Dc has good movies it’s just the expectation that they were going to be like marvel films is what ruined it. MOS BVS WW Aquaman Shazam and birds of prey are all really good movies. The tone in each film fits the characters. JOSSTICE league and studio squad are the ones that gave us a deep look into what would the DCEU look like if it was an mcu film.

It's important to know whether you are talking about comics or movies.... Comics DC is better....movies Marvel has had the upper hand since Spiderman. But we can't ignore the 80's Superman movies...the 90's and 00's Batman/Dark Knight series and to a lesser extent Wonder Woman had some very well done installments.
After Endgame, I thought I was done with superhero stories in general. However, this summer I’m watching the DCAU for the first time, and it’s reminded me of when I was 9 and crazy for Superman. I thought I had superhero fatigue, but I think I just liked DC better than Marvel from the beginning. I just didn’t realize it with all the MCU films coming out year after year.
This is a great comment, this speaks to the strength of those DC animated films that came out years ago, that whole original DCAU, and the animated series etc. Really great stuff, too bad those creators aren't there anymore

The Justice League animated series gives me so much nostalgia and I adored the character development and team work of teenagers in the Young Justice. They were my all time favorite.

Endgame is about superheroes avenging those they failed to save. The Dark Knight is about a man trying to save people as well as being the villain through others eyes. So, he realizes that he must be the hero they don’t deserve but need. Which movie has a better idea and meaning to it.

I prefer DC. Here are my reasons: DC has better stories. DC characters are more interesting and less blended-together than ones from Marvel. DC is more crossover-friendly. DC is less over-the-top in presentation. Meaning the don't feel the need to put an adjective like "Fantastic" or "Spectacular" or "Uncanny" in front of their brands. Deathstroke > Deadpool. Sorry, but someone had to say it.

If I could be honest, I’d say DC not only has better villains, but better heroes as well. Not saying Marvel heroes suck in the slightest, but when people say “they’re humans and DCs are gods” I just die of full-blown cringe hearing it. People seem to forget that Dr. Strange, Drax (classic age), Silver Surfer, Wolverine, Odin, Ghost Rider, Cable, Jean Grey, and other people exist. And it’s not just power-wise, Marvel can’t and shouldn’t just be humans. You’ve got Gamora, Rocket & Groot, Thor, Beta Ray Bill, Galactus, Thanos, etc. People seem to forget that Marvel villains have a lot more alien then heroes, which imo needs more balance (*cough Thanos). And this perspective is from someone who wants a personality that is fit for them, and not completely ruined by writers, so I won’t talk about “realism” or “realistic”. What I’m saying is, is this DC does a better job at keeping a character in its core personality (except for Starfire who became a slut, Batman, who’s sanity is questionable). Look at the Flash. He stands out because he’s always been the good noodle. He’s never had a dark side willingly, and even when he became the God of Death, he chose to do good and only good. And in Injustice, he was the one person who realized that the Regime is wrong. No one else except Barry. Then you go to Marvels side. Take Cyclops for example. They slaughtered his character. He went from gentleman, leader, fighter, and core X Men member, to psychotic mutant spokesman, backstabbing cheater, douchebag, and murder. And it’s because of that, he’s Marvels most hated character. Or another example like She Hulk. She killed it in the classic age, showing that unlike Bruce Banner, she actually takes pride in her Hulk form. But then retcon after retcon, she became a complete slut part of the time, which made it even more unbearable to read. Or take Quicksilver? They turned the quippy traitor of Magneto to the creep obsessed with his sister. DC has still kept its word with its characters. Red Hood is still gun toting Batman who wants crime gone, Raven is still a character who wants to see the good in her friends with her empathy, Aquaman is still the humble king of Atlantis, etc. The big changes are in powers, since most reboots can either upgrade or water down a character.
The complaint about DC heroes and their power is that Batman who Superman could ram into the sun in seconds, still comea put on top. Batman has become a plpt device for the final battle and its repetitive.

