Agreed. In crossovers, she was one of the strongest characters and actresses. She portrays supergirl very well. Optimistic but also troubled, as she is still younger than her cousin, but also very smart and can even manage to out think the man of steel himself! I love her as a character but her show is just so flawed. Melissa and the character deserve better
@@moonlightrider24 Actually, one of the reasons why I stopped liking Supergirl is because the show degraded Superman. Supergirl even beats him in a fight. In fact the show degraded most straight, white male characters over its 6 years run. I hated the wokeism. The show stopped doing the things I did enjoy such as the close relationship between the Danvers sisters.
@@alexanderk7353 I'm pretty sure they are putting Supergirl in a movie soon, but it's not going to be Melissa playing her unfortunately, it's some Latino woman, because of course it is. They have to cast the 'woke' choice if they want to get the praise....
ever since the cw started making a complete dive in quality, my brother and i started watching the shows with the intention of rating it on a cringe scale, and today we finally got to the supergirl finale, and oh boy, did it not disappoint.
s1-s2 and most of season 3 were the show's glory days, after that, it went downhill. They stopped focusing on kara and sidelined Melissa in her own show, especially in season 5 when it was literally all about Lena
Kara balancing her identity between Kara Danvers and Supergirl has been a recurring issue, but despite that, revealing her identity might actually be ths stupidest idea possible. It's safe to assume Esme will be getting kidnapped 10 times a month...
What's dumb though is it WASN'T Kara Danvers vs Supergirl, bc sg isn't a person she's just a disguise. The conflict was about Kara Danvers vs Kara ZOR-EL. But they just ignored her actual identity dilemma and chose the dumbest laziest ending and gaslighted us that her secret identity was the problem the whole time, instead of what they actually established.
It's like they totally forgot about that one episode It's a Super Life where in one of their little realty simulations Kara's identity is exposed globally and all her friends and family were killed by Ben Lockwood.
Also her weakness to kryptonite is well known and it wouldn't be a surprise if a assassin is hidden somewhere with a rifle pointed out at her or a local coffee shop employee who has a grudge against her slips kryptonite poison in her daily morning coffee.
Unpopular opinion, but I rewatched season 1-2 of supergirl and they’re not as bad as I remember or people say it to be. Of course it suffers from cringe and poor quality in some episodes but in others it’s good to see Kara actually be the main focus of her show for once.
@Mostaverse eh for me it’s *kind of * like flash s3, where people hated it at first, but now that I rewatched it it’s actually half decent. It’s a show about Kara where Supergirl is the hero, not Sentinel, Guardian, Guardian 2.0, Dreamer, Lena, Andrea, etc. I liked quite a lot of episodes, mainly where Barry showed up, solitude, the krypton one, j’onns episode, red kryptonite one, human for a day, and where Kara learned how her mother used her to trick Astra. If you look at IMDb, Supergirl S1 is surprisingly the highest rated season of the series cuz it doesn’t necessarily have a “terrible, horrible episode”. I’ll admit tho that Non, Astra, and Rhea were actually horrible villains, some of the absolute worst in the arrowverse, but aside from that it’s not too bad
I can't be the only one who absolutely despises Alex's superhero suit, AND the fact that she's a superhero. Why is the CW making practically the entire cast superheros, shit we might aswell have Cat Grant roll up in a star spangled unitard. Belive me, Alex Danvers was more badass as a DEO agent. Swooping down from a helicopter, with her Assault rifle slinged around her chest, than this. Her suit is god AWFUL! Her superhero suit retracted and discontinued my negative opinion about Alex's Supergirl suit, or Barry's Season 4 suit. The thick eyeliner and the hood makes her look like a 9th grade emo kid. Her thick black eyeliner and her hood over her face, and her short hair makes her look like she's that weird emo kid who you see walking down the hall always with their hood on, listening to "Cut my life into Peices" and always ranting about how life is meaningless. I'm more than happy that this SHOW is ending.
@pnorbert2222 Yeah. It's Iike what the guy said in the video. They're trying to hard to send a message, rather than to make a good story. They're focusing so much on the characters menial problems that the story is like dragging a cinderblock through mud in a 10 dollar RC car. They make Supergirl more like a Romantical-drama, rather than an action superhero show. Superman and Lois does both of those things seamlessly. I'm actually really proud of the show, it brings credibility to the CW network.
I remember Young Justice had it to where Red Tornado was put on the Justice Society of America as a plant by his father/creator where he would eventually betray and destroy them but he rebelled against him.

That's for sure, I mean if they wanted to present a strong independent woman, SG was it. No team ups ( barely), political agendas, giving her reasonable bad villains from the comics... and a better disguise.
