Join me as I prepare for a nostalgic visit to an old Dutch farmhouse, a monumental gem nestled near the water and untouched for decades. To mark one of our final visits before it changes hands, I'm baking homemade blueberry muffins - my current favorite treat. The process is simple and comforting, from preparing the crumble topping to mixing the batter with buttermilk, sugar, and eggs.
Despite the dark, rainy weather upon our departure, our spirits were lifted as we arrived to the clearing skies and the welcoming committee of friendly farm cats. The farmhouse, likely built around 1886 on the site of an original windmill from 1592, is a portal to the past. Its interiors, adorned with 70-year-old wallpaper and vintage bedsteads, whisper stories of bygone days.
Surrounded by the rustic charm, we indulge in the delightful combination of fresh blueberry muffins and coffee. The sight of milk boats in old photographs and the breathtaking view from the farm reinforce the timeless beauty of this place.
Outside, autumn's touch is evident, and the sheep shed beckons us for a fluffy meet-and-greet. The friendly sheep, some bottle-fed, exhibit their curiosity toward us, the new visitors.
The day is filled with simple joys - from cuddling with the farm's cats to soaking in the serene views of boats gliding by. It's a day of gratitude for the rain that stopped and the opportunity to immerse in this beautiful scenery.
As we bid farewell to our gracious hosts, A&H, we reflect on the unforgettable and unique experience at the farmhouse - a true testament to preserving history and creating warm memories.

Thank you! Yes, I am thinking about putting the recipes in the description box or somewhere else. The reason why I am currently not doing it is because the UA-cam algoritm used to put my videos with the cooking channels (which is not good). I am not really a cooking channel, it is a little bit of everything. More a daily life kind of thing with some cooking. But I think I found a solution for it, so in my next videos I will somewhere provide the complete recipe! Thank you♥️
