Wood I make it - Been there done that, got the tetanus shot. I would recommend you look into Sharkbite caps, they are a remodeler's best friend! If it is not too late WAGOs rock! They beat wire nuts. Cool that your daughter is there helping and learning.
I wasn't clear when I mentioned that. It has to be high enough above the sink to be compliant with code. This one was not, but if installed properly, then they're perfectly fine.
when you say "drywall", what exactly do you mean? do you mean big panels of plaster with cardboard on both sides? that's what my parents used when they built their house, decades ago. they were 1.25 by 2.5 meters and maybe a dozen millimeters (1/2 banana) thick keep in mind that i've never been west of the atlantic, so i may know the stuff under another name.
Drywall is made of gypsum plaster with a thick paper on both sides. That's likely what your parents used. I'll be showing the new drywall in a future episode of this bathroom remodel project.
@@Woodumakeit yeah, sounds like that's the stuff. my father used a sharp knife to cut into that thick paper (or cardboard?) and then broke the panel along that cut, similar to how he cut the tiles for the bathroom.
Very cool! I love remodeling! Can't wait to see how it looks.
What a kind father
Great daughter father project 😃
Fantastic work, Mike! 😃
Looking forward to the next part!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Good job 🇨🇦🇨🇦🍁🍁weinting part 2 or 3😄
Hi again, I take it that this is taking place as the same time as the bedroom remodeling!??
Just heave the tub out the window!! Lol 😆

Any concerns about asbestos during the demo?
Air admittance valve is code. Just not traditional venting...

Seriously, if you have a metal cutoff blade, (Sawzall), cut the tub in half and wear gloves and ppe when cutting and taking it out of the house
