Wooden Colt 1851 Navy | Fires real caps | Free Templates / REVÓLVER DE MADEIRA QUE DISPARA

- I designed and drew this project myself. Everything's made out of laser-cut 3mm MDF boards, but you can easily replicate it on cardboard or plywood or any other material, as long as each layer is 3mm thick.
The idea was to make it shoot BBs, but it didn't work out, the blast from the caps wasn't enough to propel the BBs. Though the caps fire just fine (you can see some cuts on the video 'cause some of them didn't go off the first time).
The iron-looking color is done using graphyte powder over fresh black paint. The brass color is golden spray paint, and the grips are painted using red varnish.
The glue used is super glue.
Be aware of laws in your country concerning realistic gun replicas. I take no responsibility for the misuse of this project. This is done entirely for artistic purposes.

@@HomeGunMaker
Is this real gun or prop gun, your channel isn't in English.
What are you talking about? Everything is in english!
@@HomeGunMaker
But I see alot of comments that aren't in English, but I want to ask is the gun real in this video?
@@TheeKingRayzor The title of the video says "Wooden", it's a wood replica, and if you watched the video you'll see it's made of wood
You are a hero to all who don't live in the US.
😲 rapais!
When I`m whatching this video it seems it is sooooo easy to make :D
You could never make one that perfect without the laser cutter!
Yeah
Try adding some ground up match heads and scrapings from a matchbox striker into the chambers to amp up the blast a small bit, then the bb idea might work.
Great video as always man, nice work and fair play
Last time I tried that everything caught fire lol
@@HomeGunMaker hahahahaha 😂
@@HomeGunMaker maybe if you used soda can aluminium to line the inside of the chambers and barrel, it may help stop the fire catching 😂
@@ThatRasinger26 or some aluminum or copper tubing could work...
@@HomeGunMaker One thing i saw a guy do is he took the gunpowder bags from multiple cap primers and placed them into one primer. It created more of a blast force, with that it might be able to propel a projectile
For a second I thought it was real lol. Good job!
I'll need to have these things;
I got to create Westerns in my
future.
@HomeGun Maker
BTW: are you planning on doing
More revolver builds in the future?
I hope the Schofield and Colt Python
will be part of them.
Yes, I plan on doing Colt Pythob next
@@HomeGunMaker Cool. What barrel length, though?
Coty Acey 6”
@@HomeGunMaker Awesome.
The 6" barrel is always the best.
It's funny, because i made a wood Colt Walker replica based on your older video, and now you upload THIS... now i'll have to make an updated version, thanks Lol 😂😂😂
Amazing! Post a video of it for us too see!
You r the real gun maker
I used 3mm aircraft ply (8 layers of spruce) and a good quality scroll saw with a fine blade to cut out the parts and achieved a high level of accuracy (without the burnt edges). I had the ply left over from my days spent making high end, returning boomerangs.
You can buy a packet of assorted springs online or just use the spring out of a "click" ball point pen.
If you don't like the sound track there is this thing called a mute button.
Also I played back the video at 0.25 speed to catch some of the detail, still not sure what that tapered stud (6.55) is used for.
Thanks Homegun maker for showing this and your other projects, I really appreciate the time and effort you have gone to.
That stud os what pushes the locking bolt up.
It has to be sloping to slide back when you pull the trigger
@@HomeGunMaker Thanks I have modified the design slightly. I have access to a woodturning lathe and a number of high class Australian timbers. I still spray painted with some metal simulation paint (Rust-Oleum metallic flat iron paint). It turned out OK but in researching the gun I came across one guy who said he picked up a working replica at a yard sale for US $40.
I like how it cap jams just like the real thing!
I also just had My pieces laser cut and it's damn fun to build this! Keep up The good work!
You're marvelous! Thank you, contine like that way!
Faz uma Winchester
Fantástico! Com todos os detalhes, parabéns
Nice replica ! All the details are there and the color of the brass, blueing and especially the handgrips are perfect.
You should consider painting the fron sight cone brass and try simulating some color case hardening on the frame and hammer. It would be perfect if you could pull it off
*Django livre* ):)
Something I've been looking for
AND HUGE THANKS FOR MAKING ALL LAYERS OF SAME THICKNESS!I HAVE WHEN I NEED TO DO 0,6-3,4 MM!JUST 3mm
YOU ARE THE BEST
Another incredible video! 👏
Simplesmente sensacional!
Nice job on it! It's not a real wood or ply? It pressed plates? You can increase the power of the caps, just put the stuff from some more caps in one. Optimum is 3 caps putted together.
I’ll try that!
MDF is Medium Density Fiberboard, look up in wikipedia
With 4 caps i got the beer can pirced
@@HomeGunMaker here is privat Video : ua-cam.com/video/pAAmBl4sLms/v-deo.html
I’m having the urge to go watch “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”
You can make it cardboard by replacing the wood with 3mm cardboard.
Noooossa. Muito top!
Looks like a real gun, very cool.
So satisfying sounds

Hahahahaha... e eu me esforçando pra falar um ingoglish!...

