I made one that fires wooden bullets out the barrel, propellant is 3 ground up match heads and a cap gun cap. Barrel and cylinders are lined with aluminum from a can. Goes off with a real loud bang and sends the bullet about 15 to 20 feet. Without the bullet, I can put about 20-30 matches in with a paper wad and that gets real loud real fast.

It was a Colt 1851 Navy copy made in Georgia during the Civil War, but was in .44 caliber and had a bronze frame. It was the most common of the Confederate Colt copies during the war. If you made a Griswald, it would be even more authentic if you replicated with paint the twisted iron cylinder that they used. Still, I am absolutely amazed. Well done!
Yes, I print them on brown paper (but you can use regular white paper), glue it onto the cardboard, wait for it to dry and cut using scissors, and a utility knife for the holes and grooves