I like both Marvel and DC, not because of popularity of how much money they make or ever if there material. Whether it appeals to a large group or a small demographic. I prefer the animation of both to anything else they put out. Mostly because Batman the animated series and X-men the animated series of the 1990s helped me feel empowered in a tough time in my life. Batman being the better of the two at doing it than X-man. It just pisses me off when people use popular opinion as the reason I am wrong, mostly because it a person attack against my preferences and because it is the most assinnigne we of judging something. All it means is people don’t share you taste, not whether it good or not. It’s fine if you like Marvel better than DC or if I like DC better. I base my preference on how they make me feel not on how many people go see their movie and how much money they. They all have their pluses and minuses. Most of the time Marvel have felt bland and don’t get me on an emotional level like X-men did in the 90s. Thank show made you think. DC animation and live action movies get me in the heart and the gut and and never feel a generic repeat of I have already seen and there is always something to contemplate in their material. That being said Guardians of the galaxy Vol. 2 and Ragnarrock are awesome movies. Just thought I would put that out their and isn’t hard for me to completely hate anything they both put out but except Civil War. Stop making superheroes apologize for being super! Like Batman v Superman implies that they are what they are and have the responsibility to use their power to help even if it isn’t perfect in its use and they like Hancock should try to do better but not be prevented from doing it because of a chance they might fail. Good argument, seeing how it uses none of the DC characters. It's incidental that it was published by them since it has no connection to their characters or universe. And any Watchmen stories outside of the original all suck anyways. And yes, Earth X is. Watchmen is actually a rather dated story and doesn't go quite far enough.
Scott Summers ShadowSonic2 Ok firstly the defenders want bad it started good and had a lot of potential but it got bad after a while secondly D.C.'s Watchmen was a great movie but one of the only good D.C. movies Batman was good but there are just so many with different actors which is just annoying. Marvel is winning with movies but their shoes suck they made too many based off their X-Men mutants which is why D.C. is ahead because things like The Flash, The Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Young Justice etc. That are good quality and good because the people making them know the stories from the comics D.C. is also REALLY good at their comics and explaining their universe because they have a map drawn out for it which show the multiverse (which allows them to make multiple comic stories) Marvel has their own version of the multiverse theory but they only use it sometimes like with Deadpool, Hulk, Spider-Man etc. But D.C. also has better characters that break the 4th wall better like joker who does things like talk to the reader, flip his own comic book pages, and in comics where he goes "back to normal" there are reasons because be thinks he isn't in a comic book anymore etc. All in all D.C. is better with comics and games (even though there is a dope Spider-Man game coming put soon) and show that just let's Marvel win at movies and D.C. win at the other stuff

I always loved DC more than Marvel it's simply more enjoyable in my opinion, that's not to say Marvel is tremendously lackluster, Marvel just doesn't have the the amount of well written stories DC has. I'm a stickler for details and a compelling and complex story and DC rings these points home far, far more often than Marvel.

In a nutshell Marvel is about monsters and people learning to live with them. DC is about Gods amongst men... Both different. Both good. Neither is better/worse imo.
I feel like half of the Marvel fans that'll be triggered by this video don't even read comics. The only thing Marvel related they know is the MCU, which is good, believe me. The MCU is one of things that made me want to start reading comics. But you can't judge Marvel as an entirety just by looking at the MCU. You have to look up Marvel's other main departments, more specifically comics, games, TV, ect.

A bunch of people are saying that DC actually had seriousness and not comedy. Thats one reason why Marvel can be more entertaining I heard someone saying that DC is more spread out, as in location. In Infinity War, we had New York, Wakanda, Titan, Knowhere, Vormir, and the place Etitri lives. Those are all different plants (expect for Wakanda and New York). What about character backstories? Ironman was kiddnapped, has PTSD, almost one time had an anxiety attack, but hes still going on strong. Capatin America. All of his loved ones are dead, cause he wanted to save a bunch of people. Bucky Barnes was tortured, brainwashed, and forced to kill people for 70 years. He didn’t want to, but he had no choice. Black widow. The same thing happened to her. Black Panther. He couldn’t save his father, his father died, he killed his cousin to save Wakanda, he learned his father murdered his Uncle, and failed to save his country. gimme 5 intresting backstories to DC characters.

Hey buddy, haters are always gonna hate. As a Marvel fan myself, I hate to see people making fun of others who love DC. Most of these people are just following the trend and they don't seem to realize that Batman and Superman were and still are more popular than Iron Man and Captain America and others. Before the beginning of MCU, Spider-Man was the only Marvel superhero who was as popular as Batman and Superman. And if I'm not mistaken, then I guess Wonder Woman of DC is the most popular female superhero of all time.

