  • On day 3 of our Utah to Colorado off-road adventure my son and I met with our good friends and ran the Poison Spider Mesa trail in Moab. This trail has been on my bucket list for a while and it was so awesome to finally get the opportunity to tackle it. Poison Spider did not disappoint!

Awesome trail hit it with my son end of August. I did get lots of pics and some video, however it was just us. We also did Hells Revenge, Hells gate and Moab rim. I liked Moab rim so much we snuck up and did it again before loading up to leave! Going to plan it again this next August?Sept 2019. Such stunning landscape and endless beauty. Cannot wait to head back! Thanks for another awesome video!

Thank you Brother, Love these videos., you are inspiring me to get out there. I currently have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe with 320000 miles on her. My son Alex and I enjoy driving this old girl everywhere. During the summer she pulls his boat to the Delaware River. I called you brother because I spent 6 years in US Army signal corp ( old school cell phones LOL ) but I got a carrier out of it, 43 years now in the communication industry. I may have to retire the old girl and move into a Jeep, I've owned two Jeeps so far. Thanks again brother and Thank you and your son for your service to our Country.

Since it appears the Mountain Overland Expo is cancelled this year, we are gearing up to go run a similar trip. Doing some additional Jeep mods now. Coming from east Texas though we are choosing to wheel a northwestern New Mexico trail or two on the way and then pull into Moab via northeast Arizona; after that it'll be off to Ouray. Awesome videos and great footage Brad.

We are looking to do an epic Utah trip in Apr 2020 that will begin in Southern Utah and work up to Moab where we will spend about a week. We live in Colorado and while it is beautiful here, nothing compares to the beauty and wheeling opportunities of Utah. Your videos and commentary are always awesome regardless of where they are done from. Great job! • @donmontalvo1
    @donmontalvo1 3 роки тому

Studied this video before hitting this trail today. I did it last year in a 2dr JL Sport S, and it has a 2” lift and 33s, and it was tough.
This year I’m in a 4de JLU Rubicon, same 33” tires but the standard 1” lift from the factory, and it was tougher.
At the 1 mile mark I saw a Park Ranger coming downhill. I asked about trail conditions. He told me the UTVs keep ripping the trails up more and more every year.
He was right. The three tough spots I remembered seemed worse than last year. Today was the first time I ever had to stack rocks.
I love this JLUR, but I really need to get 37s, a 3-4” lift, and 4.88 gearing. It’s my daily driver, yes. And I do a 7,000 mile tour every year, yes. But dang it I need to keep up with the Jones’!

It is real nice having someone local that knows the trails out there. You guys make it look easy!
Also, it's nice to have only ONE spotter who also knows the trails. It's a mess when you have 3 or 4 "spotters" all yelling conflicting instructions to the driver at once. One person yelling "Driver" while the person next to them is yelling "passenger" ! I hate that! lol

I'm running 34 KO2'S with a 2 inch lift front 1 inch rear on the 15 jku. There plenty of play places out that way still? You guys on are another level vs my setup.

I'm curious what size lifts and tires you guys use. I'm planning on running some of these trails out west next summer and my '97 ranger is on 6" of lift but only 33" tires, wondering if I need to bump up to 35"

I didnt realize the white Jeep was a manual trans. props. It has to be 5x harder wheeling this tough stuff. Amazing content by the way.

Hi Brad, Love your Vlog. You show the right mix of prep and trail content.
Two things that continue to peak my curiosity.
    1. I hear of how to improve everything on every kind of Jeep, from super chargers to chrome moly axels and driveshafts. However, I never hear about anything to strengthen or avoid damage to the JK or other Jeep transmissions . Are they indestructible or are they just the strongest link in the chain ? What about clutch issues on Jeeps with stick or cooling issues on automatics ?
    2. Could you tactfully address how you deal with the call of nature during extended trail rides ? Please share the equipment and tactics used when dealing with the change in diet, water and temperature as it relates to bodily functions.
Hope to meet you at Overland Expo this year. Thanks, Neil D.

The automatic W5A580 transmission that comes with the 3.6l motor is a solid transmission. I'm sure there are some folks out there that have had issues, but in general it is very reliable. In regards to Mother Nature, they sell foldable toilets seats and sanitary bags (pack it in, pack it out) that are a good option. Thanks!

Are you still running the poison spyder flares? Happy with them? Are those standard or narrow fronts. Absolutely love the look.
