This is it. Melodically rounded, interesting rhythms, intricate musicianship, realistic sounding vocals, and sound balance between dirty and clean. I'm so stoked on this. I'm into ERRA now more than ever.
4,000 thumbs up and 382,000 views???? I don't know about under appreciated dude... try Concensus Down, Atomship, Bionic Jive, Shuvel, THAT'S under appreciated music.
@@mylife1221 Just want to jump on this to say I feel you! I come back to this song time and time again and that part, the screams, cleans and insane guitar licks just send me. Goosebumps every time.
one of THE best songs of all time my dude i'm with ya. music is a bridge. we will always be friends because of this song even if we never meet again. o7 salute.
Sometimes our darker side grows hypnotizing, pleading for release. Consciences out of touch, with love subsiding, needing set free. We're writing off memories as time slips away. Welcome to the free world, with consciences out of touch. You know when a love so full fades away, you ponder things lost between time and this hollow space. You ponder what you can't replace, and your mind recalls her face.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how beautifully the intro repeats itself after 4:30 ?? These are the things that most people overlook but are the reason I love Erra.
This album is absolutely superb. Not only does it bring back classic Erra, but it also adds such a great element. This album proves that emotion in songwriting is still here, and that bands can still make extremely impactful albums. Erra are the masters of making albums that leave you awestruck, and I truly believe this is their greatest work yet. Well done, boys. This is a true masterpiece. My favorite album of 2016 so far, without a doubt.
I'm listening to this song in honour of my closest big brother named Adib Shahnewaz who passed away on 25th August 2020. He was a true metalhead ❤️ Keep him in your prayers.
Listening to this today in memory of my dear friend, Collin, who was found dead in his dorm room yesterday. Love you bro, rest easy. And thank you Erra for creating this masterpiece I can listen to in my time of mourning ❤
Jesse's part at 1:46 gives me chills every time. Erra comes with the feels every track, impeccable melodies and lyrics. Some of their best work yet huehuehue!
My favorite song on the album atm. I usually don't like longer songs, but they really do killer closings just like 'Dementia' from Augment. I only recently learned how to appreciate Dementia too.
Got back into metal about 3 years ago sad to say I've never heard this song until about a few weeks ago and it is by far one of my favorite songs at this time now.
I finally lost it to this song the other day. Was in a deep conversation with my ex (who flew all the way from San Francisco to the UK to be with me for a week), and I was on the edge of tears. So I put this song on the TV and it finally broke me, just started sobbing into his chest uncontrollably. I really needed that release. The lyrics also just made sense with how I felt, which is funny because they didn't affect me that much until that day. "Distance grows between you and I" - the only reason we aren't officially together is because of the distance. "Time slips away, and we're left here writing off the memories we saved" - I think it was at this point where I just broke down. Anyway, time really does feel like it's flown since I've known him, and despite making memories with him now, we're reliving the older ones at the same time. "You know when a love so full fades away, you ponder things lost between time and this hollow space" - I was so sure we would still be an official couple when we met in person, but it's just tragic that we couldn't be that way. Makes me think of all the opportunities we might have missed. Welp, there you have it. I finally was able to realise just how much this song is a part of me. Sure, it's probably been my favourite song from ERRA for a while, but only now did I come to accept its meaning in relation to my life. It just increased the emotions tenfold for me.
I'm in a pretty similar situation rn, where I couldn't stay with my girlfriend because there was just too much distance between us, and this song means more to me right now than anyone can imagine. I hope you've been doing better.
the person I like loves this band so much that is why I am listening to it too. "Won't you just say what you mean for the last time?" I like you for almost 3 years now (:
I never thought I'd hear lead screamer fromTexas in July again! I never heard of this band and stumbled upon them in iTunes yesterday.. If you have never heard of Texas, look them up.. All of their shit is good but the last 2 albums are amazing. So happy to see he found his way to a great band!!!!
I dont usually post in the comments but im not maybe the only one that got touched so emotionally with this song, i dunno this song makes want to live more so i can love and enjoy more every moment of my life. Congrats Guys!
+Sergio Ayala Man.. that's amazing! Good to see other people being deeply touched by this genre of music. Awesome avatar pic btw. I love VoM's Matriarch as well :)
Thomas Yeah I discovered them a few months ago, I was abit put off at first with some of the 'unachievable' cleans, but after hearing tracks such as 'Ultraviolet', 'Dementia' and 'Seven'. I was hooked haha!
The more i listen to Drift as a whole album the more i really enjoy it. The melodic style and technical aspects are still very much present and the whole theme of the album is meant to be a more sleepy-ish/mellow vibe than the previous albums so its not that they lost their mojo. Its more so that this album is experimenting with new concepts. As much as I'd love another Augment, we got a taste for that with Moments of Clarity. Basically what im saying is variety is good, but its not too far off from what Erra is known for so its very much still distinguishable with their sound.
Sean doesnt get enough credit in this band! He has been a great addition to the group and is extremely talented! And JT has done a great job as well! Erra: the one band that hasn't made a bad album!
I think these guys are genius. They reinvigorated metal for me. It was getting pretty cut and dry. the guys i grew up changed their sound to appeal to masses, but these guys reinvented the wheel. The riffs, the range of screams, and even fking guitar solos again. I'm thankful for being exposed to them. they've been the soundtrack to my life for the last year.
I love this song soooo much. The guitar work is superior. I can listen to this song and it's just as great everytime as it was when I heard the first time! ERRA FOREVER!!!
Ah…. Where it all began for me. 8 years later and Erra is still cranking out relentless perfection album after album. Most consistent, consummate professionals in the biz. This song tho, will never be topped for me personally. It’s Nostalgic audio wave crack.
Recently went through a breakup, this song hits hard. The emotions I go through rn and the lyrics of this song go in tandem. Thank you Erra for your art ❤
JT really grew on me. I loved his work with Texas in July but I wasn't sure about him being the new ERRA frontman. After a few listens of Drift it became apparent to me that he was the perfect fit. Drift is absolutly stellar
Joshh Rowsell Yeah. He's the most successful player in the history of esports, not just halo. I did say GOAT for a reason lol. Too bad he retired like a week ago.
+ricardomavs817 So is the spotify membership haha! But, regardless, ill buy it for these fellas, they provide me with too much head bobbing not to extend that thank you...