@@Mirrorcomics24 Legally speaking, Kara Danvers and Clark Kent aren’t related so people would only assume the Kents are just friends of Kara probably due to being in the same journalism profession.
Remember how Smallville ended? It ended with Clark getting the suit. A lot of people were kinda pissed that we didn't get to see it but I had a different opinion. We weren't meant to see it cuz the show is called Smallville. As soon as clark got his iconic suit hes no longer Clark but superman. I thought that was some clever writing and overall it was a finale. It wrapped up so many plot threads and in the end, the final threat was worthy of having superman come in and save the day. It treated the story and characters with respect and it was their final hurrah and I almost cried seeing it end Supergirl on the other hand is like that grape on the vine that never got to be a grape lol seriously I stopped watching around season 2 and I knew it became cringier but man was that some high grade cringe Also that creature that made that "dont touch me without consent" line was Alex? Why does she look like a methhead that found a nice leather jacket? Holy crap they did her dirty
I was re watching Smallville and I think one of the things that makes it my favorite CW show(despite it having its own flaws) is that there's an arc that Clark has over the series,it may be very dragged out but an arc, of him becoming Superman and all the trials that lead him to that moment. The problem I notice with a lot of the current shows is there's no real arc the lead is going through at best Oliver had to become less aggressive and alone in his way but even with that felt like it came in out of the series. But looking at Barry and Kara there's no real arc they really have to go through.
@@mikemorro140 it's part of the reason why the first 5 seasons of supernatural were the best. There was the multi seasonal arc of Sam and Dean preparing to fight Lucifer in the apocalypse. All of their adventures had a purpose, even if it looks minuscule. It leads to that final battle and the pay off is absolutely worth it. The seasons after that they were kinda winging it cuz they weren't expecting more seasons. That's why they were reduce to just seasonal threats and the show kinda ran out of steam Smallville was similar but a longer arc. Each trail, no matter how small, paved way for Clark to become Superman. And yes I am including the episode where he got possessed by a drama queen who wanted the prom queen crown lmao I love Smallville so much
The reason it was infuriating we didn’t see him wearing the suit was because the show had already had mukltille seasons where he was doing the Superman thing. The “red blue blue” bit was so cringe
A few episodes before this, there was a whole episode about how supergirl didn’t save enough people of color, and even Alex’s girlfriend turned on Alex and basically the whole team because apparently they don’t do enough for that community. Even though they spent season after season saving the whole world lol. The show even had Alex buy a copy of that trash book, white fragility and had it on her coffee table at the end of the episode. Lol.
@@Grand_Kitchen well you should check that episode out and see for yourself lol. I was actually physically rolling my eyes repeatedly and almost quit watching the episode. Still haven’t watched the last 2 episodes.
So let’s be real. Superman and Lois was pretty great. Can’t wait to see them get ruined. The only thing that helped Supergirl was Melissa Benoist and she deserved a comic accurate Kara Zor El
I doubt it. Superman & lois has very short seasons, meaning they skip over a lot of filler and the writers don't have to write as much. Also, hbo max is involved, so if the cw is about to go to far and make a dumb decision, they'll stop them.
The first episode itself had my eyes rolling with the stupid line: "On my planet, females bow before males". It's one thing to create a strong female superhero, but to try this hard with all the obnoxious virtue signalling, just makes the show a total cringefest. If you feel the need to keep stressing "girl power", you're not doing a good job. The writers should've learned a thing or two from Wonder Woman
Supergirl in the early comics almost NEVER talked like that (feminazi trash). She loved the men in her life, realized she was young and needed guidance until she mastered her powers (which Superman helped her with), and was willing to admit when she screwed up. This show is NOT the traditional character I've read.
This was really the last Arrowverse show I planned on seeing all the way through. I’ll still watch Superman and Lois, but that’s about it for the new shit. Shame to see that aside from Arrow, it all ends not with a bang, but a whimper
Stargirl is a great show with apparently insanely talented people behind it. Cause the writing, the pacing and especially the effects are so much better than everywhere else in the Arrowverse (apart from SaL) with a budget I don't believe is that significantly higher. You should give it a try if you hadn't yet.
I think you hit the nail on the head. The Supergirl show is more focused on saying its message then telling a Supergirl story. Thats the sad truth for the audience that cares about her inclusion in the universe, but i guess i can accept it for the little kids out there learning morals from this show.
It's a political message shoved in everybody's throat which is cringe and stupid. All SG tv show needed to be was an origins story while meeting other people and heroes.
It's not even that I disagree with the messages Supergirl is saying. But it comes across as so condescending and inauthentic that it just pisses me off.
One of the many problems is that the writers wanted to be political (mainly after season1), instead of telling a good story, this is happening with all Cw's shows.
