Thank you. Chat help at Rinnai website wasn't all that helpful. It gave me a broken link and then a survey pop-up that erased the link and the conversation. This video is much better!
I have Rinnai tankless water heater with built in recirculation (RUR199IN) . I highly don’t recommend them if you care about comfort. Sometimes when showering, mid shower, the water goes from cold to hot for more than a minute. I presume recirculation is kicking on while showering. And the low flow rate is obnoxious. Had it for nearly 2 years and this still annoys me.
i have the same unit and it never goes cold, ever. i do not have the circ pump connected and you can also set the times if you do have it connected. so as not to give you a cold shower!
@@deadhead73 I just turn the hot water on at the sink low while I shower. This ensures that min flow rate is reached. Other option to to install a high flow shower head. This is only a problem for me in the summer where the incoming water is already warm.
u're instructions were bank on had it raised in 30 seconds. i only raised it for dishwasher use not sinks i left it at 140 but so far it is not going that high gets to 135 so we will keep an eye on it
I need help. I used this video in the past and it worked at my last apartment. I recently transferred to another apartment in the same complex, so same tank and everything… problem is when I press 1a nothing happens? I’ve held it for different durations of time and even tried tapping it. Anything I might be able to do or try to fix it?
You have to override the system. Go to the panel on the right of the unit. There will be a tag that says don’t touch unless you’re a professional. Well todays your lucky day you are a professional. You’ll see some numbered tabs . Click number 6 down trust me it’s that simple and adjust you temperature to whatever you want . Hope this helps
Thank you so much for making these videos! Mine looks a little different from that and does not show the a button. I’d like to send a picture and ask your advice
Thanks very much for you video. I just moved to a newly constructed house which has Rinnai V75e. It is outdoor gas unit and it does not have temperature controller installed. What are my options? Thank you
My model built in 2017 doesn’t respond to the side control panel button. Instead, you just simply move the dip switch #6 to On then push the up temp button.
Mine is this exact same unit and I go through this tutorial perfectly and it will not go above 120. Could there be a lock on it preventing this bypass? The plumber that installed it said it would not go up further and it was illegal for it to be higher.
Also, it's not illegal, but let me say this in all caps: "AT 130°F, EVEN BRIEF EXPOSURE CAN CAUSE SEVERE BURNS." Google it, it's a legit safety hazard. Older tank heaters with an A/B/C dial say "DANGER" here. That said, mine's at 140 so the dishwasher and washing machine get good and hot. Guests are warned about maxing the taps.
thanks for the video. small correction it is B not 6 (01b)
same thing bud it worked which is great
Love how you showed us UP CLOSE the A & B buttons

Very helpful. Just did and worked great!!!! Thanks
Your recap is wrong.. It is 01A for max 120, and 01b for max 140. Also all the parameter settings are (A, b) and some goest to (C & d)
Yep. Recap is WRONG
Perfect raised mine to 130 degrees for now just took 5 minutes to unscrew the panel and adjust the code
Thanks for your video, really helpful! do you know how to fix a error code 55 on the same type of rinnai tankless?
This is great info. On this video, I can actually see that black buttons!!!

Thanks for the insight and may you continue to have success!!😊
Thank you. I set to 130. But it keeps falling down to 120 on its own. Can you please advise how to get 130 default.
u're instructions were bank on had it raised in 30 seconds. i only raised it for dishwasher use not sinks i left it at 140 but so far it is not going that high gets to 135 so we will keep an eye on it
Do you have to leave switch 6 in the ‘right’ position?

same did you find the fix

Does this impact warranty? installer told me it might and to just try it out at 120 and see if we felt it was OK. i do like it hot!
How do I turn up my hot water ..my rannai did not come with a control pad
Thank you so much for making these videos! Mine looks a little different from that and does not show the a button. I’d like to send a picture and ask your advice
Perfect explanation. Thank you
Right on Lupton! Appreciate your feedback.
Good info recap need adjusting though.
Thanks very much for you video.

You have open the panel to see the temperature controller.
Thank you for this video!
Great video thanks

Thank you!!!!! And it’s the orange upper dip switches for someone reading this later. Moves to the right.
Your recap is backwards
Also, will this allow me to use my WiFi app to change the temperature to what i want. For now, i am set at the default 120F. Thanks!
Does this allow you to now control the temperature from the face of the unit, and not have to open the unit up again to change to a different setting?
Yes, it does on mine. So nice.
Thanks!
Hello, I have one at home, and I can't use two bathrooms at the same time because the water gets cold, can someone tell me what I can do?
Mine won't go over 120f it's brand new but doesn't have an A & B button.
Does it require a add on board to get 160 water temps ?
Is there a way to make the default LOWEST temperature setting lower than 98F?
Thank you! thank you so much!
Perfect video, thanks for this upload!
Thank You. 😉
Thank you 🙏
I had a rl 75i. Is the setting similar to this or different?
Thanks for the video.. unfortunately my problem is code 63
So if I called a plumber out, I imagine this is exactly what they’d do?
Yes.
I wanted to change the temp to 150. What gives????
Couldn’t find the a button
01b not 6
Your recap isn’t accurate
My wife wants it hotter. How do I get it hotter than 140??
Nothing happens when I push the A button - or the B button for that matter
There are small breaker switches from 1-8. Make sure you flip the 6 on. Then you can adjust temperature.
@@zagato77904 this was the answer I was looking for. (RL75 model) Thank you very much

New RSC199 here. In the manual under "4.12 Configure Parameter Settings," (p61), it says to press button A *for 1 second*.
