Out of this list my favourite indies this year were Katana Zero and Blazing Chrome. I played many more indies this year but they didn't come out in 2019.

Thank you for the excellent 2019 retrospective 🙂✨ The sprite-work in Wargroove looks so wholesome and wonderfully executed - takes me right back to the GBA days even though I never played Advance Wars! I've long been a fan of AW character art however, and Chucklefish's homage looks to carry that mantle well. I can't believe how varied My Time In Portia looks! There's a lot more backed into this indie than I realized... The boss designs shown looked mighty strong as well (and had me exclaiming, "there's bosses in this game!") While I feel the aesthetic hasn't fully come into its own yet, its wonderful to see an ambitions heart-full title like this succeed, and with your endorsement I'm much more keen to give it a try ^^ Hypnospace Outlaw has me lamenting my lack of a PC once more lol T-T Amazing concept ~ not many trailers have grabbed me in the way that this has. It also speaks to those early childhood memories of surfing the web while unsupervised... ...and the feelings of fear and wonder and I imagine cave divers might feel wondering "what odd or marvelous find will I come upon next?" Disco Elysium looks so well illustrated it hurts... Wow... I would definitely love to give this and other acclaimed bird's-eye-view rpgs like Torment, Divinity, and Pillars a try ^^

A good list, even though I have to say Bloodstained was one of the biggest disappointments for me this year. Really did not like that one. My top 5 go-to Disco Elysium, Katana ZERO, Children of Morta, Blasphemous and Baba is You. However, I have to say I have neither played Nowhere Prophet nor Crying Suns yet and those two look like I might enjoy them quite a bit.
Some love for Minoria, I really liked that game. And it's a great list of titles. This is very close to my own top 20, all games had great gameplay and game systems.
Loved Disco Elysium , but my job involves reading a lot on the computer screen, so after a few hours of play after work my eyes were too exhausted to go on. Such a pity, because it is a treasure trove of good ideas. Also super glad to see Blasphemous here. Rippin’ baby jesus! Holy shet
It's telling that nearly all the games I play these days are indie games. Thanks for the great suggestions. There are several on here I've been meaning to try, and several more I'd never heard of but look very promising.
