    I was knocked of my GS last October landing heavy enough to write the bike off and break 8 ribs, I was wearing Marrakesh Jacket and Pants and Klim enduro S4 over the top, the S4 dealt with the abrasion quite well a few holes, however hospital staff were quite amazed the I got away with superficial grazing knees and elbows, both Jacket and pants are still fully usable and a testament to the robustness of the material, I might consider chest protection in future

      @@TrekMoto I agree but my old Latin master unflinchingly asserted that when it comes to pronunciation "USAGE IS KING". Thus in the USA it is commonly like 'climb' but for good old Chris there in the UK its 'Klïm' as in limp. See what I did there?
      CP should just offer to sew in a zipper then everyone would be hunky dory.
      Absolutely fantastic review though in Chris's usual loquacious style.

      Then why run Kevlar panels up the insides of the legs, as this is a sure indicator that Klim expect them to be worn on an off-road bike? The Marrakesh has always been about off-road riding, and air flow. CP.

    I do think you need visuals for these demonstrations. A static set of pants/jacket/boots/etc is all very well, but you need to have more than a talking heads approach. Interactive and cut with close ups, diagrams and videos of the details being discussed would engage more and complement the narrative. Just an idea - but more work of course.

    You didn't mention how the sizing was way off on the original version of these pants. I am a 34 waist, got these in 32 and they are still much too big in the waist. A 30 would probably have been more appropriate. Have they addressed the sizing issue with the new pants?

    I'm a huge Klim fan and wear their Apex jacket, pants (womens sz 4) and airbag vest with a fully paid membership w/ the app. Quality is 100% raved about by me to everyone who I ride with (not annoyingly though) but my ONLY gripe with the brand is they don't have pants that are 28-30 in Waist for men other than Kodiaks..... I too would love a summer pant in my size, or anything other than Kodiaks. Who doesn't love options?

  • @ReferenceFidelityComponents

    Would these go over a pair of RST Adv boots as they're not the most bulky? I wear thick leather trousers tucked into them usually and comfort's only an issue of the leg length is too long where the hem or zip catches the ankle. If these were available in a 30 or 31 inch leg length then I'd imagine they'd be no less comfortable than my (thicker) leathers tucked in?

    I wear these with the Alpinestar Belize Drystar boots which have better ankle protection than most adventure boots by far and are one of the only shorter adventure boots to have decent lower shin protection. I do only wear the Marrakesh for road riding as I have other jackets and pants for other kinds of riding.

    • @Motolegends
      @Motolegends  Рік тому

      Given that these pants have only been on the market for a few weeks, albeit perhaps for a bit longer in the US, it may be that you have worn your Alpinestars inside the old Marrakesh pants. To me the D30 L1 Ghost Armor is insufficient. So I purchased D30 L2 Ghost Armor for jacket and pants. It make the gear feel only slightly more bulky, while making me feel a bit more protected.

      @stephenscott6570 4 місяці тому

      @@kee7678 Working fine. After wearing a bit I don’t notice. Klim ships the original with L1 with the orange triangle D30 inward and the smooth black side of pad outward so the triangles don’t print, I think. when I got the L2 I originally put in that way, but the bottom ends of the knee armor turned in on my skins and I could feel when I walked (but not on bike). So I reversed the armor to have traditional way with the orange triangles facing out and the smooth side against my body and now all is good.

      @@stephenscott6570 Understood. I love my Marrakesh jacket, but ordered elbows in L2 and might get shoulders too. I love it...but also feel...slower type fall and putting elbows dowm or landing on shoulder..will NOT be a 'safe" as my other tougher, more robust, more padded, less comfortable jackets would hurt LESS than this Marrakesh. But 80% or more Of my riding is...road. So yeah I always reach for this one, and sometimes put my Kuiu insulated shirt underneath. Thanks!

    • @stephenscott6570
      @stephenscott6570 4 місяці тому

      @@kee7678 Yeah the D30 Ghost L2 is still fairly flimsy. I own Klim Induction and Carlsbad as well. Induction mesh is cooler with more airflow than Marrakesh and the armor is the regular D30 L1. It must be more protective than Ghost L1. I wear it when temps get over 90degF. Carlsbad has D30 L2 and clearly more protective, but also hotter when it gets over 75degF, even with all vents open. I use that mostly 3 seasons.

I'll try them in anger in the Pyrenees at the end of the month but for those put off by your 'too narrow' feedback I'd encourage them to try them with their boots, they might be fine and it's such a comfortable trouser 👍

      Not in a million years will the new Marrakesh pant go over a pair of Klim Adventure boots. You have bought two pairs of Marrakesh pants from us. Your first pair-the old ones- will go over the boots; the new Marrakesh pant won’t. The only other possibility is that we accidentally sent you a second pair of the old ones. The easiest way to check is to look at the armour. The new ones have Ghost armour. But let me reiterate, the new pant won’t get close to going over your boots. CP

      @Motolegends  Рік тому +1

      @FITNESSOVER45 No, I’m not wrong. Akrapovik comes from Slovenia. Ohlins is Swedish. But there is no such thing as an accent in the English language, and even though our American cousins make a bit of a hash of it, their first language is English. • @TumshieHeed
      @TumshieHeed 5 місяців тому +1

      @@Motolegends Accents and accent marks are two different things. Written English has no diacritical marks, however, it does have 'accents' which are unmarked when written and employed when speaking. The marvel of English is that it is a mongrel bas***d language full of French, Latin, Greek, etc. But you all knew that.
      As for 'cousins' in the USA making a "hash" of it, it must be remembered that all language is "fluid". English itself, in England, has radically evolved over the centuries and the USA form is just one more species of the kind. We could say they are all "correct" contextually and all "wrong" when mis-contextualised. I suppose it is one of those, "When in Rome" situations. This should save us all from that very un-English character-flaw of conceit.
      I may just opt for one of the Mosko pants and the Klim jacket.
      I repeat, Chris does a great job of reviewing even if his English is from time to time somewhat less than perfect.