That's not a good thing. I been saying that if they do that then a recasting is in order. Cryer's Lex doesn't fit the tone of Superman and Lois. They could do it. And hopefully with an explanation as to why he looks different. I've spoken against recasting but if you can make it make sense with an in story explanation then it can work i think. It might be necessary for this case.
@@MrWolfchamp-xi3cu I mean, Kal-El was a joke in Supergirl and now he basically defeated his half-brother and saved the world. They could make Jon Cryer's Luthor into an actual threat too
2:49 That picture reminds me that there's a crazy section of Supergirl fans who thought Kara Danvers and Lena Luthor, 2 straight women would become a lesbian couple. Yet more proof that shippers don't care about story, characters, acting, writing or any of the actual important things about a show. Only about people's romantic relationships and sexualities.
If you think the "Don't touch me without consent" was cringy there is an episode on this season where Jimmy Olsen's sister (the new guardian) spends the whole episode bitching and complaining that Super Heroes don't care about black people. SUPER CRINGY!
Sounds like Batwoman's Ryan Wilder who thinks any criticism the other characters give her or them questioning her in any way is racism, was rightly arrested for drug possession because both her and her girlfriend were drug dealers but says racist Gotham cops planted them on her and set her up when they didn't, thought Jacob Kane not wanting to shoot Alice since she's his daughter was him not shooting her because she's white, one of the cop characters was turned into a comically evil racist then a Bane ripoff just because he told Ryan to turn loud music down. She goes on as if there's a giant racist conspiracy against her when there isn't. Even Luke, a black man is called racist for not submitting to Ryan Sue.
@@thomasraines1396 Yeah if you thought the CW version of Kate Kane was bad Ryan's even worse. It shocks me that Batwoman has 3 seasons. It should have been quickly cancelled after how bad Season 1's trailer was.
@@thomasraines1396 Another stupid thing Ryan does is in a flashback to when she was younger. She got kidnapped by a madwoman who tried to force her to join a gang. @@disneyerapowerrangers2923 even though it's cringey family storyline atleast we got to see some speedforce stuff which is good since the storyrunner even came out saying he doesn't feel like making Barry Allen stories anymore.
I thought the finale was conclusive but it was also an "and the adventure continues" setup. Not every show has to end with the protagonist dying. (It was certainly more of a series finale than Black Lightning, which felt far more like a standard season finale.) They get to end their current stories on the show, and then they just get to live. The only storyline that didn't seem to have gotten to a good conclusive point was Andrea Rojas' storyline, which felt more like it got to a turning point, then skipped to the very end (and this is after her development was rolled back between the season premiere and the mid-season premiere). Nyxly was very powerful when she got to Earth. But then the Super Friends developed a device to keep her from using her powers, which Mxyzptlk put on her (and she was introduced with a dampener placed on her by her father), so her only source of power was the crystal ball that she trapped Mxy in, the totems, and the Lexosuit armor that Lex gave her. In her first villainous appearances, she was completely overpowered, and the dampener (which stayed on for the rest of the show) was the only thing keeping her threat level manageable. This was a lackluster final season, quite frankly. The first half of the season was just awful, especially with the drawn-out Phantoms arc. And the mid-season finale was quite possibly the worst episode in the entire show, right up there with the gun control episode.
2021 Arrowverse season big bads ranked 1. Eclipso (another great dark villain in the Arrowverse with a cool design as his rivalry with the JSA shines by playing on their deepest and darkest fears) 2. Tal-Rho (while i have mixed feelings about Tal-Rho being Superman's half-brother, i definitely do think he was a very well written character as he was essentially the Arrowverse adaptation of the Eradicator) 3. Black Mask (cool mask design as well as the actor giving a pretty good and menacing performance) 4. Lex Luthor (although him being a love interest to Nyxly was a weird direction to go for this character, Jon Cryer still shines as the iconic Lex Luthor who has pretty much made a good rivalry with the Superfriends, especially his half-sister Lena) 5. Tobias Whale (as the final big bad of Black Lightning, i say that this was Tobias' very best season as the main villain as he really almost made Jefferson lose everything) 6. Nyxlygsptlnz (as one of the final main villains of Supergirl, Nyxly was a rather interesting and enjoyable character to see onscreen) 7. Godspeed (while he does have a very comic accurate costume, August Heart's character and storyline should have been developed more) 8. Speed Force (while the storyline with the Forces sucked, i do think that Michelle Harrison gives at least a decent performance as a villain) 9. Safiyah Sohail (an interesting connection to Alice, but i think Safiyah lacked development as she pretty much disappeared after 2x08 and return again very late near the finale of the season) 10. Bishop (clearly THE worst villain ever in the Arrowverse as he is so annoying and unbelievable that he was responsible for the events of Legends S6)
@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259 yes. There's still some flaws about his character, but this potrayal of Black Mask is more better than what Ewan McGregor did in Birds of Prey
Lol, I swear this the funniest video you've made personally. I love how your recent videos show a lot more of your personality. And its honestly good to see some people actually realize how much of shit the CW has become. Do you think for your next video, you can chat about Spider-Man No Way Home?
