      Oh no worries. At least this tutorial was helpful to many other ant keepers :D A wood formicarium isn't very common, and I do not think that it has a specific name. • @AntsBritania
      @AntsBritania  6 років тому

      Hello! I would just reccomend leaving them for now. Patience is a virtue with ants :-) Perhaps wait until they have 20 workers before moving them into a set up.

    • @kaja0336
      @kaja0336 6 років тому +1

      that is what i had planned, when they get about 6 workers i will probs give them a very tiny outworld, cause feeding them is a hastle, and they need a little move cause they are sometimes very fast and want to run.

    • @AntsBritania
      @AntsBritania  6 років тому

    Hello, man, thank you for all those ideas that you provide. I am a new follower from Iraq and I want to ask you a question in my country so many factions you will find at home more than 10 kinds and the question is there is a kind that is very small. • @hahaghfgh474

      Frankly, man in my country no one cares for this insect, adding to the existence of some species are toxic and I have heard that there is a species in the marshes of southern Iraq, its bite caused a rash and swelling of the area and the body temperature rises and it kills children. When I saw your wonderful videos I started to teach him two different types

    • @AntsBritania
      @AntsBritania  6 років тому +1

      It all depends on what ant you intend on keeping in it :-) A larger ant like Camponotus will need chambers and tunnels over 1cm deep. Whereas, smaller ants like lasius can tolerate under 1cm. :-)

    • @AntsBritania
      @AntsBritania  6 років тому +1

      I have recently encountered a type of mite in my Trap Jaw Set Up but fortunately they only feed on rotting corpses. This is beneficial for my vivarium as it reduces the possibility of mold growth :-) There are however, parasitic mites, which suck the blood of ants. These are most of the time impossible to get rid of and your colony will most likely die within a few days. I will make a video soon on these little guys, so you can have a clearer understanding of them :-)
