Already got the Mega Live and Apex updates installed and in use. Definitely a big improvement to the crosstalk introduced to the Solix and Apex in the last updates.
Updated both my helix’s and my mega live. Now I have noise that I never had before. It complete blots out my screen when I use trolling motor. I am so disappointed with Humminbird and the mega live.
I fish for musky, and turned on by the mega live features, however, kinda confused with the transducer aspect, as far as pointing towards the shore line, and fish, and being mounted on the trolling motor. Im looking at getting the Ultra quest trollling motor, if that helps. Any input would be great! Thanks
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. I currently run an Ultrex but during the livestreams on Tuesday 8pm EST there are guys that may have your exact set up. Definitely put your question in the next live chat. I'm sure someone can give you details. I also do pop up livestreams so be sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell to know when I'm live. Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback. Be sure to watch the live stream on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Eastern. I will be showing underwater footage of my update experience. There will also be others in the live chat that may be able to offer suggestions to you.
I am having the same issue cannot update wont come up on my screen put the update for the mega love on the same sd card and put it in the screen came straight up and let me update the mega live and still wont come up to the screen
@@MathyVankerkom wow? I have the same unit an didn't have any issues with updating the software, just my first on the water test I didn't see an improvement
Wait, isn't it telling you to update your megalive to 1.290 BEFORE you update your Helix to 2.8? I mean, that's what it says. So you should update the megalive first. Am I misreading this somehow?
@BlueWalleye Just talked to humminbird. They said transducer first and then head unit unless you have a version below 2.8. If you have below 2.8 then you would update the head unit first and then transducer. May be why a lot of people are having install issues. She also said its usually head unit first but not today.

I just wanted to keep you in the loop. Bassmaster Elite has formed a forward facing sonar committee. They will be studying the effects of FFS during the 2024 season. Part of the study will include number of transducers on the boat, how many screens and size of screens, also how many batteries are on the boat. They will be looking at the top 10 wins. They will be looking at any effects on fish conservation. Here are some myths a certain person is spreading. 1st bass caved in because of the sonar companies and didn't banned it for 2024. The fact is without scientific studies, this is just an opinion not a fact. Bass wants to study how FFS effects the fishing world. I think this is the smart approach. 2nd FFS is killing game fish because FFS makes it too easy. This will also be part of the study too. Again at this point it's just an opinion not a scientific fact. 3rd FFS is cheating and unfair. This will also be looked at, and may result into some rule changes depending on findings. This information is available at Bass University. This might be a great discussion to have with your views Money.

Cool! I should have mine completed this weekend. 😎
Just improvements related to crosstalking in apex units?

What is the best battery to run mega live?

Oh can't wait to see what this looks in action. I will need to try to update mine tonight or tomorrow.
I should have all of my equipment completed for the next on the water livestream. Let me know how you like the update.
GM MB, updated mine yesterday and headed to the lake and 1st test I wasn't impressed, but need to mess around with the settings some more
Cool. I will be completing my update today and tomorrow. Be sure to watch the videos and the Mega Live livestream Tuesday 8pm EST.
I'm installed the new update, but the ML screen is not better.
It's bigger noises by Down mode.
Landscape mode is similar.

Thanks for watching.
Thanks man for the heads up! I am trying to update and keep getting updated failed but the targetlock updated successfully
Frustrated!
Are you updating the Helix or the transducer first? It looks like it's saying you need to update the megalive first before updating the helix.
Try a different SD card and give it a few minutes. Still having issues, call Humminbird support.

Hi Joshua,
I have the same problem as you,Mega live update no problem.
Helix not responding to the update...
Format the SD card and then add the update to the card. Do this with each update for each unit
Thanks man appreciate the update on the update. 😎
You bet
Thanks for the update, but for my Helix 15 G4 the update won't work.
The update for the Mega live is not a problem.
Greetings.
Are you getting an error? Be sure to watch the livestream Tuesday at 8pm EST.
Not getting an error,Just no respond from the unit wen put the update in it.
And updating the Mega live is no problem,so strange.

@@MoneyBass Had issue with the Helix 15 only. My 9 SI+ G3N and my 10 DI+ G4N worked fined. See below
@BlueWalleye download update again, had same issue on my 15 it was on the HBird side
"Money Bass" Should I download the Helix first then the Mega Live or does it really matter ??
Thanks,
Jeff
Thanks a lot fam, I’m going to go over to Cabalas and play around with it

I generally update my units first. Step one doesn't state you have to have the newest version on the graph. I'd contact Humminbird support to be sure.
@@MoneyBass please let us know what they says
Update the helix to 2.890 before the ML update. The networking between the two changed. Console first
