+TheLazyPeon Sup man. Yee I saw you were wearing an August Burns Red shirt in one of your vids. ERRA is my favorite band, and I saw them live with ABR last year! Just saw ERRA again recently and seeing ABR again in a month! hahaha! Addicted. How did you come across ERRA? Make sure to check out their full LP 'AUGMENT'. It's arguably their best work.
My favorite song by far. This band is hella overlooked. Every song is awesome and I hope they don’t change their sound. This is a very unique band, I hope it stays that way.
I love the entire album, but it suprises me how much i like this one. It's just a "summer hit" in the metal universe. This album to me is the perfect summer album, like Deep Blue from PWD.
I dig this, it's very chill like some In Hearts Wake style. I'm sure there's groove and heavy in other tracks but I like the chill sensation on this one. Niiiiiiice
Dude I haven’t listened to In Hearts Wake in a while my library that I had them in got corrupted. I forgot all about them and you just unlocked them. Thank you
All these people comparing the 2 new songs to Augment... Augment was 3 years ago, this scene has progressed since then and the dudes in ERRA have grown and changed since they wrote Augment (not to mention the lineup changes), so of course it's not gonna sound the same. It's still good music, you're just making it hard for yourself to enjoy it by comparing it to their old music. Listen to it for what it is.
Eh, I don't think its because it's "different" per se. It's slow, boring, generic and at a technical deficit when compared to that of Augment. It's just kind of bad. I had higher expectations for these guys and sincerely hope the rest of the album is nothing like this song.
+Papvshim These are probably just the more experimental tracks they wanted to put out before the real good sings kick in. I highly doubt they would drop their legendary sound, since that's what their best known for.
+TheOnlyAbomination no, I'm one of those people who will support a band no matter how different their new material may sound. God forbid people like me exist. You, on the other hand, are one of those people who will judge an entire album and a band's state of artistic creativity based off of only 2 songs they've released. It's a shame there are so many people like you out there
As you kids grow up, your musical tastes will become tighter and more refined. I love it because I am 30 and have lived and breathed metal throughout all its cycles and sub genres since around 92'. it's a product of subjective prospective that creates my desire for a more focused and evolving sound from bands I love. If you're young, you're going to constantly crave a one dimensional sound because you simply haven't put in the years to appreciate any evolution a band (who are humans just like you) makes. If you find yourself in that group, you're not wrong, but you're not right either. \m/
+Hubert Rapinat This band is literally formulated to be mainstream... clean vocals, easy pace to follow, not too abrasive for your "beginner" listener... Disappointing from what they used to be, honestly. They worked better as an ambient groove metal band IMHO, just something to space out and blaze to, ya know? Background music, study music, etc. etc. The vocals ruin it and now they are just like every other mainstream post-deathcore/popcore band out there.
+stustockwell honestly this does not sound formulated to be mainstream to me... By any means.. Like literally not at all:p. its a genius mixture of technicality and smooth listening. Regardless i have not heard their prior stuff to this though. But a change does not mean mainstream.
+stustockwell Why do you think I like ERRA? I loved their old band By Blood and Iron but I'm not close te be a fan of the band, even tho I like this song
+stustockwell But yes, they making relative mainstream music, despite I was talking about the non-metal mainstream music I'm aware of all those things and I have nothing against it, just that I find funny to watch deathcore band growing having an hipster/pop artist image

+End Lithium I liked Luminesce and don't really care all too much for this song haha. I really hope that with the rest of the tracks on the album they utilize JT's vocals. He doesn't even sound like the same vocalist like he did on Bloodwork. He is exactly what this band needs but from what I see so far this is going to be my least favorite Erra release :(
I love the chill atmospheric vibe this song is giving me, I do miss Alan's presence in Erra so much though. In the augment teaser when he says "We are going to keep writing how we love, it's never going to change" the feels man
Honestly my favorite band. It's not like their regular stuff. But I can can dig this, kinda seems like they're going for a different sound but I love it.
I'll still love these guys no matter what they publish. Imo it's not as good as Impulse, Augment, or Andromeda, but it's still ERRA. It has great parts, and some not so great imo. But I still love these guys.
I feel a bit odd about this as well. I have a very diverse taste and it seems like every band I like changes their style its to a style that I also like but I feel like the guitar work could've been a bit more technical like Luminesce.
gotta say I was kinda disappointed with this one. not so excited for this album anymore. still a good song, but it's no longer the erra feel that I fell in love with
+Clarkzor Lol ok. That's your opinion, but Andromeda beats this in technicality, melody, and heaviness. Go listen to Isolation Blue again and come back to me.
