That's one of the main reasons why I love your channel so much, we get to look at weird, obscure toys rather than the same-old same-old thing that everyone reviews at the same time all the time
We NEED a SS version of Knight Optimus! Cause after buying their AoE SS Galvatron, that thing is so damn good compared to it's original toy. So it would be nice to see how great they could do with that
We need to let hasbro know how much in demand a figure of knight optimus is
As long as it's in Leader class so it has the budget and engineering for less kibble, if it's in Voyager no way in hell it's gonna be an improvement over the old one

I find it funny that most Knight Optimus toys back in the day pretty much just try to implement a gimmick on the back kibble to make it at least fun to play with, because they just can't work with that design without some black magic

I was watching this with my 2 year old son in sitting in my lap. Every time you pressed the button to transform Drift and he'd pop up, my son would laugh so hard 😄
I remember being in Toys R us looking at the AOE figure and just felt really annoyed with how bad they all looked, only good ones were galvatron and evasion mode prime. Thing was my Mum asked me if I wanted the Evasion prime when we were there whilst I was waiting for the galvatron figure to arrive, but I declined her offer lol.

I remember seeing this back in the day and I always loved the gimmick on it and the look of the alt mode

When looking at the Lost Age version of this and comparing it to the Last Knight version, it looks like Takara's choice on accessories was based on somewhat important weapons for the respective movies this Optimus was released with. Since outside of the two guns that are based on Lockdown's gun face, we did see Optimus use a gun that was similar to Hound's shotguns during TLK. The original release (Lost Age) had the concept art sword which was always with hasbro's release of the leader class prime since they never released the more screen accurate one Takara did along with two smaller swords designed after the sword we saw Cade find when he was on Lockdown's ship whereas the Last Knight release changed the sword to the proper design we saw and traded out the smaller swords for the shield which could turn into an axe like you shown.

This is why the last knight version did him a bit better but I couldn’t imagine hasbro studio series

I remember years ago that I own the AOE version of this optimus figure and that figure was my Knight Optimus for my AOE collection, right until TLK released a “newer” voyager Optimus Prime.
From the side, it looks like a leg for a combiner but it hasn't finished transforming.
I think the “Hound guns” are actually Optimus Primes gun he uses a few times in AOE and TLK (Mostly TLK) especially when he fights Bumblebee as Nemesis Prime. In the movies, they would be colored blue/red maybe a bit longer in shape. Thinking back, it does look weird to see Knight Optimus use a gun in the movies. It doesn’t look natural to me because when do you see knights use guns? But Mechanical or regular Optimus from the previous three movies using a gun looks more natural for a robot.
I don't know why, but the red eyes make him look high, and that looks funny as hell.

To fix the problem I feel like the toy must be bigger so once you’re transforming the toy to the bot mode, it will not look so clunky, and all those extra parts will won’t take up all that space

I like the AOE version of this a lot more because the autobots and decepticons actually had the magnets on opposite feet from each other so he would say different things depending on if it was an autobot or a decepticon on the platform. Plus magnets are just way cooler than a button.
"Have you forgotten who I am??" NO, Optimus...your RotF & HftD Leader class toys (and possibly Takara's RotF Buster variant, DotM Striker, & DotM "Supreme class" Jetwing variants) remind us constantly. And I think that 2007 Leader does, too.
Hol' up. Kingdom Rodimus Prime's trailer is a chonkster...why does the truck mode of this Optimus make it look even *MORE* microscopic than the trailers that actually are too tiny for their own good!? [glaring at Earthrise Optimus & Legacy Laser Optimus trailers]
You forgot two feature that if you turn on again in truck mode it will makes the sound of truck, and when you transform to robot mode by attaching the shoulder joints, optimus will says: Transform!!

I have the older AOE version with the magnets and honestly it’s so bad that I like it. It doesn’t look good from ANY angle other than maybe dead on but it’s fun to flip back and forth and the truck mode is beautiful

This sums up another one of the very many reasons why I hate this design for him, It's difficult to make a toy of it because of how round and humanoid his body is, all the truck parts just become kibble in the back.

So, unrelated to this vid, but I was playing around with my Voyager ROTB Prime, and was trying to transform it, and I thought I had broken something. I looked back on your video on the figure, and nothing seems to be to wrong, (it was the head mechanism for transformation). I do have to fiddle with it a little to get things in place, because I seem to have loosened the piece that goes just above the windshield rather than broken it because it was quite stiff, idk if that is on purpose or a me thing. Another thing I came across after that incident was the left arm. When I was trying to transform it, it wasn’t fitting in properly when I folded the arm to create the side of the truck, and so it won’t click into its little hole to stay in place. So I’m wondering if that has happened to you or anyone else in the comments, if not, maybe just be a bit careful. And if so, does anyone have solutions to either of those problems?
I wonder how his shield and sword look with Voyager TLK Optimus Prime. Considering Voyager's weapons were pretty unimpressive size and paint wise

Sharpie will fade over time, I suggest using Mr hobby silver and using a clear top coat

a "movie toy" needs to represent the thing in the movie it's imitating. This toy is a fail. When i was watching the movie i didn't see Optimus Prime with this HUGE dangling none sense on his back. He looked like how a humanoid should look. This toy is so terrible. There are so many incarnations of Optimus Prime without that problem. it's lazy.
