- During the college football game between Georgia Tech and Virginia, a Virginia cheerleader got demolished on the sidelines when Georgia Tech QB Jeff Sims accidentally ran into her. He landed right on top of her and the collision looked pretty bad. Thankfully, she was seen walking as she was being tended too. Virginia went on to defeat Georgia Tech 48-40 in a high scoring affair.

@@spicysalami9160 people don't realize that refs and these sideline people do not have pads. pads hitting you with all that force behind it when you have no protection really sucks.
You can see him shifting his body mid-fall so she doesn't take his full weight. Still, that's gotta hurt.
Yeah, I think from her reaction she was more surprised than hurt. But yeah, hopefully it's all good
The fact that the player saw her and jumped changed his momentum. Otherwise, he would have struck her with full force. Kudos to the player.
For sure, the jump confused me on first but now I see if he didn't do it she could have caught full helmet or shoulder pad to the face
I dunno, if he had just run over her I don’t think it would have been as bad as jumping and then landing his full weight on top of her. If he had cleared her or jumped to the side it’s one thing, but he damn near gave her the people’s elbow.

jumping helped at first to take some momentum off the hit but immediately landing back down on her probably did more damage
@@manaze85 He also only had a split second to react. Its easy to analyze his mistakes when watching a video back on it that is slowed down. Its easy to make judgements and decide what you would differently when you can learn from others mistakes.
No need to boo that kid. He did his best to avoid her even though he pancaked her. Then he tried to help her up and check on her. He did all he could do.

Great work by the player to make sure she wasn't hit at full force.
That happened to me at my first game. Some football player from the other team was trying to pick a fight with our team so one of them got pushed to where the cheerleaders where but the football player from my team was trying to push me out of the way. And he pushed me just in time but just barely, I landed beside them. All I got was a twisted ankle and I hit my head. But the one who pushed me out of the way hit his head extremely hard on the bleachers, I’m grateful he pushed me out of the way or it would have been a whole lot worse.
She put her arms out and braced for impact instead of just backing up two feet. 😂
I mean it was literally a split second decision. Its like where your brain decides to do too many diffrent things at once. But yeah the sidelines should have cleared when the players started getting close

I have seen lots of cheerleaders getting hurt or injured on the sidelines by football players in my lifetime, I wish there was a fence to guard the cheerleaders from getting hurt and injured by football players!!

Amazing how when the world class athletes are out of bounds they suddenly become uncoordinated. That was 100% avoidable by a person with average coordination.