I'm digging the new Erra songs, because Augment and Impulse were pretty close to each other music- and feel wise, but this is a whole new thing and I'm lovin' it.!!!
I love this song. Such a trippy vibe they create at the end of the song with the solo outro. It reminds me a little bit of the solo at the end of "Straws pulled at random" by Meshuggah. Both are amazing.
It took me a couple listens but this definitely grew on me... This is still the ERRA we all know and love people, so let's support them and I know they won't let us down with this album.
So many people bitching about the quality! It's on YT ffs, everything sounds less than the actual record does but I digress... This song is AMAZING!! That into alone sold me to this song, you can chill and still get hyped from it.
This song captures the ambiance and surreal lyrical themes that Erra nailed in Augment. No vocalist can replace Garrison's unique style, but Cavey is a nice complement to the group. Drift seems like a fitting return to the profound and dynamic sound that makes Erra, well, ERRA. Can't wait to hear the full album. :)
Not as heavy or fast/technical as Augment but I really like the melodic variety. This is a very different song than what they've previously wrote and I really really like it. This and the hypnotist are my favs so far
The production, I think, is pretty good. It's not overbearing and it's still heavy with the same melodic elements that we all know and love; JT's also sounding fierce. Overall I'd say that Erra is progressing and aging like hella fine wine.
I think everyone is overreacting a bit, it is definitely a change, but I'm digging it. Although it isn't like "old ERRA" I think any step you guys take is a good one. you know what you're doing. Much love and support. 👍
I really don't see why everyone hates JT. His vocals are extremely present and clear and have that satisfying crunch i just love. Sure he's no Garrison, but for everyone complaining that he doesn't sound as good as him, you really need to get a reality check and realize that he isn't coming back, no matter how much you bitch, and if you decide to stop listening to Erra just because the vocalist "isn't as good", then you were never a true fan in the first place. True fans stick with the band until the end, and i'll be along for the ride. Can't wait to kick some ass with you guys soon because this song just vibrates my soul.
+StahlmetallerM you dont understand mate, ive listened to at least 2 other albums i think are the best things ever and am now a god at all of music, and can tell you how to think, and be mad when you dont think like me. lol
+StahlmetallerM Because you can hear the mix isn't as natural as it was on, say, Augment or anything prior. The song is still fantastic though, it'll just bug the producers among us.
I have spoken to Sean, the guitarist opposite of Jesse, and he told me that these 2 releases are easily the most straight forward of on the record and that there will indeed be some of that chaotic bounciness we are use to.
This is still my favorite of all the tracks released on this album so far. And I'm a diehard Erra fan. I really like the feel of this track. It's not Hybrid Earth and it doesn't need to be. This is a song with purpose and themes. I dig it
+Corban T. for real. I'd bet that not every song on this album will be this different and that they just wanted a stick-out song to appeal to another crowd!
Not every song, at all moments needs to be full of complete instrumental wankery, which is what 99% of you "professional" UA-cam audio engineers don't understand. I hate this mix, but the composition and the arrangement are fantastic. There was definitely vision here.
sometimes bands put out shittier mixes out as the singles for pre-album releases that way when they actually release they album as a whole, people still have a reason to buy the new album in its entirety, because of the better mix on the album. not saying that's what they're doing because not every band does it, but I sure hope that's what's going on.
+Jes Schwartz Ya i would agree with you there. the mix and production of this album got watered down and drowned out. nothing near what impulse and augment were. jesse really shinned bright and obviously in those albums with his guitar playing. not so much in this one but this song has an incredible idea going
guys this song is incredible. I didn't hear it the first couple times but now my eyes have been opened ha. too good. drifting in and out...of reality. it's got this aquatic drifty feel to it and that's exactly what they were going for. such an exciting refreshing sound for erra, who have always been known for their beauty. Mark my words, this is going to be one of their best albums to date.
ERRA is the one of the best dual-vocal blends with the current lineup. Not to mention the bass line outro is off the chain. I can't help but play air drums to it while driving! Like mentioned above, it IS different from earlier productions, but this is the *nature of 'progressive' metal. Enjoy it, bcit will change again (as Eye of God and new singles exemplify)! Love you, my dudes ERRA
Really chilled/laid back feeling. Still itching to hear Jesse go nuts again but having this song in the album will make it feel really mixed. I like it.
+Lee Sheahan I actually quite enjoy reading everyone's opinion on the newer material thus far. Their opinion doesn't affect my own, so it's just cool to see out of curiosity.
