CSX I031 lead locomotive after hitting a Cement truck

- On the morning of 9/21/23,CSX I031 would hit a concrete truck on Big Oak Rd at CP TL in Bucks County, PA. A fire had erupted but firefighters were able to put out the blaze.At this time there are no reports of any injury’s. If you repost this clip make sure to give credit @BTC_Productions on UA-cam.
Using this video in court should provide some concrete evidence.

You need to get in something heavy like a locomotive. Tornadoes can lift lighter rail vehicles up.
Although the Xenia Ohio tornado in the 70's picked up several RR cars. Don't know if there were any engines picked up or not.
I haven't seen a locomotive lose a fight in my 64 years on this planet. No matter the opponent, they always win.

Only the front walkway, cow catcher, and coupler were destroyed. That locomotive was probably repaired and put back into service within a week. That’s pretty impressive considering it hit a 30,000 pound cement truck.
I don't know that you can accurately deduce that being the only damage, there remains the question of the impact shock waves and whether they caused displacement of internal structures and systems.

A modern 6 axle locomotive weighs between 200-400,000 pounds. They prob didn’t feel very much especially if pulling cars and moving at a decent speed.😬😬😬🫣🫣🫣🔥🔥
@@steveo601 I was getting off of a city bus about 20 years ago and a car rear-ended the bus, probably at 20 mph while trying to stop, barely felt the bus move at impact.
Was a machinist for rr a few years ago. These things are battleships with steel wheels on rails. Amazing machines.

Me too and some of the parts we'd machine/make for them were just plain heavy-duty and almost indestructible. I have a small video when I was making/machining a few parts. Electrolux piston I believe, it's been 13 years...

I work for a western class one and from the way it looks the fact that she's still on the rail and able to move is a miracle in itself, I'm guessing the crew besides a new pair of underwear are OK. Damn idiots continue to get in front of that little 10ft section that we call the danger Zone.
Yes the crew were okay,yeah it’s unbelievable people see the gates go down and then proceed to still go around them. It’s scares the crew and the consequences can be very bad
If a train hits something hard if the track doesn't get destroyed the big locomotives usually stay on the track after a collision its went them flatbed trucks are on the crossing the train wheels go over it and derail then it's one big mess

Locomotives are built like tanks. I once had a chance to tour the cab of one, and went in through the nose door. The steel was 2 or 3 inches thick.

As someone who has done electrical work on these i can say there's not much forward of the cab that is mission critical. I suppose the coupler for the main wire harness could short out as there is usually a connection point in the front and back so multiple locomotives can work together. The frames on these are quite something else i was once working under a frame and accidentally smashed my head into it and it didnt even vibrate, i do think mu skull bent in for a second tho. Some of those pieces are easily 6 to 8 inches thick by at least a foot wide. If your wondering, i used to install computer monitoring black box systems on older locomotives and other electrical stuff.

Train vs cement truck appears to be the equivalent of a car hitting a scooter.
I worked on wreck locomotives.
I at times find parts of bodies or chunks of flesh..
By then its rotting pretty and we call the coroner to come and gather the findings.
In my teen years working at a wrecking yard, i was cutting up a VW van where the front was pushed in, floor had lots of blood and it was a gagging odor from it.
Under the passenger front seat i found a womans sandal with her toes attached to it.. which answers where all of the blood came from.

@reginaldgarner4321 from what my contacts at SEPTA told me about the incident. SEPTA deactivated power to the catenery wires running above due to a fire from the incident. Judging by CSX and SEPTA personnel, I assume they cut the power to the crossing, or it wasn't powered at the time.

You are correct about the trailer, a report said it was hauling gypsum. It was around sunrise, 5:30AM, and the driver tried to beat the barriers and got stuck between the barriers. Very poor judgment for the truck driver; hope he got fired. If you do a search on Volumetric Concrete Mixer Trailer, it will give you a good image of what it looked like.

My granddad was an engineer and on one haul a guy in a brick truck tried to beat his train at a crossing... it didn't end well for the truck as you can imagine. It exploded the truck and sent bricks flying everywhere...bricks about filled the train cab having come thru the windows...fortunately no one in the train was injured... unfortunately the driver of the truck was killed upon impact.

I grew up in Boston and people would jump in front of the train at least a few times a year...it was normally the subway orange or blue line...but sometimes the purple line (which were full size locomotives or Amtracks) My dad knew a guy that worked maintenence in South Boston train yards and he would tell him about it. Sad😢

That's what Hybrid means. It's a combination of Diesel and Electric. Diesel generator up top, electric motors between the wheels.

A train loaded with ammonia nitrate hit a gasoline truck in my hometown Norphlet Arkansas in 62 I believe it was. We had to evacuate along with two more towns including the northern half of El Dorado. Several boxcars full on fire with diesel fuel leaking from the train. BIG mess, and a miracle it didn’t blow. I was about 6 but remember that sound well.
