give me all the adult chromatic dragons as a Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures unpainted figure, so I can do some god damn painting!
Majestic!
Great review!
Thank you, Wes! -Theo
Hey Santa, one more item for the list. I would love to see Tiamat in all her massive glory soon. Also I would love dinosaurs in the larger scale. Thanks for the review Theo.
Thanks for watching! -Theo
during a mini mayhem unboxing Wizkids stuff implied that new Tiamat and Bahamut minis will be releasing along side dracoliches
Ahg, I've missed some of Vee's videos lately. Thanks for the heads up! Maybe we'll see if we can get her on the channel to chat about the minis sometime soon! -Theo
@@TheGallantGoblin How can you have so much contact with wizkids like they always send you pre orders and no offense there are dnd/pathfinder channels far larger than yours but you always get pre orders before everyone else like how? Idk out of curiosity also your reviews are great and they help me decide what i want to save money for so yeah thanks

AWESOME!!! I hope they finish the Chromatic Dragons first preferably the Green one i need voor Chuth in one of the Chapters of Rise of Tiamat. also... OMG... if they do TIAMAT TO SCALE!!? that wil be such an epic end to my Tyranny of Dragons Campaign. anyway thanks for the video again!
Thanks for these!
Thanks for watching! -Theo
I just got my first adult size dragon figure in the form of the dye cast red dragon from the walmart set, it was on sale alongside the beholder set for a total of 12$ good find, but i really want to have all the adult dragon figures just to display
Ah yes, we reviewed that set a few months ago. That dragon and this one would look quite interesting next to each other! -Theo
I CNAT WAIT FOR A COPPER DRAGON!!!!
God that looks so good. Really looking forward to the blue it's my favorite (seems like most ppl's as well).
I want this red dragon soooooo bad!
i love the red, looks amazing. i am pretty covetous of all the mini's you have :D
itd be cool if they finished the chromatic and then used the gods to transition to the metallic. i really love my bahamut but id be more than happy with another one
I want them to make the biggest Fang Dragon possible, gargantuan I think!!!
Wait wait wait. Do my eyes deceive me? Is that Red Dragon bigger then the old Pathfinder one?!
the body may not be, but the head and paws... I wasn't going to buy this one since I already have the Pathfinder one, but after seeing them side by side? Damn, I'm buying that one for sure...
God if I didn’t preorder the adult black and ancient white I’d preorder him today, well guess I’m doing another preorder early January, can’t wait to see what the ancient red is going to look like.
Great video Theo!
As for my hopes and concerns for the line: I know Green and Blue Dracoliches are coming with Boneyard, and I hope those don't replace the regular Green and Blue. Let those be in addition, Wizkids, please please please! After they do finish the Chromatics, some Shadow Dragons would be nice, before jumping into the Metalics. While I DO love Metalics, they dont tend to be things you fight often and, while any and all are welcome into my collection, only Gold and Silver would probably ever see any play at my table (tbh). On a final note, Arveiaturace is a beautiful figure, and I do hope at some point in the near future we get more Ancient Dragons released... but if nothing else, Wizkids really needs to drop an Ancient Red.
Lastly, finish us off with a Tiamat premium (Even if it's at the $250 price point like the ship and tower). I see a lot of people hoping for Bahamut as well, but he just isnt on my wishlist. Like Metalics, he just isnt something players are likely to fight (and there are no stats for him, if they did). I really dont want a second $250 mini that will just sit on a shelf.
Just got one of Miniature Market for $42, they're having a massive sale.
Nice! -Theo
Very nice review, love the dragon series.
Maybe until we wait for the WizKids blue Dragon,
could you review the HQ Resin - Hexarr the Storm Dragon, that would be great.
If I can get my hands on it! -Theo
Lo amo!
I'd like them to finish the chromatics then maybe hit shadow and dracolitch before moving on to metallic. I find that metallics spend most of their time in theatre of the mind rather than on the game mat anyway.
Agree, though I'd like to see more opportunities in adventures to use them. "Good" for a dragon, often doesn't mean what a humanoid thinks it does.
