  • 2021 Moab Easter Jeep Safari. 3D Trail. Best 4x4 Trails in Moab. This is a mild trail that most stock Jeep Wranglers can handle. This trail runs around the northern edge of the Moab area and you can see the geographical chAnges. This travels through Hidden Canyon. The trail becomes more scenic in the back half. The hardest obstacles are on the later parts of the trail. Jeep off road. Toyota off road. Landcruiser. Rubicon. Jeep just kidding. Jeep lj. Jeep xj. Ford bronco
New Ford Broncos. New Ford Bronco off-road.

It has been fun to go and run new trails. 3D is in a part of Moab near the Northern boundary where the geology begins to change

As always, a great video. I enjoyed it, thanks. To the person in the silver? XJ, just two words for you, XJ's rule!

Thanks! We give XJs a hard time, but I love’em

@@crawlerutah If I told you how old I am, it would scare you. Let's just say, I've been off roading for at least 50 years. In that time, I've owned lots of 4X4 vehicles. They've all had their good and not so good attributes. I've enjoyed owning and using them all. Obviously, some more than others. That sad, I've owned three XJs. The XJ is the only specific vehicle that I've owned three times. So yeah, I like 'em. My current one is a 1998, 4 door. With 3 1/2 inches of lift, 456 gears, and a Powertrax No-Slip locker in the rear and running 33 inch tires. It works great, for the exploring and back country photography I do.

@@crawlerutah The current, moderately modified, 1998 Cherokee Sport. I previously had a 1988 two door, inline four, five speed manual. Bone stock, and went anywhere I pointed it. It went down the Sleeping Princess trail in Mohave County AZ. For what it was, it was amazing. Later, I had a 1995 four door Sport, pretty much stock and also very good off road. The general consensus, from the XJ "experts" is that the '97 to '99 XJs are the best choice. So, that's what I went looking for, when I got my '98 Sport and with the mods I've done to it, it meets all my expectations.

Sounds great, the XJs I have been on trails with have put the modern Wranglers shame with capability vs cost

Just wondering where that steep hill at the end is? I was there a few weeks ago and ended up going out towards Bartlett Overlook and down.

Is there an alternate to the section at 13:24?

The way they took us out there wasn’t, however, I am sure e there would be an alternative way out, I just don’t know this area of Moab well enough.

@@crawlerutah Thanks. Going out for some pleasure driving in my Tacoma. Locking diff, crawl mode etc...should be okay, but I am not hardcore and just like the scenery and peacefulness getting out.

@@crawlerutah You got it backwards, that meant that he didn't want to go so he said his front wheels WEREN'T engaging so that would be a thumbs down👎 got it bam!!!🤣

Could be he realized he was already in over his head on an easy trail. I was rooting for him to do it, a dually king ranch would make for a good recovery or some good energy if he made it through the trail. Leave the four wheel drive disengaged and he has a graceful exit. You may be right.

@@crawlerutah That looks like it was a great trail, love your editing and angles, sorry to have missed the rest of the trail! Struggling with the up or down vote, but I can guarantee them steps had lots of clearance when we looked at the rating descriptions on the site, and 2 bolts each, with an impact driver from the back. The steps came off quick enough, if the trail got stickier than 8" of BDS long travel lift, and 37" tires could handle. If not, the new 26k pound dynema synthetic rope on the gen 1 XRC 15.5k that I finally located a replacement controller for 2 days prior, would probably help it drag its way out of a steaming wet paper bag... We signed up late, after buying the truck 3 weeks ago and this was all that was left of the starter packages. I signed up for the 3D trail, but had reservations on the other 2 trails on the junior package. At that time I did not realize that I needed to sign up for each trail, individually, but didn't mind after looking more into the latter trails. I tested the 4x the day of purchase, well it hopped once in a wet gravel parking area. I thought i may have broke a hub on the test drive and just ordered a new set, and continued finding a used, bargain shell so my son and I could just sleep in the back vs. trying to find lodging. Work also continued on clearing enough room in the garage to work on this behemoth in the inclement weather prior to the EJS. As far as the first trail changing our minds; I had the opportunity to spend 15 years at Kennecott driving off road all up and down the Oquirrh's, and spent 8 yrs of it at the Tailings pile driving a stock height 1996 F350 crew cab long bed all up and down the impoundment, and the rest of the property. I told people I got paid to wheel for a living, at the largest nature preserve in the area. Sand didn't bother me, nor did the off camber, uncomfortable angles and rocks. Sorry for the length of post, probably still got a case of trail envy going on. We are looking forward to actually having time to prepare for a trip down for '22 EJS, Big Dumb Dually or not, might be two separate rigs, not quite sure yet but we will see you all next year!