its because they have to write for so many episodes. An average cw show season will have 22-20 episodes, and each episode is 40-50 minutes long. And the writers have to write tons of scripts for them, and sometimes have to do that for multiple shows. So they pad the seasons out with filler and soap opera stuff, and the overall quality dissipates as a result. A solution to this is very simple. Make the season shorter. Make the average season 13-9 episodes, and skip over all the soap opera and filler so the writers can flesh out the story and make a good plot. Hell, make the season 6 episodes like the marvels shows are doing. That would increase the budget and quality of every episode without taking up nearly as much time.
Another thing about Supergirl that was bizarre, was the fact that a Blue Star kills all males, as if the energy of a young Star discrimates against men, I wouldn't be suprised if the blue sun killing men was an innuendo for killing the Patriarchy. Every male character in Supergirl was made weak and basically beta males. Which is sad as MMH is a beast power wise, he deserved better.
Yeah and in the comics a blue star powers up a Kryptonian way more than a yellow star but the series showed that she doesn't have power under blue star. It pissed me off too
@@GameZone-ib7eu I'm so glad they haven't nerfed Superman in Superman and Lois, they seem to have him at a very high level of power, not comic book levels, but not nerfed like they had Supergirl, I mean she needed a spacesuit in space and needed it to develop thrust also, she couldn't survive under water also and could suffocate, she was very low leveled. And in one of the last episodes of the final season, she was flinching when a guy shot her with a normal handgun also, low grade firearms should not have budged her at all.
@Ghost Arcade that maybe true, but the whole Supergirl premises carries heavily an SJW PC narritive and its pretty obvious to me that the male characters in that show are essentially beta males. Even in the Flash, the Flash is nothing, Iris is essentially the Flash without having being him. Superman and Lois is different they both compliment each other and not one sided like it has been in all of Supergirls seasons. The last episode of Supergirl was the height of cringe when Alex was shooting at a Dominator "don't touch me without consent", there should be a balance with male and female characters and I didn't see that in Supergirl.
I quit when Supergirl's sister lost her memory. Such a contrived plot point and their friendship was one of the best parts of the show, so I checked out.
She did not lose her memory, J'onn (Martian Manhunter) simply removed her knowledge of Kara being Supergirl from her mind, that's it. Losing your memory means forgetting everything about yourself as a person, including your own name
I haven't watched a single full episode of Supergirl(exculding the Crisis episode) since the episode where The Monitor took Lex's dead body. I decided to watch the series finale & tell me why when the world was losing hope and whatever else it reminded me of that powerpuff girls episode where the clown was draining the colour from the world 😂😂
The fact that Lex is banished to the Phantom Zone by anyone other than Superman is a war crime. Also, her revealing her identity screws over Clark, who hadn’t chosen that and is famously her cousin. Boo and a half.
How did you manage to sit through any of these shows from the CW they make nothing but pure trash soap opera level story telling and school play level acting.
I had to force myself these last few seasons. I was already invested into it. So I really wanted to see how it end at least. But it was killing me! Glad it's over
between the talk no jutsu of the main character and the terrible pandering dialogue... one couldnt believe that Superfeminist could fall any further but it has, even nixing more Superman villains like Metallo, Lex, Parasite and having a Fem Mixy. It makes me wonder if theres anything original about this character or her history. I feel sad being a fan of the character in the comics and animation but the live action leaves such a dark blot on the legacy.
The word cringe is getting old and annoying now. But you are right about supergirl. After episode 12 I couldn't stomach it anymore. The blm episode was totally unnecessary and one of the worst ones yet. And this coming from a black guy. Alan Harper did okay as lex Luthor but not as great as Michael rosebaum. Thank goodness he wasn't cast in supergirl. And the line "no touching without consent " was either written by a feminist or a male feminist the CW is full of them. Either way it ruined Alex's character further. Supergirl started off decent but devolved into the wokeness abyss, more focused on "the message " rather than storytelling. I hope I never see any of these characters on Superman and lois
Supergirl finale is so fucked up. The only good scene is when Cat Grant comfort Kara to become herself and Cat Introduced her in the end. The rest is dumb garbage..
