I don’t regret buying these rigs. The sonics from them is amazing.

Wonderful video, as always Matt. Thanks for putting it together. Both Chroma Console and Microcosm are my desert island pedals. Love them so much.

For the clean tone are you using any sort of amp simulation in the computer? Or are you replacing an amp with the chroma console? Thanks

The Microcosm is amazing and so great you’re doing demonstrations of your own creative processes and you use it is very helpful…and it arrived in the UK within a few days. Thanks for producing such a great product. I saw the review in Sound on Sound.

so does the drift on the reverb change the depth and the rate of the modulation? the manual doesn't specify and here he just says "to my ears" but i can't quite tell if the depth did indeed change

Very cool. So is this just direct guitar? No amp? That never would have occurred to me, but it works.

yep, just DI in. for these instructional/tutorial style videos, we like to keep the sound as neutral as possible so you can hear what the pedals are doing without much additional coloration/processing. Also DI can just sound better in some occasions!

@@HologramElectronics Sometimes I get tripped up trying to decide the order of things. Pre or post amp, effects loop, or as an outboard send... I'm inspired now to just keep it simple next time I jump in. Thanks!

@@bucklebean sure thing! you can always change your mind with DI and reamp it through an amp if you wanted to later

I'm curious if you all would consider creating a 500 series format of these amazing pieces.

The Chroma Console is a very unique pedal. With just a slight move to any knob you always get sonic bliss that works well with recording. I dont have the Microcosm but its on my list.

How did you make the distorted sound in the intro ? Guitar thru Chroma and Moog Matriarch ? Sounds fantastic 🤩

    • @HologramElectronics
      @HologramElectronics  3 місяці тому +3

Yep, guitar into Chroma Console and also layered with Moog going into Chroma. The guitar sound is made from the following effects in the following order: Doubler > Reels > Space > Fuzz

I could get lost for days with these effects.

It seems like all the demos of this pedal with a guitar are just being recorded straight to an audio interface. How would you incorporate this pedal into a guitar pedalboard? as it seems like an all in one product. Maybe through a PA, FRFR, Roland Jazz Chorus and clean settings on other guitar amps

just depends on your taste! chroma console works great with real amps too. it's just a little easier for us to make demos and tutorials with a more neutral recording source. people have such strong preferences about different amps that sometimes recording direct is just a bit more transparent.
in terms of incorporating it into a pedalboard, it kinda depends on what else you have going on. If you have other stereo pedals/are using it in a stereo rig, I personally would either put it as the first stereo pedal or the last stereo pedal. but again, everything is up to someone's personal preference.
I'm not one of the developers (just the person who makes demos and responds to comments) but I like to think of Chroma Console as either:
a: the finishing touch on an already cool sound from other pedals
b: a simpler platform to make a lot of the sounds you end up traditionally making with a pedalboard, all in one unit.
that's why I tend to put it at the end of the chain. if it's the latter use case, it's just easier to turn off all the other pedals and focus solely on making your patch on Chroma Console.