A character development that really gets to the core of each character and makes sense. You just find a connection with the characters and it's what the narrator said, it's all in the writing that hooks its readers.
Their heroes are ultimately way more iconic. They feel larger than life. Marvel’s heroes have a similar feeling, of course, but they feel less defined or unified, perhaps.

Seeing Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, & Spider-Man on the big screen gives me chills, especially because I've been a fan of them since I was a kid. I can totally relate to that feeling, and I can see how DC heroes could invoke those feelings in DC fans. I hope the movie studios get it together so we can get an excellent DCEU.

Take away the MCU and Marvel loses a LOT. Take away the DCU and DC loses nothing. I was an active Marvel Comics reader 7 years ago. The only Marvel characters i like, are Spiderman, Hulk and Wolverine. The classic argument that Marvel characters are more humanized and relatable is used only by the people that don't read comics. I have never read a Marvel story that had such a deep psychological and moral discussion about a character's beliefs like Batman Ego, a story that caused a moral discussion about violence, drugs, racism like Green Arrow and Green Lantern Hard Traveling Heroes did, a story that showed the decline of society's morals and the heroes reaction to it, like Kingdom Come. Marvel comics are mostly artificial and uncompeling stories, they never had a comic's Marterpiece like DC. Sandman, The Dark Knight Returns, Kingdom Come, Swamp Thing, Watchmen, A New Frontier, Hard Traveling Heroes, V for Vendetta. I am only listing the stories that changed the Comics Industry forever. I am putting aside the dozens of acclaimed classics. Marvel has great heroes, but average stories. I am not hating on Marvel, aside from my personal taste about the characters, i am just speaking facts.

I really like animation, and I met with the superheroes through animated series. Teen Titans (I grew up with them), Justice League, Batman: The animated series, Batman Beyond...I can't count all of them. After the watching, I started to read comics about the characters, and now I have lot of favs, Batman, Raven, the Martian Manhunter, Vixen, Booster Gold, Wally West/Flash... I'm a 19 years old girl, and before this, I thought superheroes are ridiculous. Now I'm a fan...because of DC.

MattsoRaven 1 I'll name you a few stories darker, nay, much darker than the ones you mentioned. Alias, Kraven's Last Hunt, Reign, The Death of Captain Marvel and Born Again just to name a few. Also, Watchmen were bought by DC, DC doesn't get credit for it. It was Alan Moore's baby and he has been vocal about his discontent with mixing them with the DC universe by means of Doomsday Clock. Also, Death of the Family wasn't that dark tbh. You could've mentioned killing joke as a far better example. Anyway, my point is Marvel's storytelling has always been more grounded and in turn darker that DC overall. In recent years, neither of them are really going the dark route though.

It's important to know whether you are talking about comics or movies.... Comics DC is better....movies Marvel has had the upper hand since Spiderman. But we can't ignore the 80's Superman movies...the 90's and 00's Batman/Dark Knight series and to a lesser extent Wonder Woman had some very well done installments.
After Endgame, I thought I was done with superhero stories in general. However, this summer I’m watching the DCAU for the first time, and it’s reminded me of when I was 9 and crazy for Superman. I thought I had superhero fatigue, but I think I just liked DC better than Marvel from the beginning. I just didn’t realize it with all the MCU films coming out year after year.

The dceu have good stories too but very poor execution and 8 ive known many dc heroes and villains since i was little becuz of their popularity as a casual fan then. DC is more crossover-friendly.
DC is less over-the-top in presentation. Meaning the don't feel the need to put an adjective like "Fantastic" or "Spectacular" or "Uncanny" in front of their brands.