Last season should of ended with Kara revealing she’s supergirl and then have 10 episodes in the final season trying to deal with the consequences and in the series finale she wins everyone over
Why does everyone have powers? Why did Alex turning lesbian out of nowhere turn into a whole arc? Why did they ruin braniac 5 by making him not that smart and turning him gay? Regardless of how good some the show has been, Supergirl the series deserved all the hate it got for favoring sending a half-assed message over good story-telling.

Except Lex Luthers watch apparently. Oh and then everyone elses power once the bridge collapses. 3- Lex was rejected a lot at first and sacrificed victory for love a couple times, until the end where he just flips and starts firing lasers at his love. 4- If the stone was siphoning off the people, then surely making them dig deep and bring out their inner strengh would provide more fuel for the stone not cut it off? 5- Nyxly had a power blocking bracelet on for a while and couldn't use her magic, then suddenly in the final showdown you can see her still wearing it and she just summons creatures with a finger snap? 6- I'm not even going to mention the phantoms, so out of character, so bad. 7- A big through line is Brainy having to return to the future after things are wraped up.... but why? if he is going to the future he could leave in 200 years time and arrive at the same second he would if he left earlier. 12th level intellect indeed.

Lillian Luthor (fine villain with an interesting rivalry with Supergirl as well as her familial connection with her two children) 6. Rhea (while Rhea isn't that good of a villain, she was at least kinda better than Selena and/or Kara's aunt and uncle) 7. Selena (not the most memorable character, but at least she was responsible for creating arguably one of the better villains of the show in Reign) 8. Astra (she along with her husband were not that compelling as villains, but at least Astra was a little more interesting than Non) 9. Non (not that good of a villain, even his death was kinda underwhelming) 10. Gamemnae (while it is an interesting take on the character being the Goddess of Technology, throughout her season she wasn't given any screentime at all and the motivations of her and Leviathan were just never been clear)
@pnorbert2222 there's still talks about Lex Luthor returning on Superman & Lois in the future of the Arrowverse, and Jon Cryer said that he is all in for it when the opportunity comes. There's still hope for Clark and Lex to finally interact with each other in the Arrowverse
I believe that if done right, using the original Supergirl backstory would have made for a good basis for a multi series of Supergirl. Showing her time in the orphanage. Doing super stuff behind the scenes without recognition. Superman going off world, and her stepping in, to do more open stuff, but having to keep herself blurred from photos etc. Then her pending adoption, Superman revealing to her adoptive parents whom she is, and then revealing her to the world, explaining how the things that had been attributed to him were done by her, and her acceptance by the world. Interspaced with back steps to her growing up on Argo City, under the bubble. The bubble being punctured, her parents trying a Phantom Zone 2 projector on themselves on failling, when the lead surface which had been laid down was punctured. Them sending her to Earth to be with her cousin. The fading of her parents as it becomes apparent to them that the projector did work but had a delayed effect, som ething she was un aware of. The discovery of the Second Phantom Zone, and the rescue of her parents, but their deciding to be shrun k to live in Kandor as they felt her life was noiw on Earth alongside her cousion, and not with them, and they had no wish to be present on Earth. The discovery of a Red Sun system, with a planet almost identical to Krypton, but which phased between universes, which the Kandorians decided would be their new home when the city was enlarged. She saying farewell to her parents, and of course Superman saying farewell to his Uncle and Aunt. And of course the interspersed adventure she has during all this. it could have been EPIC but then, having a female character who has to learn to use her powers, has to live through adversity and consequences, isn;'t something modern creators want to deral with, so sadly probably something not to be seen. [Also imagine parallel classic era themes being used in the DC film franchise which any TV series could parallel and overlap with, rather than the dark Snyder version, or the worse current versions. imagine seeing Superman get pissed off with the Lanterns about them not saving Krypton, and then being shown (and us as well) the story of how the destruction was delayed so that he could be saved. And how his parents were supposed to be Lanterns them,s;lves and he would would have been the greatest Lantern ever, but now the Guardians regard him of having a greater destiny. Imagine seeing not just Superman but the still new JLA fighting Brainac, and retrieving Kandor (okay a variation, but nothing has to be fixed for a greater narrative) including flashbacks to the race who created him. Sorry, I rambled off topic there, into a potential DC Live Action potential which sadly we will never see. *sigh* Shouldn't post on things when sleep deprived... sorry

As much as I love Season 4 of Supergirl,Season 6 is a cringey mess that it's possibly the worst of the Series,it felt rushed, boring, unheard, and painful that it's clearly obvious that CW had too much control over this that on one hand it sad that it over but on the other hand I'm glad that it's over since let's face it and be real Supergirl is a awful Series and now we must move forward since we must keep moving on with life and live and learn.