@@betrayu Luminesce is definitely more DMT to me - "we leave and then we go back like we never left" gave me a surprise flashback the first time I ever heard that lyric
Nothing wrong with liking this song; nothing wrong with not liking it. I'd suggest taking a handful of listens and allowing it to sink in before making up your mind. I don't think it's better or worse than their previous stuff but just different. You can't blame a band for wanting to explore some different sounds and not do the same thing over and over again on every album. I don't really see the "gone mainstream" thing going on here at all. Song is melodic but very patient and focused. This doesn't sound like what Of Mice and Men or Parkway Drive did with their sound. Plus, this is only ONE song. Who knows what the rest of the album will sound like.
crazy.. I just wish the world could hear us,.. these guys quit playing for us quit playing what you all wanted to hear and gave you all something to talk about. my heart goes out to y'all and the producers
I am not a fan of erra but I can understand what you guys go through. I bet you'd love this song coming from an other band because this is not what you want from THIS band. This is the same thing that happen to me with veil of maya. the new stuff is good but I'm upset that I will never get the old VoM back.
Jacob Moore Nah new veil of maya is good also, it's just that old veil of maya had a more raw and gut-clenching mood. it really gave me something that not much else did at the time.
I am in love with the style they performing the song, the melodic style and the vocals are both very impressive. Dont know the history of this band, but they are putting some quality stuff out, so i am definetly gonna check the album. The song gives me chills:3
I think it was a wrong decision to go for a more simple, catchy and less technical music style at the same time that you choose the most generic and boring screamer in this world. JT Cavey has a flawless technique and his screams are powerful but he sounds like EVERYONE ELSE. This obvious fact plus the lack of solos, powerful breakdowns and technical melodic passages makes Erra go to the red carpet of the mainstream metal bands that the new listeners love because it sounds familiar to things they already know but true fans stop having faith in the band because their ears are trained for more, not less. Just my thoughts.
René TR I feel that. But it depends where the fans are coming from. I like atb, (old) atr, aild, log, tdwp. Just heard this and it’s got some nice technicality to it. But I understand band evolutions don’t always go as fans hope - case in point ATR. But oh well, some get better some get worse. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Was sceptical about any new stuff, having been a fan from the start....but this whole album just grew on me massively. This song stands out massively, the intro is probably my favourite riff since the architect. Listen to this with decent headphones and it'll blow your balls off.
I am an easy man. i see erra, i listen, i like. but seriously tbh the sound is far different from augment, not only vocal vise. hope the other songs are better.
I agree. I love ERRA but this just isn't really doing it for me. There's just something about it. I have no problem with the new vocalist, there's just something off. Enjoyed the last vocalist, not as much as Garrison though
I discovered ERRA at this album, so to me, this is fantastic. It's all about perspective. I like their older ones too, but the first album that gets me into a band always has a soft spot and this was it.
God, every song this band creates just hits you with such a unique vibe that only they can give you

Could it be the ice cream you dropped on your pants?
@@rvbagentky6532 The only winter band for me is Immortal.... lol.
at this point, as long as they stay melodic and Jesse keeps up the cleans, ERRA can do no wrong, in my eyes. JT is a damn good addition

This song is fascinating
[Verse 1]
Take a breath
Enter the unknown
Watch your step
It’s an escape to the world anew
Flood yourself with colors and senses on overload
Sink inside yourself
Watch out for the bottom
Because there's no turning back once it takes control
And you prefer this new creation
The pain exits slowly
And there’s nothing left but bliss
[Chorus]
Floating out at sea, away from reality
It pulls me under, the tide will blow your mind
I'm drifting in and out of ocean dreams
It pulls me under, the tide will blow your mind
[Verse 2]
My pulse is sent into overdrive
Trying to calm my nerves with an unnatural catalyst
Agitator, wave maker, incendiary, excite my life
[Chorus]
Floating out at sea, away from reality
It pulls me under, the tide will blow your mind
I'm drifting in and out of ocean dreams
It pulls me under, the tide will blow your mind
(Drifting in and out)
[Outro]
Drifting in and out of reality
(Drifting in and out of reality)
Drifting in and out of ocean dreams
(Drifting in and out of reality)
Let your mind drift
Thx the lyric video i found for this sucks and I need to scream it correctly lol

+Corban T. for real. I'd bet that not every song on this album will be this different and that they just wanted a stick-out song to appeal to another crowd!