I really want a ancient green dragon for 5e since the last one released was for pathfinder, but I'll still be happy with an adult
Gonna have to add that one too ! My poor wallet ! I want the Green Dragon next. Great vid as always.
BEST DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS A.K.A D&D PERIEY PAINT RED DRAGON
MINIATURE FIGURE EVER
Loving the new size for the dragons. Tiamat and Bahamut minis were nice sculpts, but scale (for me) seemed way off. Hope they redo Tiamat and Bahamut.
new gargantuan sized tiamat and Bahamut? Adult metal dragons? Personally, I would like to see Ugin and Nicol bolas miniatures for DnD, as well as adult dragons for each of the five dragon clans of tarkir from magic the gathering. those dragons are just significantly more interestingly designed and have much more personality.
That would be really interesting! -Theo
A Nicol Bolas would be interesting, and I could almost see some MTG players buying it just as a room decoration. However, Wizkids did releases for Ravnica and Theros and Im not sure how well they sold (I know my FLGS has a ton still in the case that havent moved). While WotC continues to push the D&D/MTG crossovers, Nicol Bolas is a possiblity at some point, but unless something big happens, I cant see Wizkids racing to produce a mini out of him.
@@ShadGray maybe this is just me, but I really do not like most of the base DnD monsters and their miniatures. Dungeons and dragons is fantasy without a doubt but in an effort to make itself more unique and licensable they becamefurther from the kind of fantasy I want to play or dm in, and many (not all of course) MTG planes are precisely what I am looking for. I truly enjoy the planeshift articles, as well as the others book, and use those more for inspiration than any other official DnD product. The main DnD dragons are boring to me, with little flavor and personality while Bolas and Ugin as well as the Tarkir dragons are just brimming with all sorts of personality and uniqueness. And I get that it's all personal opinion, and I'm sure DnD will never stop making classic monsters and such because they will inevitably sell amazingly, but as someone who came to magic first and is in more in love with the worldbuilding set up there I know that I wish for more and more MTG based figs rather than displacer beasts and beholders. even if they only made the dragons say, polukranos size, I would gladly buy those over any amount of Classic DnD monsters I just hold no love for.
I can imagine the new Tiamat mini to be the same size, or at least comparable, to the Giant Walking Statue from Dragon Heist.
Oh yes, more dragonsssss..
Skip the shadow and dracolichs until we have Metallics, and metal. Make the gems first. Metallic are super cool, but because of their alignment you won’t find yourself needing to fight one very often.
I ordered this and I am STILL waiting...I was foolish and ordered it the same time as I ordered the named White, Orcus, Waterdeep Statue, and something else...so I must wait on my least favorite of the dragons to get all the rest of the goodies.
Great review, and thanks a lot for the comparison! Seems he/she is comparable in body mass to the PFB Gargantuan Red but beats it at wingspan. Curious to see how the Fangs & Talons Young Red differs from the rest in color, is a much brighter shade of red and lacks the burnt black splotches on the wings. Niv Mizzet is oddly, somewhere between the two. Maybe he would be a "Young Adult" same as the similar sized Rime of the Frostmaiden White Dragon?
I love the pose and this is a definite must have. I wonder if the Jada Nanometals Red Dragon is comparable in size? Thanks to your review I did buy that one and love the feel and weight of the metal, even if it lacks detail.
True that Tiamat now looks way too small compared to the Adult and Ancient Dragons... that said I always considered the old WotC and the Icons mini just her Aspect, IE Avatar in 2E, a smaller weaker version of a god that they can send out to do their will and go to the Material Plane where gods are otherwise forbidden to go (and more powerful gods can even have several avatars at the same time). While I'd welcome a new, gigantic Tiamat, I'd like a Tarrasque first. It's a very iconic D&D creature that never had an official mini yet.