mate how Arrow season 4 and flash has been since season 4 , if you liked it then go ahead but i you dont then you will hate Supergirl like way way more
The Flash Season 7, Supergirl season 6, and LOT Seasons 6 and 7 are all terrible. This has been a terrible year for the arrowverse (Minus Stargirl and Superman & Lois)
The weird thing was throwing in that "No touch without consent" line in the middle of a f****** battle. Battle. I mean... Really? Fight versus online 10 freaking minutes in a two-hour finale. Line would have gone better anywhere else
Haven't watched anything CW for years since the shows went from OK to boring to unbearable, but holy hell the show got so ugly. The costumes look like average cosplay at best, action shots are nausea inducing and the CGI looks like a from a school film made by high-schoolers. It's a real shame, because each of the CW shows was a golden opportunity to great a goddamn good TV series. Sadly now when someone mentions a comic book TV series it will be immediately associated with this crap.
The costumes are good now as they use same costume company as the movies and CGI of Superman & Lois, Stargirl and Flash Armageddon is also really good. Writing of Superman & Lois and Stargirl is great so definitely watch these two.
This episode really confirmed the fact that the writers didn’t really give a fuck about the whole Nia being Dream Girls ancestor thing, I mean it was obvious from the start but they weren’t even pretending anymore. If they wanted her to be trans and they wanted her to have a romance with Brainiac why bother making her an ancestor? Why not just have her be Dream Girl but living in modern times, would that break all our brains? “Dream Girl can’t be here she’s meant to live in the 30th century. What is happening! This doesn’t make any sense, up until this point the show had always done everything 100% accurate to how it was in the comics. This can’t be real, if they can just change something from how it was in the comics like that how can I tell if anything’s real, is life just an illusion created by a demon or some kind of alien simulation or something. Am I even real?”
I stopped watching this regularly after season 3, which ended terribly and only tuned in for episodes like crisis because it just was sooo terrible. This show is the best argument against fighting cancellation. So many people (including me) fought for this after CBS cancelled it after season 1and this is what they did with that second chance. Stuff like Alex's cringy line about consent was the NORM on this show after season 4. They literally live in an alternate universe where they think people want to watch what is basically a super leftist women's study class. Every female character was a mary sue who could do anything. They all told us how awesome they were and spent half of episodes telling each other how strong and brave they were. Just constant ham fisted political statements that really came across as high schoolers wrote it. Even when the ratings tank, they doubled, tripled and quintupled down on the cringe. It was like they thought they were being paid in woke points. The CW slashed its budget and man can you see it here. The "special" effects in the last couple of seasons looked like a bad high school production. The fight scenes were just terrible with choppy edits to hide the obvious lack of fight skills these actors had. It was like the bonus ninja scene from Bowfinger bad. The show was actually insulting to watch, not just because it was so bad and so cringy, but because they seemed to want to insult any normal person who might just want to see a superhero series and be entertained. The whole thing was made for an invisible audience that does not exist in reality.
Supergirl was completely one of my most favorite shows. I just need to say, this could have been way better. Because it was to weak for a seasons' finally. Supergirl diserved a way better ending.
I agree. The ending of Supergirl actually screwed up continuity for Superman & Lois. With Supergirl revealing her secret identity to the world, she has effectively outed her cousin as Superman. The writers should have had Supergirl go to the 30th century with Brainiac 5, Nia, and Mon-El so they could have held onto some continuity and stayed somewhat true to the comic books. It also made no sense for Brainiac 5 to decide to stay in the present with Nia when both of these characters live in the 30th century with Supergirl in the comic books. And I couldn't understand how and when did Lex Luther escape from jail? There was no mention of this
"Arrowverse" been dead for awhile. It was a good run while it lasted. Time to move on to the next thing I guess. They were too busy trying to spread a message than actually tell a story about Kara. CW is trash. Its a shame so many shows on this network that started off with a bang end with a whimper and nobody cares because everybody has move don *shrugs*
2021 Arrowverse seasons ranked 1. Superman & Lois S1 (what a great first season to this show. Not only that the production is very high quality, but the writing and character development was really great as both Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch shine as the titular characters) 2. Stargirl S2: "Summer School" (though the pacing was rather slow, it was overall another great season of Stargirl with a dark tone that fits perfectly with the main villain, Eclipso, as the JSA continues to grow with new members in Jade and Thunderbolt) 3. Supergirl S6 (an enjoyable final season for this show as it has some strong character moments along with an interesting villain in Nyxly as well as Jon Cryer's Lex Luthor) 4. The Flash S7B: "The Godspeed Imperative" (although the Godspeed arc should have been developed more, it was definitely very interesting in terms of bringing back some old characters like XS, Jay Garrick, and John Diggle as well as finally bringing in Bart Allen aka Impulse) 5. Batwoman S2 (this was a challenging season for this show as the writers essentially have to reboot it with a new original lead character, Ryan Wilder. While i did eventually warm up to her as well as like the storyline with Black Mask, there were still problems in the writing) 6. Black Lightning S4 (while this season finally concluded the rivalry between Black Lightning and Tobias Whale, as a final season it didn't really wrapped up loose ends) 7. DC's Legends of Tomorrow S6 (once again, the show continues to drop in quality with this inconsistent comedic tone. Not only that alien theme was not interesting, but this was also Constantine's unfortunate sendoff and Bishop is such a terrible villain in the Arrowverse. Be glad that this season was a bit more entertaining than that of the Forces arc on The Flash) 8. The Flash S7A: "God Complex" (do i even need to explain why this arc is so low on this list? One word: UNWATCHABLE. The Forces arc was the cringiest storyline we have ever seen in the Arrowverse)

Facts lol
Plus foljs are gonna put 2+2 and boom all identities revealed, you take an expert assassin and get done with Supergirl's more than half the team.
