I would have put wood consolidater on that rotten sill before filling, but you had the right idea- always save as much of the original as you reasonably can before putting in your new window.
Why didn't you install a vapour barrier behind the drywall? When you put the drywall around the window, the drywall seems to completely cover the stud to the right. That means there was no room on the stud to attach the drywall to its right to. How did you do it?
As a professional interiour builder, this video was amazing to watch how much a "normal guy" can fumble and just "meh" up everything. And yes, we watched all the sped up parts at 50% speed for the full effect :) NEXT ROOM GONNA BE 🔥🔥🔥 👍👍👍
I watched both of the "Bedroom Renovation" videos. It is hard for me to image why someone would go through all this effort to "level" the floor and ceiling. I am super curious as to why you didn't put the same money/effort into leveling the foundation. Is it a condo with units below it? I gots to know! 🙂
Strapping would have been a good idea for possibly running wires in the future, but I had already lowered the ceiling and didn't want to sacrifice the space.
Room looks great! Daughter is lucky to have a dad so skilled and willing to do the work.
Beautiful renovation!! Love the vibe of the room, and those wall sconces turned out amazing!
Mike, you are so inspirational! I love your content! Thought me so much! 👍👍
I would do the same for my daughter. You’re ripped too! You’re one of those dads that the boyfriend better watch out! Good job sir!
Awesome Dad & carpentry skills!!
Now that I know what a palm nailer is I want one LoL.
That is some next level measuring in order to make those precise drywall cuts. (Then later on, I saw the wood working)
Amazing work and craftsmanship!
Looks GREAT!! You made it all look sooooooo easy! Got to get me some nice tools like yours...smile
Good catch on the window removal! That sander sure kept the dust down. Definitely the worst part of dry wall installation!

Your skill set is amazing
The things we do for daughters... your daughter won the lottery with you as dad.
Great work, very detailed 🎉

Me needs to know also!😂 Seems like the second level on a detached house.
I noticed the was no strapping on the ceiling. You attached drywall right to the joists. Good idea?

Love the ceiling fan - where did you purchase it?
Great job on this video and the one for the sloping floor 🙂
I bought the fan from Lowe's.
Wow you good
This is way beyond basic DIY shit I've been looking at. This dude's stuff is too advanced
this basically everything you dont do
i absolutely loath drywall finishing.
Lol. I think I’ve said this 100 times myself.