I'll lay under a constellation filled sky next to the settling ocean and pop this beauty of a song and just let my mind drift
Not every song, at all moments needs to be full of complete instrumental wankery, which is what 99% of you "professional" UA-cam audio engineers don't understand. I hate this mix, but the composition and the arrangement are fantastic. There was definitely vision here.
Lmao. "...'professional UA-cam audio engineers...'"
sometimes bands put out shittier mixes out as the singles for pre-album releases that way when they actually release they album as a whole, people still have a reason to buy the new album in its entirety, because of the better mix on the album. not saying that's what they're doing because not every band does it, but I sure hope that's what's going on.
+Jes Schwartz agreed 100%
I like it.
beautiful
I love it! Everything I love about Erra and then something unexpected thrown in. So excited for the album.
I like this, this is pretty
so chill to listen to when seshing
Opinions are like buttholes. Everyone has them and nobody wants to hear them. I will always love Erra.
+Lee Sheahan I actually quite enjoy reading everyone's opinion on the newer material thus far. Their opinion doesn't affect my own, so it's just cool to see out of curiosity.
Hansol I can agree with that
+Hansol I thought you were gonna say I actually quite enjoy hearing buttholes.
+CoDisafishy i mean, i do..farts are funny af
FlyingVHockey I agree wholeheartedly.
The guitar work of this band is so neat! Also great clean vocal melodies!
this song makes me want to just cruise in a speedboat
That intro hypnotized me into another dimension for 4:40. It was a magical out-of-body experience.
Everytime im listen to this song I feel this drifting in an out of reality effect omg. Do you guys feel it?
sold. Purchasing this album, so consistently good
+RED HANDED DENIAL or download the zip for free
+Jake James or nah
***** okay pay for it lmao
Read the lyrics as if they are talking about LSD. Makes sense.
Jared Wilkerson im a lil late but definitely feel that
This is not LSD, this is mushrooms, no doubt.
It's DMT
@@betrayu Luminesce is definitely more DMT to me - "we leave and then we go back like we never left" gave me a surprise flashback the first time I ever heard that lyric
@@betrayu i think so as well
JT Cavey and ERRA mesh beautifully together and I think he made a great choice going to them... awesome single. can't wait for the drop!
I know what you mean completely, I can't get any other band that made me feel the way I did with the old Veil of Maya.
Jacob Moore
Nah new veil of maya is good also, it's just that old veil of maya had a more raw and gut-clenching mood. it really gave me something that not much else did at the time.
The best way to describe this song in one word. Earthy.
Undoubtedly the sound is going to change with new production and new unclean vocals, but I am still a fan.
I just enjoy music. You should do the same and not be a masochist.
Saw these guys live last night with born of Osiris and ausübst burns red. Erra was by far the best performance
Erra will never be the same without Alan Rigdon :(
+Bryan Pasupathi Maybe thats true
+Bryan Pasupathi Take a listen to his new project 'The Artificials', it's got that old erra style of song writing and it's just glorious to listen to!
+Kieron Connelly I have listened to the Ep, can't wait for the full length!
So much this
This guy gets it. What got me into Erra way back then was because he played in Broadcast the Nightmare.
Was sceptical about any new stuff, having been a fan from the start....but this whole album just grew on me massively. This song stands out massively, the intro is probably my favourite riff since the architect. Listen to this with decent headphones and it'll blow your balls off.
heavy Ghost Atlas?
One of the most beautiful song's I've ever heard. Bravo!
Northlane, is that you?
sweet, glad I'm found this. This is the first of many ERRA songs I'll listen to, I'm sure.
+Derp Couldn't agree more. Have a listen to Currents - Withered to fill the void ERRA has left :P
***** Yea i know but this song especially really lacks the creativity that made erra sound unique.
+Derp Dude how the fuck did that outro lack creativity? Do you play guitar? Seriously?
Clarkzor Theres more to a Song than the Outro.
Jesse Cash's vocals insane...love this band...and ghost atlas, give them a listen.
Eren Yeager Approved
I-Is that you... Yeager BOMBASTIC!
Weak ass imposter
I discovered ERRA at this album, so to me, this is fantastic. It's all about perspective. I like their older ones too, but the first album that gets me into a band always has a soft spot and this was it.
i feel like this song is about LSD
+noahisalive Holy shit, I didn't read the lyrics fully until reading your comment. That makes total sense. I wonder if any of them trip lol.
i think they do for sure
first time I heard this song was on LSD...definitely felt the drift
@@x0scimy0x white noise is about DMT
@@siriplaydopethrone8973 DMT for sure
