  • After the build was finished I did a 6” lift install and put on 35s, here is the full lift install video • 2017 Silverado Z71 4x4...
    Picked this Truck up for about $16,800 from insurance auction, it had only 700 miles. I ended up installing a 6" lift on it an 35s, not shown in this video, but with all the repairs and different parts im about $27,000 total into this truck. Not to bad for a $50,000 truck, yes its salvage title, but who cares i did all the work so i know this truck like the back of my hand and i know i tried to do thing the best because i was doing it for myself. Hope you guys enjoyed the video.

    You have a lot more patience than I ever would have. It was spectacular body work you done and how clean you did it, the body lines turned out amazing and perfect. And the one thing people don't understand is that this type of work doesn't take days but months or years to get it done correctly and accurately to get it to that perfect image. All I can say is great work you are truly an inspiration.

      if you press traction button, you will get TC on the dash, but it doesnt actually turn of TC, you have to actually hold the traction button for about 5 sec till you get a notification saying stabilitrac is off.

    Nice rebuild. I rolled my 05 chevy silverado. Bought a parts truck and completely rebuilt it. Used every body part off the parts truck (including cab). Used all interior from headboard to carpet to dash from the old truck. Took about 7-8 weekends. Now I technically have a 03 silverado, but with 80k original miles still 😉

      FixItNick I managed to get it 75% fixed just need to straighten out the frame a bit in the front, replace left fender, fill a few holes and a new left side of the bed and it’s done I replaced all of interior and fixed all suspension and I finally got it to start. Never knew diesels sounded so good without the muffler lol

    how the hell is that a total? super easy repair.

    • @Jake-wd9mq
      @Jake-wd9mq 6 років тому +14

      TheGriz the shop who wrote the estimate likely wrote according to GM repair procedures. That being said fixing a vehicle to GM standards isn’t always cheap. Likely why it was a total. This guys way isn’t necessarily “wrong” just not the way GM would spec the repair.

    • @FixItNick
      @FixItNick  6 років тому +23

      Sometimes it looks worse than it is and estimators give a huge number so insurance just totals it

    • @Velislide
      @Velislide 6 років тому +17

      GM repairs would have replaced the cab, box, and front fender & doors. Labor costs would have been insane.

    • @thegriz2270
      @thegriz2270 6 років тому +6

      I work in a body shop. We would have repaired it the same way, and have repaired way worse before.

      i replaced them, but it was at night, it looked boring so i didnt include it into the full build video, however its, i did the vid in parts, in Part 8 here i removed them all then i think part 9 or 10 installed them. ua-cam.com/video/IYj2KvCEIxk/v-deo.html
