This channel is ridiculously masterful. Thank you for finding so many incredible games, so many that have flown under my radar, and actually having something to say about them (rather than just reading generic marketing blurbs from the devs). My wishlist is exploddddded
I love your video's! Always puts me on to something new and you show enough clips of each game for us to make decisions on if we're interested in each game.
Interesting to see Chants of Sennaar, Stasis: Bone Totem and 24 Killers on here! Been hearing good stuff about Space for the Unbound and Turbo Overkill as well. May be interested in Steamworld Build. I personally want to point attention to Clash: Artifacts of Chaos and Cookie Cutter too. Clash is part of the Zeno Clash franchise and had Jonas Kyratzes (from the Talos Principle) as lead writer, and Cookie Cutter is a solid game with *great fupping animation*. Both of them have just fantastic style and aestethic to them as well and i'm hungry for more of their world. The lead dev of CC has stated he'd like to substantially support the game for a long time to come if support and opportunity allows for it. Stuff like dedicated boss intro animations, full voice acting, a combo counter, more areas, etc. For upcoming games, Blud, Genokids, Gori: Cuddly Carnage and Loco Motive have my attention. Have a good one in the new year!
I looked at my steam year in review 2023 & the data shown there is very interesting telling me things about my gaming preferences i didn't even realize myself. My top 5 genres of games for example are farming sims, life sims, metroidvanias, racing & platformers. I spend more time with older games (made before 2023) then i do games made in 2023) that i play a more verity of games then the steam average & have more achievements then the average. I mostly use controller over keyboard/mouse (which that was a no brainier)
I just play Nioh 2 honestly lol, oh I played and still play Blazblue Enthropy Effect, those are my stats, and FF XVI by now. I love Bloodstained and play it from time to time, haven't finished afterimage yet.
- Best Indie Games of 2023 - World of Horror - Such great simple animation/art. Sanabi - Great physics for movement and you have a hugely playable game that also looks slick. Wandering Sword - has that mini movie experience of a good rpg along with some cool tbh/rt combat. Tevi - Again the movement and frames of action are so slick - the key to good gameplay! Sea of Stars - a full game world in a game is what you want with JRPGs and that's half of what makes this genre so good when it's good. - Hidden Gems - Pocket Bravery - Probably my pick for GOY. Amazing depth of gameplay with a great presentation package. Deep! Fading Afternoon - Gets my number 2 spot but as above one of the best indie games of past decade also. 100% if you enjoy films such as Sonatine or Hana-Bi etc! - Fan Favourites - Bred and Fred - Love coop or couch conflict 1UP, 2UP, 3UP, 4UP style games. This "See No Evil Hear No Evil" style of buddies or penguins on the run is that kind of awesome game. Cute graphics for 2! - Best Of The Rest - Wartales - definitely great narrative with tbc in a harsh black company style world. Baldurs Gate 3 - hard to overlook how good the narrative branching is in this game. - Indie Games of 2024 To Look Forward (personal list) - Windrunners - Love the combo of luftrausers mixed with pysgnosis-style art Roger Dean - Gotta be good Ronin Trail - micro samurai one blade one life! style indie game.
What an amazing selection. I tried to add a few games to my wishlist. You know what? I already had them thanks to previous videos you made! Thanks for your work :D
Your videos have yet to fail me in finding amazing games to enjoy. Not every game you show is my type but i always come away from your videos with a few more wish list additions to pick from when i go to buy new games to enjoy. A large chunk of my game library is of games i found out about from your spotlights. Both the games & the devs who make them.
I really think this wasn't my best year for (new) indie games... but there are a lot of games in the hidden gems & fan favorites lists that I hadn't heard of! Edit: I just wanna stress again how incredibly helpful channels like these are, and Clemmy's here is my favorite one. Thanks again, Clemmy, for all the hard, dedicated work!!!!
Thanks for the great vids last year! It might take the next couple decades to get through all of these. It's going to be tough to justify buying new releases for the foreseeable future. Hades II being the exception 😉
The art style of Little Goody Two Shoes is actually influenced by 90's anime, not 80's. If you look at anime such as the Slayers and Sorcerer Stabber Orphen you will see what I mean.
There's this game i saw on your channel a while back. Can't remember the name, it's about a journalist that fights or something. Anyone knows what I'm talking about?
I really disagree with Brotato being referred to as a Vampire Survivors clone. I feel like it gives the wrong impression of what the game is like; there are much fewer enemies per wave, while the weapon and item interactions are far more in-depth.
seriously, finding your channel has both cost me money and caused my wish list to balloon.
Yea. First time using the search box on my wishlist too😂
i swear i have hundreds of games there
😂
@@JacquiPenar I have over 1200 on my wishlist, most of them because of Clemmy
I agree it has ballooned my wishlist or is it my fault for no control?
@@LutraLovegood hmm, that is less than half of mine

Appreciate the comment!
1 plus hours of indies? Hell yeah man thank you!
Enjoy!
This channel is essential!
Glad you think so
Admit it people. Stuff like this is why we come to UA-cam in the first place. Awesome list Clemmy.
Thanks 🙏
I will gladly admit it.

Side note for Wildfrost: its music is awesome! Actually, most of the games on this list have great music.
It’s great!

Haha thanks for doing so
Thanks for the long list. I love the concept. I been following for a year now and I am thankful you review so many different games.
If you're looking for even more indie games, I did a video with 47 released in 2023.

Bomb rush cyberfunk and signalis are tied for me
Signals was a 2022 release (both great games though)
System Shock is one of the BEST games EVER.
I waited so long for the remake and it did not disappoint!

My man
Me: I'm going to watch a movie
Clemmy: releases 1+ hr long video
Me: Who likes watching movies anyways
Are these ma mic of previuosly published videos on youtube? Confused by the numbering
yes, it's a compilation of 4 videos of 25 games each, groups into best, hidden gems, best of the rest and fan submitted titles
Princess,
A parenting game? sign me up.
Fwoly huck. Didn't know you made big videos like these O_O Must have taken quite a while to make.
Experimenting with longer ones
great work man!
Thank you! Cheers!
best gamign youtuber channel along with gamerranx
Is this overall new or some sort of best of?
Testing a compilation.
Wish we got a Nintendo clip saying "fishing life rpg"
Heh
Liking and commenting to support the hard work.

Dude where did you get the thumbnail?
-Bomb Rush was made by the same director as Jet Set Radio & Future iirc-
I don’t think so www.mobygames.com/person/573844/dion-koster/credits/

Plz tell me which game turn the hero in to a wolf?
Sailing era cuteness element is good😊
I usually check out your vids during breakfast, but this 75 minute chunker is gonna take a bit longer than that lol

I feel like you took a dig at square enix not making jrpgs of an older style in your video but forgot Octopath 2 😆
VERY good video but 1 hour is too much for my ADHD
Ok. Leave it in the background 😉

More and better doesn’t mean it’s basically a clone
??? take a step back and realize you're describing tweaked details on an overall identical system.
@@Chadworthy_ I know, and I knew I'd get pushback from saying it.
To me, Brotato is WAY closer in game feel to an arcade shooter like Geometry Wars.
I suppose the constrained arena does make it more of a geometry wars like. Everything is cyclical in games
Bro your thumbnails…. They always seem to have something(s) in them