If I could be honest, I’d say DC not only has better villains, but better heroes as well. Not saying Marvel heroes suck in the slightest, but when people say “they’re humans and DCs are gods” I just die of full-blown cringe hearing it. People seem to forget that Dr. Strange, Drax (classic age), Silver Surfer, Wolverine, Odin, Ghost Rider, Cable, Jean Grey, and other people exist. And it’s not just power-wise, Marvel can’t and shouldn’t just be humans. You’ve got Gamora, Rocket & Groot, Thor, Beta Ray Bill, Galactus, Thanos, etc. People seem to forget that Marvel villains have a lot more alien then heroes, which imo needs more balance (*cough Thanos). And this perspective is from someone who wants a personality that is fit for them, and not completely ruined by writers, so I won’t talk about “realism” or “realistic”.
What I’m saying is, is this DC does a better job at keeping a character in its core personality (except for Starfire who became a slut, Batman, who’s sanity is questionable). Look at the Flash. He stands out because he’s always been the good noodle. He’s never had a dark side willingly, and even when he became the God of Death, he chose to do good and only good. And in Injustice, he was the one person who realized that the Regime is wrong. No one else except Barry.
Then you go to Marvels side. Take Cyclops for example. They slaughtered his character. He went from gentleman, leader, fighter, and core X Men member, to psychotic mutant spokesman, backstabbing cheater, douchebag, and murder. And it’s because of that, he’s Marvels most hated character. Or another example like She Hulk. She killed it in the classic age, showing that unlike Bruce Banner, she actually takes pride in her Hulk form. But then retcon after retcon, she became a complete slut part of the time, which made it even more unbearable to read. Or take Quicksilver? They turned the quippy traitor of Magneto to the creep obsessed with his sister. DC has still kept its word with its characters. Red Hood is still gun toting Batman who wants crime gone, Raven is still a character who wants to see the good in her friends with her empathy, Aquaman is still the humble king of Atlantis, etc. The big changes are in powers, since most reboots can either upgrade or water down a character.

I like both Marvel and DC, not because of popularity of how much money they make or ever if there material. Whether it appeals to a large group or a small demographic. I prefer the animation of both to anything else they put out. Mostly because Batman the animated series and X-men the animated series of the 1990s helped me feel empowered in a tough time in my life. Batman being the better of the two at doing it than X-man. It just pisses me off when people use popular opinion as the reason I am wrong, mostly because it a person attack against my preferences and because it is the most assinnigne we of judging something. All it means is people don’t share you taste, not whether it good or not. It’s fine if you like Marvel better than DC or if I like DC better. I base my preference on how they make me feel not on how many people go see their movie and how much money they. They all have their pluses and minuses. Most of the time Marvel have felt bland and don’t get me on an emotional level like X-men did in the 90s. Thank show made you think. DC animation and live action movies get me in the heart and the gut and and never feel a generic repeat of I have already seen and there is always something to contemplate in their material. That being said Guardians of the galaxy Vol. 2 and Ragnarrock are awesome movies. Just thought I would put that out their and isn’t hard for me to completely hate anything they both put out but except Civil War. Stop making superheroes apologize for being super! Like Batman v Superman implies that they are what they are and have the responsibility to use their power to help even if it isn’t perfect in its use and they like Hancock should try to do better but not be prevented from doing it because of a chance they might fail. Good attitude to have towards anyone super or not.

Ok firstly the defenders want bad it started good and had a lot of potential but it got bad after a while secondly D.C.'s Watchmen was a great movie but one of the only good D.C. movies Batman was good but there are just so many with different actors which is just annoying. Marvel is winning with movies but their shoes suck they made too many based off their X-Men mutants which is why D.C. is ahead because things like The Flash, The Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Young Justice etc. That are good quality and good because the people making them know the stories from the comics D.C. is also REALLY good at their comics and explaining their universe because they have a map drawn out for it which show the multiverse (which allows them to make multiple comic stories) Marvel has their own version of the multiverse theory but they only use it sometimes like with Deadpool, Hulk, Spider-Man etc. But D.C. also has better characters that break the 4th wall better like joker who does things like talk to the reader, flip his own comic book pages, and in comics where he goes "back to normal" there are reasons because be thinks he isn't in a comic book anymore etc. All in all D.C. is better with comics and games (even though there is a dope Spider-Man game coming put soon) and show that just let's Marvel win at movies and D.C. win at the other stuff

I think it not that we dislike the movies, though there not my favorite, more than that I think it’s because it’s because we want to talk about more than just the movies, like the amazing games and comics, but it seems that all your arguments have to do with to do with the overhyped movies.
I always loved DC more than Marvel it's simply more enjoyable in my opinion, that's not to say Marvel is tremendously lackluster, Marvel just doesn't have the the amount of well written stories DC has. I'm a stickler for details and a compelling and complex story and DC rings these points home far, far more often than Marvel.