As for Dragons, hope they make the Green and Blue next. To be frank I am happy with the Gargantuan Brass and Silver we have as Adult sized dragons. They can make the Copper, Gold and Bronze, but I don't feel we need new versions of those, not with the reprints. Gem Dragons would be awesome, but will only happen if we get 5E stat blocks. I really wish WotC made a Monster Manual II or a Draconomicon, to give Wizkids more creatures to make.
Just gimme the Ancient Green Dragon then I'll be satisfied
I’m running a home brew right now where the final bad is a green dragon. We want to run the final fight in person after Covid is a lesser concern and I’ll need an awesome mini.
100% agree I like the pathfinder one but the ancient green dragon needs a 5e model.
Pleeeeeeease!
Hoping for the blue Dragon mini, That's the one I really want see. as for the rest finish off Evil dragons than the good dragons, then finish with Tiamat and bahamut.
What is the one between the Tyranny one and the new one in the comparison picture? I think it got left out of the caption.
Whoops! You're right! It got left off the captions! It's the Pathfinder Battles: Gargantuan Red Dragon from their Dungeons Deep set. We recently reviewed it here: ua-cam.com/video/K2e3_C1Um2k/v-deo.html -Theo
Orium dragon 🤞
hey there, hope everything is going great! i was wondering if the unpainted dragons from nolzurs are the same size as their corresponding painted versions from icons or if they are smaller
Yes! I've only held the unpainted adult white dragon and the large tiamat figures, but they were the same size as their painted siblings! -T
I’m sure they’re going to finish out the chromatic dragons before they move on to the metallic. Then the gem dragons.
No gem dragons until they get official stat blocks in 5e according to Wizkids. Looks like there might be a dragon themed source book coming based on some of the recent UA though.
I hope they do all the Chromatic dragons first. I have a question. If you ignore that smaller ring on the stand and use the full base to represent size, would it take up the space of an ancient dragon?
Yes an ancient dragon is gargantuan and takes up a 4 inch threat space which is what the base of this figure covers.
Anyone hoping for a tarrasque mini in the near future?
I really wanna get this red dragon, I ordered the black one but im having second thoughts for this one... any thoughts?
I mean at the end of the day it’s about whether you can make use of it and whether you like this particular figure’s aesthetic. Red dragons are probably the most commonly created dragon type across all editions of D&D and Pathfinder, plus fantasy mythology in general, so there’s certainly no shortage of alternative options. But if you’re looking for an adult red dragon for 5e and want it to match alongside other 5e dragons, and you have the money to spare, then this is the most updated figure. If you just want the most impressive red dragon for D&D though, you may want to consider seeing what the gargantuan ancient red dragon looks like. -Grady
I really want a new ancient red dragon, the colossal one is just tooo much money for me lol
It sad that even junky ones from China at places like Walmart are stupid expensive. Maybe make friends with a resin printing hobbyist?
@Golden Griffon they have definitely come a long way in quality of sculpts and painting, they are no ware close to Gdubs or forgeworld but still so much better than the old days
Im not sure if I missed it, but the tiles with lava and flame, what is that?
That would be Hellscape from Dwarven Forge. You can see our review here: ua-cam.com/video/u6V80K6JR0I/v-deo.html -Theo
@@TheGallantGoblin Thank you!
Any idea if wizkids is going to do adult and ancient metallics aftet they finish the chromatics? Or do you think there's not enough demand?
They do plan to do the metallics.
@@TheGallantGoblin man i hope the collab between them snd wizards doesnt fall apart like galeforce 9. Id be so sad. These minis they keep cranking out each month are so great.
Wouldn't it be great to get a shadow dragon or dragolich
We do have two dracoliches coming very soon! -Theo
That's great, so excited for that video
Was really hoping for more of a review. My dragon wobbles a lot, not sure if it's a "normal" amount of wobble, and I was looking for comments on that. I do not like these in-flight poses. You can't really play with them like you can a boots-on-the-ground model. Their breakages is more a "when" then an "if".
