Great job, thanks for putting this review together. I am looking at the Mosko Basilisk pant and jacket. The selling point to me is that I can wear my own pressure suit (Alpinestars Bionic Tech V2 Jacket) under the jacket. This is an approach I would like to try because I can simply take my jacket off when I become to warm and still have full protection. The new KLIM Traverse jacket and pant caught my attention when I noticed it cost significantly less than the Mosko Basilisk line. However after watching your review it appears the intent of this jacket is to utilize armor integrated into the jacket. Are you able to recommend not populating the Traverse jacket with armor and using it only as a shell while wearing a pressure suit? If so would that effect the size, for example if I wear an XL would I need to go up to a XXL? Also the Traverse line looks more at home on an ADV bike rather than an enduro bike. How would you describe the mobility of the Traverse jacket and pant, is it restrictive in anyway while moving on the bike? How do knee braces fit in the Traverse pant? Thank you for taking the time to read my comment.
Went through the same thought process here. Most of these jackets will fit over a separate armor system (I am using Leatt 6.5) when you pull out the integrated armor, but it will be tight. Too tight in some cases. The Mosko jacket is designed for separate armor, and I'm guessing it will fit better that way.
How good is the ventilation on the pants? I was looking to purchase one pair of riding pants from spring, summer and fall. I didn’t know if these were too hot to wear in the summer in Ohio at 80-90 degrees.
I think they really missed it with the new traverse. The old traverse was a much more functional jacket with venting, abrasion resistance and versatility.
Hi Rex, thanks for your input. You make some good points. I think Klim wanted to create a lightweight waterproof jacket that offered easy movement. It's still a pretty tough and durable jacket, but yeah some waterproof venting on the front would have been nice. Thanks for watching.
I live in Laos as you can imagine the weather temperatures are 30c plus all year round most of my riding is in the mountains on dirt tracks please advise which Klim ridding kit you recommend Thank you Kind Regards Colm
If you don't need waterproof on the exterior... and are okay with Full Mesh - I would totally recommend the Baja S4 suit BRAND NEW as of February. I just picked up this suit and am looking forward to my coolest riding year thus far. -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team
I dont know wich one to choose between carlsbad and Traverse. I am a Canadian rider who is looking for all around kit ( multi season for road and off road) what do you think?
I think they screwed a bit up with this jacket. This is more commuter style or cold weather jacket/shell. Outgoing version had two chest vents, two back vents and two forearm vents. New has only pit zips.
Hi thanks for watching our video. You make some good points. Yeah it's definitely a more over over protection/layer for mild days or rainy weather--not really warm enough to wear alone on extremely cold days.
I see most of the Dakar Jackets are out of stock. Will Klim keep making the Dakar jacket, or is it going to be replaced with the updated Carlsbad and Traverse models?
Great question John. From what I have heard the Dakar is has a new color for this year and the full size run in Tan, Grey and or Black will all be back in-stock here in the next month.

Hello, they are lightweight and decent for warmer weather, they have 2 THIGH INTAKE VENTS and 2 THIGH EXHAUST VENTS.

How does the Traverse compare to the Carlsbad? For overall comfort and weight which is better? Is the step up in material worth the price jump?
Great Question! I will shoot a video comparing the two!
@@chaparralmotorsports looking forward to it!

Hi Andy, no there is not a chest protector pocket.
@@chaparralmotorsports thanks for your answer
Vastly over priced for what it is. I'll pass.
