Ae you guys worried at all about the longevity of the panels because they're already cracked? I imagine you could spray them with a stain/sealer too and that might help protect them a little?

I love this idea. Thank you for posting. What are your thoughts on using a galvanized post master post along with your fencing idea? I'm going to attempt to copycat your build at a 6' height.

What would you estimate the time would be to complete this? We have about 130 feet x 3 sides....and where does one purchase retired wood?

    • @everythingresidential

tough questions, depends on how efficient you work and if you have the right equipment,
      1. duration of work by completely guessing for you I would say 4 days to set posts, 4 days to install the panelling.
      2. you can go to any construction site with scaffolding and just ask who supplied it to them and then keep making phone calls. you gotta know the right people. we got our boards for 3$ each.

you have to find the company that is supplying the scaffolding boards to large construction sites you then find out who takes the damaged ones away and call that company. they will have pallets of them.

We could not do this in Arizona. The sun would degrade the wood in one summer. We have to use block.
    Looks great tho!

@@everythingresidential no way. I am shocked by that. I had a pile of wood in my side yard for a season, and it's ruined, rendered useless, due to the sun.

@@energeticsoulhealer888 if you use the basic 1/2” fence boards or standard lumber it does degrade rather quickly. This being build with repurposed scaffolding wood which is osha slow growth high grade lumber it’s a little different than most standard available wood. It is what the customer wanted and definitely a test of how it will hold up in Arizona or any climate but 3 years in and so far it is holding up perfectly with the sun and our monsoon winds. Only time will tell.

I mean, misleading af title. Yeah, this was cheapest FOR you, getting lucky. I saw how you told someone else you obtained the wood and, even mentioned in this video the posts you’re using are $10-20 each. But all you say is “know the right people” to get them cheaper. That’s so annoying.

If you live in a city like myself then there is a 100% chance their is a company that supplies or picks up retired scaffolding boards from large construction sites. The price per linear foot is by far cheaper then most fencing systems