E a Winchester pra completar?
You should put silver Rattlesnakes on the handle like clint eastwoods gun
Wow to collect these type fake fire arms No license required?that's GREAT_keep up the good work Sir!
Thank you for providing these templates. Very useful and still popular. Any chance you will do a Paterson with templates? Please.
try to make powder using matchstick, combined with cap that will work. Cap will ignited powder and resulting high preasure gas that push BB out a barrel. But careful, u need measure how much powder u need. Too much, it will blow cilinder, since material using plywood instead real steel. Anyway thanks for the templates, works on me well, i'm using plywood and already blow mine in first attempt. Made new one and very happy for it
I am Thinking on geting my hands on a Colt 1860 army replica
1 words too good
Hello, how are you? I have a question about the Colt Navy 1851 Single Action Weapon. I saw you pasted behind the hand that spins the cylinder pulsating. I mean, behind that hand, you put a metal. What is that metal and what is its type?
Im very sorry to ask this... but perhaps others may benefit from getting the information as well. So: I absolutely love this gun just as you do. And I would love to make it myself. I already asked a laser company to cut out the parts for me but what I appreciate about your newer videos in particular is that you always mention the things you do. For example the springs you used for the trigger mechanisms are not immediately apparent to me. Could you perhaps share some insight on where to get them. I know this is a bit of a stretch but would it be possible for you to upload this same video but with a less fast time lapse of the whole mechanism part? I’m sorry if this is too much to ask. Have a great day!
in the discreption you sayd the cap is not powerfull to lounch the bbs but if you will add some armstrong mixture as a propellant and you will use cap as a primer it will shoot very far, trust me and try it
muito obigado!
Do you have any specifications on the springs? Like exact measurements so I dont screw up mine? Also I know it's a long shot but I'm hoping to make this prop chamber dummy cartridges similar to the Richard's Mason conversion any tips?
Can you make a Winchester rifle that fires real caps please
OMG YES
Dude, why don't you market this and sell the kit so that some of us who don't have a laser cutter could enjoy a project, I would buy one.
😱👌
Great job. Can you share the file in the format that the laser printer works in? I downloaded the pdf file and tried to cut the 3mm mdf pieces manually, but it didn't work. I want the file in a format that can be printed by laser because I intend to take it somewhere that can print it for me.
Could you make a newer video showing how to make and attach all of the metal parts in detail it would be greatly appreciated. Also a new video idea could be a similarly designed and built revolver made out of all metal products. If you have access to a water jet cutter you could use it to cut the pieces
Is there any chance of bying one?
Hermoso trabajo... No tiene los planos en Autocad...???
Cool.
Still think colt saa is cooler though.
Anyway , it is pretty cool non the less.
I made the SAA as well, check it out on my channel
@@HomeGunMaker OMG YOU DID
single action army is my favourite, i will check it out!
Dostum inanılmaz iyisin
Is it just me or did you change the hammer spring?
Bro if you can, would really appreciate if you made a colt Paterson style revolver, such as the one from supernatural
Bro from where did you get cardboard I saw your Glock video it's awesome please tell

Ela está em escala real? Queria fazer na chapa de aço. Lógico que não ia disparar de verdade.
Sim a escala é 1/1
@@HomeGunMaker Partiu projetinho no aço hehe. Obrigado por responder.
Some questions-
1) did you sand the barrel to make it octagonal?
2) what are MDF sheets and can we get them online?
3)how's Toby?
Haha
1) yes, I sanded and used a file
2) I can’t post links here, look up MDF on wikipedia
3) he’s the cutest, fluffiest and loveliest dog in the world! There couldn’t be a better pet! Check out his instagram, tobidoggy
Thanks
ONDE TEM A MAQUINA A LASER QUE CORTA AS CHAPAS?
*Wow*
pq eu quero kkkkk
takes too long to make each of them, and would be expensive to ship them, especially internationally
It was amazing!!! Thanks for share... what kind of powder did you sprinkle on the black surface to make it looks like patinated? Thanks again
Graphyte powder
HomeGun Maker thanks a million!!!
what caps do you shoot?
they’re just normal red caps used in the toy cap guns
how much would it cost to have a wooden colt 1851?
I’d argue that if you want it to shoot you should probably use actual Percussion Caps, but that’s a little risky
Where to get the spring for the mechanism? Also could u explain or make a separate video of the mechanism its a bit hard to understand the mechanism