Thanks for the feedback! I didn't notice any noticeable level of wobble on mine for whatever reason. The in-flight minis have certainly become better over time, but I certainly know some folks prefer the grounded versions instead. -Theo
Adult Blue or Green Dragon... Or Ancient Blue Dragon... :)
Really curious to see the ancient blue too. -Theo
@@TheGallantGoblin Are you saying there IS going to be an ancient blue? God have mercy on my wallet if you are... ;-P
If they redo tiamat she might be the size of the table.
That alot of big dragons, any skeleton dragon or I don't recall I seen one ,the real big one I meant????..??
Pathfinder Battles: Skull & Shackles had a gargantuan skeletal dragon as its premium figure! You can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/WjlJxLqyqdE/v-deo.html
In 2024 these dragons are almost $100.00.
Hey do you or anyone know of the next adult dragon coming?? I have bought the red, white, and black already!!!
Next in line we have the Adult Blue Dragon scheduled for the end of April. www.minisgallery.com/index.php?id=5897&task=image&imageName=Adult%20Blue%20Dragon. -Theo
@@TheGallantGoblin Thank you! Any idea when this available for pre order on miniature market??
@@dillonshrader4966 Not sure about that, Dillon. Sorry! -Theo
Anyone tried painting over this one? Or even better, paint stripped it?
Ancient Green please! They never did one in previous sets, and all we have is that weird looking one from PF...Bleh!
Not a fan of the turned head sculpts.... the adult black looked great!
Maybe I'm crazy, but honestly I think they're making dragon minis too big. If a creature is 'Large', shouldn't it be sized to appear 'Large'?
You can't tell me the Blue Dragon in Fangs and Talons doesn't look like it should qualify as Huge
The explanation we’ve heard is that there’s a range of sizes within each size category like how a short human and a tall halfling could have some overlap in height despite being medium and small respectively, and dragons fall the the large end of their size spectrum. My personal opinion is that Wizards of the Coast probably didn’t fully think through the implications of dragon sizes and are now constrained by the limited number of categories present in 5e. -Grady
@@TheGallantGoblin Oh, I totally agree, Grady!
Not that I don't love these awesome minis! I'm actually planning to run a modified Dragon of Icespire Peak for a crew to mix it up since some of them have already played, and I'll be using a Blue Dragon instead of a White Dragon for the big bad, using the Fangs and Talons mini!
I wish they would make miniatures for the Demon lords
The Demon Lord and Archdevil line has already begun with Orcus! More to come! -Theo
She's a beauty of a sculpt and paint job but I gotta be honest bud that's not my favorite pose at all. To me it looks almost as if the red is fleeing from something yet looking back over her shoulder at her prosuer. As you mentioned red are highly highly highly arrogant, to the point where their overconfidence is one of their only true exploitable downfalls. With all that being said I don't picture them flying away unless they are banged up beyond all repair or being hunted by a god or something. Maybe I'm just reading to much into the pose?
Great video as always though, thanks!
Hmm, I hadn't thought of that, but I can understand that interpretation. Maybe you'll like the ancient red better! Can't wait to see that one! -Theo
@@TheGallantGoblin I still like it, lol my mind just automatically looks for the story a model is trying to tell me as soon as I look at it ( I think its part of the DM portion of my brain or something). Like I said I probably am just looking to deep into it bud, but yeah I'm dying to see the other red and I have always loved the horns on the bridges of the nose on blue dragons, to be honest Goldie's are the only design I don't care for from D&D
I almost imagined it as if the dragon came to a screeching halt midair at hearing an adventurer having the audacity to insult it.
@@Aplesedjr hey vicious mockery is no laughing matter , dragons can be very sensitive about their weight , or if you suggest they may be spawned from an over exuberant night with a gecko lol .
while i have no problem with the price WizKids is asking for many of the products they sell, i believe they have gone completely off of there rockers when pricing the yawning portal terrain set $360 msrp for mostly card board it is time for the greed to stop they want to charge that kind of money for this cheap of a product they have lost me just when times are toughest for people there greed becomes untenable
It's a big, expensive set for sure. We'll try to give you a thorough look at it to see the full quality of all the pieces. I've been curious about it for quite some time myself. -Theo
