cake flour 150g (1+1/4 cups)
sugar 130g (2/3 of a cup)
salt 1/4 tsp if you use unsalted butter
butter 150g (2/3 of a cup)
vanilla 1&1/2 tsp
egg 143g (3 eggs)
baking powder 3g (1tsp)
baking soda 1g (1/2 tsp)

I'm so glad you were able to lift yourself out of such gloom. I love birthdays! Mine and everyone else's and I always make a cake, give gifts and sing the Happy Birthday Song. Every year is a gift and an achievement. I've had 69 such years and I expect to have a lot more.

It was a 6inch tin.

From the time I was 28, I believe, I dreaded becoming 40. It was looming there in the background - and, from the time I turned 36, I was absolutely horrified by it, by becoming really, truly *old.*
And then, my 40th birthday came - and, that day, I met my Friends (they didn't know it was then), and I could not tell them, _"it is my birthday, I am 40 today!"_
And then, the very moment came... and I was 40 years old.
And *felt exactly the same, as I did at 39 and 38. No **_"old age"_** AT ALL.*
That was when *all* my fears of "old age" dissipated and vanished. 😃
In less than two weeks time, I will be 49. Old to be sure, but I don't care about that - so, I am not as physically strong, or as mentally flexible, as I was 30 years ago, back in my youth. So What.
I am only *extremely* sad and depressed about being alone.
I think I’m going through that life curve too. 😊 Take care of your mind and body and the rest will follow your way. Praying for you to be blessed with all the love in the world. You will come out of the loneliness. ❤️

What if we change the word “goal” to “plan”? When we don’t reach goals, it feels like failure. When we simply plan to do something, it feels like possibility. Two different ways of looking at the future.

I always feel uncomfortable on my birthdays, it's not fear of age, I like the maturity, knowledge and some tranquility that age brings. I really prefer to spend my birthday in the company of the few people I really love, a good cake, my books and my cat. But the discomfort remains and I've learned to accept it as normal.