I just find DC characters and stories more interesting. I'm not really sure why. I mean I do read DC comics and I enjoy reading about these heroes. I started reading in 7th grade and never read a Marvel comic, not until a couple years ago. I was just more drawn to DC as a kid. I watched JL and Batman animated and DC has sparked my interest since then. I love the Batman trilogy. I love all DC characters. I'm a huge DC fangirl... fight me

I feel like half of the Marvel fans that'll be triggered by this video don't even read comics. The only thing Marvel related they know is the MCU, which is good, believe me. The MCU is one of things that made me want to start reading comics. But you can't judge Marvel as an entirety just by looking at the MCU. You have to look up Marvel's other main departments, more specifically comics, games, TV, ect.

I heard someone saying that DC is more spread out, as in location. In Infinity War, we had New York, Wakanda, Titan, Knowhere, Vormir, and the place Etitri lives. Those are all different plants (expect for Wakanda and New York).
What about character backstories?
Ironman was kiddnapped, has PTSD, almost one time had an anxiety attack, but hes still going on strong.
Capatin America. All of his loved ones are dead, cause he wanted to save a bunch of people.
Bucky Barnes was tortured, brainwashed, and forced to kill people for 70 years. He didn’t want to, but he had no choice.
Black widow. The same thing happened to her.
Black Panther. He couldn’t save his father, his father died, he killed his cousin to save Wakanda, he learned his father murdered his Uncle, and failed to save his country.

Most of these people are just following the trend and they don't seem to realize that Batman and Superman were and still are more popular than Iron Man and Captain America and others. Before the beginning of MCU, Spider-Man was the only Marvel superhero who was as popular as Batman and Superman. And if I'm not mistaken, then I guess Wonder Woman of DC is the most popular female superhero of all time.

A character development that really gets to the core of each character and makes sense. You just find a connection with the characters and it's what the narrator said, it's all in the writing that hooks its readers.

Their heroes are ultimately way more iconic. They feel larger than life. Marvel’s heroes have a similar feeling, of course, but they feel less defined or unified, perhaps.

That's a wonderful sentiment. Marvel does the same for me. Seeing Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, & Spider-Man on the big screen gives me chills, especially because I've been a fan of them since I was a kid. I can totally relate to that feeling, and I can see how DC heroes could invoke those feelings in DC fans. I hope the movie studios get it together so we can get an excellent DCEU.

I was an active Marvel Comics reader 7 years ago.
The only Marvel characters i like, are Spiderman, Hulk and Wolverine.
The classic argument that Marvel characters are more humanized and relatable is used only by the people that don't read comics.
I have never read a Marvel story that had such a deep psychological and moral discussion about a character's beliefs like Batman Ego, a story that caused a moral discussion about violence, drugs, racism like Green Arrow and Green Lantern Hard Traveling Heroes did, a story that showed the decline of society's morals and the heroes reaction to it, like Kingdom Come.
Marvel comics are mostly artificial and uncompeling stories, they never had a comic's Marterpiece like DC.
Sandman, The Dark Knight Returns, Kingdom Come, Swamp Thing, Watchmen, A New Frontier, Hard Traveling Heroes, V for Vendetta.
I am only listing the stories that changed the Comics Industry forever.
I am putting aside the dozens of acclaimed classics.
Marvel has great heroes, but average stories.
I am not hating on Marvel, aside from my personal taste about the characters, i am just speaking facts.
Imo Batman is the saviour of DC. He is an interesting character you can relate to, he has amazing villains, awesome teammates and so much more.Everything is cool in Gotham. Darn it even the police department looks cool with comissioner Gordon.

I really like animation, and I met with the superheroes through animated series. Teen Titans (I grew up with them), Justice League, Batman: The animated series, Batman Beyond...I can't count all of them. After the watching, I started to read comics about the characters, and now I have lot of favs, Batman, Raven, the Martian Manhunter, Vixen, Booster Gold, Wally West/Flash...
I'm a 19 years old girl, and before this, I thought superheroes are ridiculous. Now I'm a fan...because of DC.

Also, Watchmen were bought by DC, DC doesn't get credit for it. It was Alan Moore's baby and he has been vocal about his discontent with mixing them with the DC universe by means of Doomsday Clock. Also, Death of the Family wasn't that dark tbh. You could've mentioned killing joke as a far better example.
Anyway, my point is Marvel's storytelling has always been more grounded and in turn darker that DC overall. In recent years, neither of them are really going the dark route though.