Supergirl has always suffered from poor writing even in it’s “best” seasons.
Unpopular opinion, but I rewatched season 1-2 of supergirl and they’re not as bad as I remember or people say it to be. Of course it suffers from cringe and poor quality in some episodes but in others it’s good to see Kara actually be the main focus of her show for once.
Agreed
Swooping down from a helicopter, with her Assault rifle slinged around her chest, than this. Her suit is god AWFUL! @pnorbert2222 Yeah. It's Iike what the guy said in the video. They're trying to hard to send a message, rather than to make a good story. They're focusing so much on the characters menial problems that the story is like dragging a cinderblock through mud in a 10 dollar RC car. It treated the story and characters with respect and it was their final hurrah and I almost cried seeing it end

Smallville had its own problems but it at least felt like it ended at the right spot (it was meant to show Clark eventually becoming Superman).
@@mikemorro140 hell Barry repeats the same “arc” (if you want to call it that) where he trusts people only for them to screw him over.
@@mikemorro140 it's part of the reason why the first 5 seasons of supernatural were the best. There was the multi seasonal arc of Sam and Dean preparing to fight Lucifer in the apocalypse. The seasons after that they were kinda winging it cuz they weren't expecting more seasons. That's why they were reduce to just seasonal threats and the show kinda ran out of steam
Smallville was similar but a longer arc.

@@Xehanort10 she sounds utterly delusional.

Bro calmed down

1. Eclipso (another great dark villain in the Arrowverse with a cool design as his rivalry with the JSA shines by playing on their deepest and darkest fears)
2. Tal-Rho (while i have mixed feelings about Tal-Rho being Superman's half-brother, i definitely do think he was a very well written character as he was essentially the Arrowverse adaptation of the Eradicator)
3. Black Mask (cool mask design as well as the actor giving a pretty good and menacing performance)
4. Lex Luthor (although him being a love interest to Nyxly was a weird direction to go for this character, Jon Cryer still shines as the iconic Lex Luthor who has pretty much made a good rivalry with the Superfriends, especially his half-sister Lena)
5. Tobias Whale (as the final big bad of Black Lightning, i say that this was Tobias' very best season as the main villain as he really almost made Jefferson lose everything)
6. Nyxlygsptlnz (as one of the final main villains of Supergirl, Nyxly was a rather interesting and enjoyable character to see onscreen)
7. Godspeed (while he does have a very comic accurate costume, August Heart's character and storyline should have been developed more)
8. Speed Force (while the storyline with the Forces sucked, i do think that Michelle Harrison gives at least a decent performance as a villain)
9. Safiyah Sohail (an interesting connection to Alice, but i think Safiyah lacked development as she pretty much disappeared after 2x08 and return again very late near the finale of the season)

its because they have to write for so many episodes.
If arrow hadn't ended when it did you would have had time to see it die a similar painful death as well.
I can't remember if I am correct or not but wasn't it just that star and galaxy and not all blue stars?

5. Lillian Luthor (fine villain with an interesting rivalry with Supergirl as well as her familial connection with her two children)
6. Rhea (while Rhea isn't that good of a villain, she was at least kinda better than Selena and/or Kara's aunt and uncle)
7. Selena (not the most memorable character, but at least she was responsible for creating arguably one of the better villains of the show in Reign)
8. Astra (she along with her husband were not that compelling as villains, but at least Astra was a little more interesting than Non)
9. Non (not that good of a villain, even his death was kinda underwhelming)

And of course the interspersed adventure she has during all this.
it could have been EPIC
but then, having a female character who has to learn to use her powers, has to live through adversity and consequences, isn;'t something modern creators want to deral with, so sadly probably something not to be seen.