I 100% agree
This is their best album
Only just discovered them. Are their other tracks good?
@@Unstable_Diffusion89 Yes! Check out Augment, that's my favorite album
Impulse still my favourite
Erra. A very under appreciated band.

3:59 - 4:21 is far and away my favourite part of any Erra track. Every aspect of those 22 seconds completely encompass why I like Erra so much.
agree completely!
My man is spot on. I feel the same.
Yes, a thousand times yes! It leaves me yearning for more and sad that it's over.
4:06 - 4:10 is my favorite. The riff is real.
I know exactly what you mean :)
4:00 is top tier musicianship. how on earth they managed to come up with something so intricate and bone-chilling is something i'll never understand
im so fucking happy this song exists. that FUCKING RIFF AT 4:00 is just RHYTHMICALLY PERFECT WGIWUEHBG

one of THE best songs of all time my dude i'm with ya. music is a bridge. we will always be friends because of this song even if we never meet again. o7 salute.
Hybrid earth is the only thing close to this. But this is the move. I almost cried when I heard this shit. Timing. Guitar. Lyrics. 10 out of 10.
The Hypnotist vs The Architect
Dementia is the real n1 masterpiece

Sorry to hear that bud. Hope you’re doing alright.
honestly that clean vocal part at 1:47 is so damn good. something about that slight rasp in the high notes just gets me
So good
jesse's vocals peaked at this album, thats for sure.

and then they made neon LOL, you jinxed it
nah but in all seriousness, neon only sucks because of the mix. i still find myself jamming to monolith
4 months later and neon is one of my favs. spoke too soon
This is such a great song. I always find myself singing the "Return to me" section in my head hehe. Very Catchy!
i just came and cried at the same time.

This is up there with render the void. Such an amazing end to this album
+DareToShine Render is def my fav ERRA song. What an experience.
They are great live and this is a great signing for Sumerian
The guitar rift around 2:58 reminds me of the one in the Tokyo Ghoul theme.

Wonder why there isn’t a music video for this gold.
Early album favourite. But as always with ERRA's albums, the spngs are all so good that it changes all the time.
we needed a new erra
The GOAT Ogre 2 recommended this...I'm eternally thankful
+Sirzechs Azazel It's cool seeing two major hobbies/interests overlap. I didn't know Ogre 2 listened to metal.
+Shadow8P He listens to a lot a lot of things, but he loves Erra. Stop by his stream some time and chances are he'll have Erra in the background
Damn isn't that the halo pro with like 25 tourney wins? That's sick!

all of u must know this:
this is the best piece created by ERRA

I love ERRA
brutal screams in this melody make a perfect song!
This song and render the void are my favorites of Erra. Whole song puts me in a trance. Just a Beautifully composed song.
I like, grooves like a mother.
Probably one of the best albums to come out this year. Great tune as well. Can't wait to catch this band in February.
This came out last year brotha
One of my favorite breakdowns ever at the end of this song
jesse cash has got to be one of the most talented musicians alive.
Wow those lyrics, the last few lines gives me so much chills and goosebumps!
Very nice. ERRA never disappoints me.
Saw Erra last night with BOO and ABR. Really good show and Erra is an awesome band

Top song of the album for me, I nearly spit out my cereal while listening to it.
My 3rd favourite Erra's Song 🥰🤘
Yup, this is my favorite song off the album. The riff at the beginning and keys lol i thought they were gone.
came here for some old bangers, now i really can't figure out why this song is so damn good.