Good to know that I've been dodging a bullet by not watching this and that I haven't missed anything
You should still watch it, this review was actual shit coming from a person who actually watch the season and many things that he highlighted were explained earlier in the season
mate how Arrow season 4 and flash has been since season 4 , if you liked it then go ahead but i you dont then you will hate Supergirl like way way more
The Flash Season 7, Supergirl season 6, and LOT Seasons 6 and 7 are all terrible. This has been a terrible year for the arrowverse (Minus Stargirl and Superman & Lois)
And the worst season of the Arrowverse ever... Batwoman season 2!
well blacklightning didnt do good they ended that show with bad season and just the moments good finale thing .
@@FlarrowSpider i disagree it wasn't as bad
I was waiting for thus video. I felt exactly the same way about the series finally. Such an embarrassing ending
The show went out the same way it came in.. absolute garbage and a waste of a hour of everyone's life everytime they watched a episode
It doesnt deserve shit
@@bironjames9948 Yes aggreed. That ending sucked as hell. It could have been so much better. Even Black Lightning ended way better than Supergirl did.
@@sasamitrovic4660 black lightning last season was just trash. Like cmon
This was a truly awful finale.
2021 Arrowverse seasons ranked
1. Superman & Lois S1 (what a great first season to this show. Not only that the production is very high quality, but the writing and character development was really great as both Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch shine as the titular characters)
2. Stargirl S2: "Summer School" (though the pacing was rather slow, it was overall another great season of Stargirl with a dark tone that fits perfectly with the main villain, Eclipso, as the JSA continues to grow with new members in Jade and Thunderbolt)
3. Supergirl S6 (an enjoyable final season for this show as it has some strong character moments along with an interesting villain in Nyxly as well as Jon Cryer's Lex Luthor)
4. The Flash S7B: "The Godspeed Imperative" (although the Godspeed arc should have been developed more, it was definitely very interesting in terms of bringing back some old characters like XS, Jay Garrick, and John Diggle as well as finally bringing in Bart Allen aka Impulse)
5. Batwoman S2 (this was a challenging season for this show as the writers essentially have to reboot it with a new original lead character, Ryan Wilder. While i did eventually warm up to her as well as like the storyline with Black Mask, there were still problems in the writing)
6. Black Lightning S4 (while this season finally concluded the rivalry between Black Lightning and Tobias Whale, as a final season it didn't really wrapped up loose ends)
7. DC's Legends of Tomorrow S6 (once again, the show continues to drop in quality with this inconsistent comedic tone. Not only that alien theme was not interesting, but this was also Constantine's unfortunate sendoff and Bishop is such a terrible villain in the Arrowverse. Be glad that this season was a bit more entertaining than that of the Forces arc on The Flash)
8. The Flash S7A: "God Complex" (do i even need to explain why this arc is so low on this list? One word: UNWATCHABLE. The Forces arc was the cringiest storyline we have ever seen in the Arrowverse)
hey look, another person who doesnt understand Legends
@@KuroAceVT i used to like Legends, but what they are doing now with their inconsistent tone and writing... it's just terrible storylines and use of characters and it is not even a superhero show anymore
@@JoelMiller431 Legends is about being human. It is never trying to be what you want it to be, it does whta it knows is right and _very clearly_ has a hell of a good time doing it
I'd watch any episode of The Flash Season 7 over Batwoman season 2 any day of the week!
@@KuroAceVT or someone who just has opinion?
Oh well, can't wait to see you diss the Flash's series finale. You just have such high expectations for whatever show you watch
Love the content keep it up..👍🏽
Netflix should stop including LESBIAN / GAY scenes..its DISGUSTING…but it seems netflix is trying to promote then in almost all of their movies…children are watching and its not so good for them to watch immoral and disgusting two lesbians having an affair and always kissing each other…YACH!!!🤢🤮 sorry its just my OPINION.
So glad this show finished, hopefully batwoman ends pretty soon
Facts
I think I know why, but I want to hear what you say ,why do you want bat women to end?
@@coleevans2057 It’s just like super girl, trying to get certain messages across then putting up an actual good show. It should be Giving a significant meaning of who the actual superhero character is. I tried I actually tried watching both of them, couldn’t go past episode two on either show, super girl and batwoman.
@@Theinspirationalrogue yea
At 3:20…. Is that really how it happens in the show?? Girl is getting her ass kicked by Metallo… guy comes in to save the day and distract… then she flies over the top top and taps him 40 feet away into a goofy ass explosion? I hope it wasn’t edited that way and that’s actually what happens in the show.
